- Mumbai Diaries 26/11 - Making sense of what is picturized
Some Incidents may test you like never before , on the other hand, it makes you believe that there is still some goodness in the world. Though there are a lot of new movies , shows awaiting review , I want you to open up Mumbai Diaries on 26/11 Incidents might be temporary but scars may last forever The first season of Mumbai Diaries 26/11 was released on 9 September 2021 on the Amazon Prime Video platform. This series shows the devastating atmosphere which was created by terrorists on 26 November 2008. They attacked various famous spots in Mumbai city. Terrorists targeted five prominent places of the financial capital – Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station, Nariman House business and residential complex, Cama Hospital, Leopold Cafe, the Oberoi-Trident Hotel, and Taj Hotel and Tower. Thus, creating a fiction story based on these attacks, the series shows the ideology, evacuation, and memories of people related to these attacks. The series is directed by Nikhil Advani and Nikhil Gonsalves. They have really put an astonishing effort to display many things as they were happening in parts of the city. The first two episodes show the attack on Leopold Cafe and the causes of it, which were the dead bodies arriving in the Bombay General Hospital. At first, the assumption of hospital staff was small gunfire or gang war. Soon, the number of patients increased and came the news be that it is a well-planned terrorist attack and the panic begins then. They rush towards the hospital, finding and locating relatives. Some scenes took from Taj Palace, where a hotel staff takes lead to save the people who were stuck in a hotel, to evacuate them. Both directors made effort to put visuals of a terrorist attack and worked on every detail. The Director of Photography (DOP), Kaushal Shah, makes it more interesting to watch the shots from the hospital and also the attacks are shown in various parts of Mumbai city. The Trainee doctors Sujata, Diya, and Ahaan, acted very well to portray each given character. They gave full loyalty to their role. The trainee played each by Mrunmayee Deshpande, Natasha Bharadwaj and Satyajeet Dubey show the spirit and a perfect doctor model, as they help and cure people injured in attacks. It is great to see, Prakash Belawadi aka Dr Mani Subramanium, again in a different role of a strong doctor. Mohit Rana aka Dr Kaushik, a strong-headed doctor, tries to find a solution in every situation as a doctor and also as a normal man. Konkona Sen Sharma, wasted her most of role, being at gunpoint and bombed. It would be better if she would also be involved in some actions. A reporter role played by Shreya Dhanwantary, makes some twists and turns, each in balanced profit of Police force and also terrorist organization. The complications and disturbance inside the palace hotel, make an emotional drama, is OK to watch. Most of the things, shown are heard and seen on Media, making sense to what is picturized. All the actors have given their best to their roles and also played them well, keeping the series lively and watchable. We initially see that each character of the series, is looking for their own safety and their own profit, as the situation gets worse, they all realize that it is not a normal attack, each of the characters pounces up to help each other, making a number of ways to get out of the situation. Mumbai Diaries ends up becoming a never-ending saga of interesting characters rather than a taut thriller of a life-altering real event. One more thing I read on some Facebook post I would like to include over here The long-form possibilities of television are finally allowing an intimate look at the emotional journeys of those who were caught up in the attacks; the focus, this time, is on the first-responders and healthcare workers who struggled to cope with an unprecedented crisis. In eight episodes spanning the attacks’ first 24 hours, the show combines the storytelling techniques of two-hit US shows — medical series ER and counter-terrorism thriller 24, whose events took place over one day. If we talk about the reception from the audience or critic, The statement below may create the correct impact "Mumbai Diaries 26/11 is undeniably a medical drama you won’t regret seeing"- Bhavna Agarwal from Bollywood Bubble With an IDMB rating of 9.1/10, this series is streaming on Amazon Prime Video. - The Future of Skills Education 2030- Dr Pratik Mungekar
A great conversation on the future of Education and skills education on the 7th Episode of THE KRYPTONITE SHOW !!! Dr Pratik shared interesting facts, anecdotes and information on a topic that is really doing the rounds in global education!! Catch the show on the YouTube channel of Chilparco International https://youtu.be/0RJJkKQsfhs If You are a regular reader You can read the complete transcript over here The Future of Skills Education 2030 : Need for new solutions in a rapidly changing world Societies are changing rapidly and profoundly. The first challenge is environmental: e.g. • Climate change and the depletion of natural resources require urgent action and adaptation. A second challenge is economic: e.g. • Scientific knowledge is creating new opportunities and solutions that can enrich our lives, while at the same time fuelling disruptive waves of change in every sector. Unprecedented innovation in science and technology, especially in biotechnology and artificial intelligence, is raising fundamental questions about what it is to be human. It is time to create new economic, social and institutional models that pursue better lives for all. • Financial interdependence at local, national and regional levels has created global value chains and a sharing economy, but also pervasive uncertainty and exposure to economic risk and crises. Data is being created, used and shared on a vast scale, holding out the promise of expansion, growth and improved efficiency while posing new problems of cyber security and privacy protection. A third challenge is social : e.g. • As the global population continues to grow, migration, urbanisation and increasing social and cultural diversity are reshaping countries and communities. the • In large parts of the world, inequalities in living standards and life chances are widening, while conflict, instability and inertia, often intertwined with populist politics, are eroding trust and confidence in government itself. At the same time, the threats of war and terrorism are escalating. These global trends are already affecting individual lives and may do so for decades to come. They have triggered a global debate that matters to every country, and call for global and local solutions. The OECD Education 2030 contributes to the UN 2030 Global Goals for Sustainable Development (SDGs), aiming to ensure the sustainability of people, profit, planet and peace, through partnership. Need for broader education goals: Individual and collective well-being unless steered with a purpose, the rapid advance of science and technology may widen inequities, exacerbate social fragmentation and accelerate resource depletion. In the 21st century, that purpose has been increasingly defined in terms of well-being. But well-being involves more than access to material resources, such as income and wealth, jobs and earnings, and housing. It is also related to thequality of life, including health, civic engagement, social connections, education, security, life satisfaction and the environment. Equitable access to all of these underpins the concept of inclusive growth. Education has a vital role to play in developing the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that enable people to contribute to and benefit from an inclusive and sustainable future. Learning to form clear and purposeful goals, work with others with different perspectives, find untapped opportunities and identify multiple solutions to big problems will be essential in the coming years. Education needs to aim to do more than prepare young people for the world of work; it needs to equip students with the skills they need to become active, responsible and engaged citizens. Learner agency: Navigating through complex and uncertain world future-ready students need to exercise agency, in their own education and throughout life. Agency implies a sense of responsibility to participate in the world and, in so doing, to influence people, events and circumstances for the better. Agency requires the ability to frame a guiding purpose and identify actions to achieve a goal. To help enable agency, educators must not only recognise learners’ individuality but also acknowledge the wider set of relationships – with their teachers, peers, families and communities – that influence their learning. A concept underlying the learning framework is “co-agency” – the interactive, mutually supportive relationships that help learners to progress towards their valued goals. In this context, everyone should be considered a learner, not only students but also teachers, school managers, parents and communities. Two factors, in particular, help learners enable agency. The first is a personalised learning environment that supports and motivates each student to nurture his or her passions, make connections between different learning experiences and opportunities, and design their own learning projects and processes in collaboration with others. The second is building a solid foundation: literacy and numeracy remain crucial. In the era of digital transformation and with the advent of big data, digital literacy and data literacy are becoming increasingly essential, as are physical health and mental well-being. Need for a broad set of knowledge, skills, attitudes and values in action Students who are best prepared for the future are change agents. They can have a positive impact on their surroundings, influence the future, understand others' intentions, actions and feelings, and anticipate the short and long-term consequences of what they do. The concept of competency implies more than just the acquisition of knowledge and skills; it involves the mobilisation of knowledge, skills, attitudes and values to meet complex demands. Future-ready students will need both broad and specialised knowledge. Disciplinary knowledge will continue to be important, as the raw material from which new knowledge is developed, together with the capacity to think across the boundaries of disciplines and “connect the dots”. Epistemic knowledge, or knowledge about the disciplines, such as knowing how to think like a mathematician, historian or scientist, will also be significant, enabling students to extend their disciplinary knowledge. Procedural knowledge is acquired by understanding how something is done or made – the series of steps or actions taken to accomplish a goal. Some procedural knowledge is domain-specific, and some are transferable across domains. It typically develops through practical problem-solving, such as through design thinking and systems thinking. Students will need to apply their knowledge in unknown and evolving circumstances. For this, they will need a broad range of skills, including cognitive and meta-cognitive skills (e.g. critical thinking, creative thinking, learning to learn and self-regulation); social and emotional skills (e.g. empathy, self-efficacy and collaboration); and practical and physical skills (e.g. using new information and communication technology devices). The use of this broader range of knowledge and skills will be mediated by attitudes and values (e.g. motivation, trust, respect for diversity and virtue). The attitudes and values can be observed at personal, local, societal and global levels. While human life is enriched by the diversity of values and attitudes arising from different cultural perspectives and personality traits, there are some human values (e.g. respect for life and human dignity, and respect for the environment, to name two) that cannot be compromised. - 2 April 2011 -When the 28 year wait ended
India is a cricket crazy country. Cricket is not just a game, it's an emotion for Indians. It's a country where a billion people pray for the best of the eleven guys who represent the nation. The world cup victory of 1983 led by Kapil Dev didn't just break the West Indian domination, it made cricket the biggest religion in the country, with the devotees of the game increasing day by day. Since then, every time India played the grandest event of cricket, The World cup, Indians prayed for the title to come back to India. After a lot of effort, the prayers of these devotees turned into reality as MS Dhoni hit a six to long ending the 28-year-long wait for India to lift the World Cup title. In a contrasting way, the usually aggressive Gautam Gambhir played a calm and composed inning of 97 crucial runs, and the usually calm MS Dhoni played a quickfire inning of 91 off 79 deliveries to make the dream of India a reality. Billions rejoiced the moment, and the entire cricketing fraternity stood up in respect of the God of cricket when he was lifted by his teammates and his very own Wankhede was lit up by the scenes happening on the cricket ground. With it, India became the first host team to win the title. But the wait was too long. The 28 years were full of ups and downs for Indian cricket. Post the heroics of Kapil Dev and his team who brought glory to the country, there had been no instances of Indians getting to relive the moment again. India came very close in 1996 and 2003, but the 1996 world cup ended with a tragedy and the 2003 final which was supposed to be the best night for the players turned out to be a nightmare. But the Indian team fought. Leaving the forgettable 2007 World cup behind, India did the unthinkable in the 2007 T20 world cup by winning the inaugural edition and then looked all set to bounce back strongly to show they are the best team. MS Dhoni did what the previous captains could not do despite trying so harder. The Ranchi boy led the balanced Indian side to bring glory to the cricket crazy nation again. The most special thing about the world cup was the collective team effort that led the team to achieve this feat. With the God of cricket who scored more than 500 runs in the tournament, Sehwag starting innings with a boundary, Sreesanth aggressively bowling the opponents, Zaheer reverses swinging the ball in crucial times, Ashwin scalping Waston with his carrom ball, Gambhir shifting his position from opener to one down and yet scoring the crucial runs for the team, Bhajji spinning magic on the field, and Yuvraj Singh playing his heart out to fight all the odds and inspiring generations, the team looked the perfectly balanced team who was backed by one another. The confidence of the team was sky-high. Barring the loss against the Protea team and the tie against England, India didn't lose any other game. In the quarter-finals, they knocked out the defending champions and the earlier three consecutive title winners Australia in a thriller in Ahmedabad. In the high voltage semi-final clash, they defeated the arch-rivals Pakistan in Mohali. And in the final, they chased down a good total of 275 runs against Sri Lanka thereby clinching the title. This world cup victory was a very emotional sight for Indian fans due to numerous reasons. The major reason was that it was probably the last world cup of the man who ruled the world cricket and who made cricket famous-Sachin Tendulkar. They had seen him lift the team on numerous occasions and wanted him to lift a well-deserved trophy, which they were fortunate to witness. Another major reason was the star performer of the tournament, Yuvraj Singh's courageous act of giving 100% to the team despite suffering from Cancer was something that Indians has no clue about during the tournament but got to know later. - Ajit Wadekar: First Overseas Crusader of India
When one speaks about the most successful captains of India, one would think of MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Saurab Ganguly, Kapil Dev. All these people took India to a different level, making the team one of the most successful teams in the cricketing world. But there are few captains, who might not be the most successful ones, but we're the of the Indian team's first few success stories. If one has to speak about such captains, who made Indians taste success for the first time, the name of Ajit Wadekar has to appear at the top place. But Wadekar's contribution to Indian cricket was not just limited to his captaincy. He was an excellent batter. He used to bat at the most prestigious number three position while batting for the team. Playing 37 tests for India, he scores 2113 runs which included 1 century and 14 half-centuries. He was an aggressive batter, who used to display his aggression with his bat, with a call head over his shoulder. In tests too, aggressive batting was his trademark. The same attitude had earlier yielded him greatly in domestic cricket where he had scored more than 15000 runs overall. Apart from just being a wonderful captain and aggressive batter, he was one of the most amazing slip fielders to play during his generation. The close fielding unit of Eknath Solkar at forwarding short leg, Abid Ali and Wadekar in the slips was strong enough to dread the batter to defend the ball as the slightest of the margins would ensure the ball is caught by these. These men with their quick reflexes made the spin quartet of India consisting of Erapalli Prasanna, Bishan Singh Bedi, Bhagwat Chandrashekhar and Venkatraghavan successful and memorable. Speaking of tests Wadekar and his contribution are known to everyone. He created history by winning the first series in England and West Indies. And in One Day International, his name was written in history books as the first ODI captain of the half-century Indian team, which now has played over a thousand ODI's which is most by any cricketing nation. In the historic first ODI for India in 1974 in Headingly, Wadekar also hit a half century, but it came as a losing cause for the team. Post that match, very soon he announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. He played for a brief period for Men in Blue, but he made it sure that the team he led for the first time had enhanced its standards in international cricket by the time he retired. Also, he showcased to the world that India can win games in overseas tough conditions too. A new generation of cricketers is stars. But the older generation of players were the ones who made the sky for these stars to shine The likes of Wadekar and all these older generations of cricketers were special because they played the game purely for their passion and love for the gentlemen's game, and not for the commercial aspect which is visible in today's game. Their passion led ThisIndia's roadmap to success in the cricketing world. Which is why, today, even after 48 years of Wadekar's retirement, he is still regarded as one of the finest gems of Indian cricket, who paved the way to India's glory. - Important about what’s important to your family - Dr Pratik Rajan Mungekar
Dr Pratik Rajan Mungekar has put forth his thoughts on Important about What’s important to your family on the stage of RKDx Talks . RKDx Talks is a unit of Global RK Quotes Speakers Forum, enrolled under the MSME, Govt. of India and ISO 9001: 2015 Certified. It is a global instructive Community to rouse, live and touch off. Their expertise is drawn on to stimulate the education fraternity and lead online programmes and boardroom strategy sessions. It is a main worldwide speakers stage for school pioneers, Principals, Vice Principals and Educators. This syndicated program was begun by Dr RK Das in 2021 Let's read what he said on the stage Family is our first introduction to this physical world. It is also our blueprint, giving us our genes, ancestral experiences, and earthly ties. Family means so much more than nice dinners on the weekend. It can be a deep source of spiritual sustenance and meaning. Family teaches you the values that guide you Family isn’t all sunshine and roses: but for better or worse it teaches you the values that guide you. Psychologists agree that our early childhood experiences and observation of our parents do more than almost anything to shape the person we become. Family is our first school: it’s where we learn who we are, where we fit in, and what we can contribute to the world. It’s where we face the unique challenges, rewards and situations that help us learn how to navigate the outside world later on. Our parents, guardians, or relatives who raise us have more power than anyone will ever have for the rest of our lives. They can shape our minds and hearts in powerful and lasting ways. When the going gets rough, family is there Some families are more supportive than others, but for those blessed with a caring and attendant family, the benefits are numerous. For one thing, family is there when other support systems fall through. Maybe you’re sick but don’t have the energy to drive to the medical clinic? Family comes through… Maybe you need a break from work and are having a nervous breakdown but don’t know how you’ll cover the lapse in income? Family is there… To the best of their ability, families do what they can to support those in their immediate and extended network. This is so much different than a lot of the external world where many things are so transactional and money-based.“When life gets hard, people need support. This can be emotional and/or financial support.“Someone going through rough times will turn to their family if they trust them to provide encouragement and love.” Strong family life encourages economic stability One of the biggest reasons family is important is that families are the economic unit of well-functioning societies. This may be a controversial statement, and plenty of cultures have different concepts of what defines a family. But what I mean here is that a group of people – often related by blood – who stick together through thick and thin, are vital to the trade and commerce of a community. They are havens of trust and dependability, providing a reliable base from which society is formed and expanded outward. The family sends their kids to school and works local jobs. The family shops at the supermarket and supports local businesses. The family invests in their community and sticks in it for the long haul. That’s what makes the family such a cornerstone of economic life. Families encourage healthier eating habits This is especially true of those family units who still sit down around the supper table and prepare a home-cooked meal. Slow-cooking and putting thought and planning into a meal have beneficial effects. It’s even better if someone in the family is health-focused or knows about nutrition, and cooks intentionally to make both healthy and delicious food.“Across all ages, families who eat meals together have healthier diets that include eating breakfast, ample fruits and vegetables, and fewer processed foods,” These healthy food choices create a foundation that lasts up to five years later for teens,” she adds. Family offers moral and spiritual support In a world that can be cruel and cold, family is that backbone we can turn back to. It offers moral and spiritual support when the world seems uncaring, indifferent, or even spiteful towards us. Our mom and dad, relatives or guardians, are those tasked with raising us. They didn’t do it for the money, and their love is real. Even the most messed up families have some kind of bond, and that bond is what we can turn to when the going gets rough. The spiritual lessons family provides can also last a lifetime. Hearing from those you respect and love about the experiences, beliefs and values that shaped and guided their life can be a deeply invaluable lesson. Family provides love with no strings attached Some families do put conditions on love. But at its essence, family is about unconditional love. It’s about people who love you for who you are and who you could be. People who see the best in you even when you fall short, and grieve when you let yourself and others down. It’s folks who truly want the best for you out there in the world and who do what they can to make it happen. Sometimes doing what they can is as simple as telling you that you’re loved and that they believe in you. In a way, this is the best thing any family member can do for you in the end.“Just like a few of our basic requirements to live life. A human being also requires several other emotional needs like love, which is essential for mental happiness. Happy families lead to happier societies and nations There’s a saying that happiness begins at home. I wholeheartedly agree. Whatever your family or core home group looks like, the dynamics of that group define so much about who you become and what you value. On a wider scale, a fulfilling family life leads to a more vibrant and satisfying society as a whole. When I think of the places I’ve loved most in the world in Eurasia, the Middle East and South America, there’s one thing they all had in common: They were very family-centred. That led to amazing feelings of belonging, hospitality and spending time together that I didn’t experience as much in more fractured, modern nations. Families can be a source of lifesaving advice. A lot of the best advice I’ve ever received is from my mom, even if I get annoyed by it at times. Later I look back and realize she knew what she was talking about! That’s family for you: not always what you want at the moment, but often what you need. Family members know you well enough to tell you the harsh truth when it needs to be told. They will tell you whether the person you’re dating is right for you in their view. They will tell you you’re getting fat (in a nice way)…Your family won’t sugarcoat the truth, but they’ll hopefully always have your best interests in mind.“Family to me means encouragement, comfort, advice, values, morals, faith, understanding, hope and lots more.” Family gives us our genetic heritage and ancestral ties The blood that runs through our veins and the energy that went into making us is not random or meaningless. It’s tied to deep stories, experiences, genetic memories, and historical events. It can often be tied to our future destiny, challenges and talents as well. I believe that the tragedies and triumphs of our ancestors live in us at a cellular, subconscious level. Instead of past lives, I believe we are the embodiment of our ancestors’ lives in a certain way, with the addition of our own unique “I” and individuality. Families show the value of solidarity during tough times One of the top reasons family is important is solidarity. When the shit hits the fan, the family teaches you not to run and hide. It teaches you to stick together and weather the storm. Family is about solidarity and supporting each other. Like a team that never gives up in the face of adversity, the strong family never fractures apart under the onslaught of life. Divorce, illness – even death – will never be enough to tear apart a tough and loving family. Family helps build community spirit As I mentioned earlier, happy families help improve society as a whole. They make it a more welcoming place, maintain traditions and provide that hospitable and sharing spirit that makes a house into a home. The simple truth is that families help build community spirit. They turn a block of houses into more than just random structures. The addition of kids ties parents together in so many more ways as well, leading to all sorts of connections and shared efforts to make life and the surrounding community positive and safe for the youngsters.“Parents tend to get involved with their community more often than people living alone.“What’s more, they teach their children at a young age that the only way they can control what kind of community they have is to contribute to it.” Positive family ties improve mental health Having a positive family experience leads to better mental health. When you have that rock-solid network you can always rely back on upon, an enormous pressure gets taken off your chest. You don’t have to go through the world alone or be desperate for love when you already have it at home. You’re now able to give love, to give stability, and to give reassurance to others. Families show us how to form relationships and love Watching family members is the first way that most of us learn how to love. We see the way our parents do – or don’t – care for each other, and we imitate and internalize it. Family experiences and relations are so crucial to our own experience of what we become later in life. I’m not saying that if you come from a troubled family you’re doomed, but statistics show it’s certainly a harder row to hoe to obtain future success in your personal and professional life.“These familial relationships often form the basis for how people interact with society and the relationships they will form as members of the community.” Family gives us interpersonal challenges that help us grow Lastly, and certainly not least, one of the best things about family can be how bad it is sometimes. This sounds crazy, but in many cases it’s true. The challenges and misunderstandings that arise in families can be some of the toughest experiences we have ever gone through. They can lead to serious rifts, deep hurt, or even fistfights. But they can also give us opportunities to grow and see ourselves in a new light. Problems and clashes within a family can become the ultimate test. For example, having a parent who constantly undermines you and cuts you down can be an excellent opportunity to define your worth for yourself and learn not to base your value on the opinion of others.
- Self-Awareness- Awakening to Excellence : Namrata Dhasmana
I remember the famous essay “Myself” whereas a school kid I use to write the same few sentences on the self of having my two eyes, a nose, two hands, and long tresses. As time passes, I kept this essay on Self closest to my heart and kept the journey of my evolution with my strengths, passions, and got developed as an Empowered Influencer. In the journey of my evolution, I started to make my own decisions make my own choices, and understand the consequences of every decision. I got developed as action-oriented. When I was nominated for Woman Skydiving Team, I learned to be deliberative like understanding the direction of winds. and respond to situations like opening the parachute. My left wrist was fractured in the 9th jump but since the selection of the team was in progress, I decided to get my wrist treated with a private doctor and developed my resilience at an early stage of life. While undergoing the Young Officers course a pony stepped over my ankle and I decided to make it so strong once it gets healed so that I am back on my long runs. And here my willpower was getting developed. On a whole, Namrata was getting developed as a Passionate Go-Getter and since I was mindful and conscious about every evolution and development the essay“My Self” was also continuously evolving with my innate talents getting transformed into strength. The conscious navigation of the path of life where you are aware of your emotions, your strengths, and your values opens the door to opportunities. These are the major constructs of any and every persona. How do we awaken our excellence is by being aware of our emotions which not only play at the conscious but majorly at the subconscious level. And when we are mindful and aware of our present, the subconscious mind receives signals from the present thoughts and emotions and converts that into reality. Hence a simple process of being in NOW, being in present, being AWARE is the key to achieving a splendid and successful life. How an understanding of emotions reflects your strengths profile and journey to success.? After being aware of our emotions we reflect on our certain choices, the why of what we do, why we have a liking for certain things and why are we better at some things. Once we are aware of the activities which make us happy and empowering, we begin following them and we realize that we don’t have to put in much effort because of the joy that we are getting. These activities are driven by our emotions and backed up by our talents. And there we understand our talents. Awareness of talents thus makes everyone unique as they represent innate potential and where you are genius. And when the talents are tapped, we tap on our potential to succeed. The understanding of talent makes us special and how we can use them to do exceptionally well. Significantly, we know how to get empowered once we begin our strengths journey. As phrased by Thomas Edison “If we all did the things, we are capable of doing, we would astound ourselves.” How do we begin to flex our talents? Talent is a natural way of thinking, feeling, and behaving. Like if your talent is Analytical- you might be a little serious and like to stay away from the crowd. Are you jovial and get the momentum going with your energy; which is one of the traits of having Positivity as your talent. How good are you in staying connected with people will reflect on your number of friends, yes real friends with whom you go and hang out for coffee? You will have connectedness as your talent. And yes, do you feel envious of your friend if they do well, how well are you using Competition as your talent? When you decide to exercise these talents and transform them into strengths-based practice with a conscious awareness you create an Individual Development Plan to achieve success and create excellence in your life. Be it to assimilate your new team and you want to function as an interdependent team or wish to embark on your entrepreneurial journey or mend any relation, the awareness of the talents always makes you aware of your Problem Statement. Then you aim to take the intentional steps to leverage your talents. Once you get the crucial insights you claim your empowerment. Using your strengths to explore a goal or challenge not only makes you closer to your innate talents but also creates awareness about your behavioural patterns and there you get closer to yourself. With this closeness and awareness of yourself, you embark on the journey of success. So be aware of your every thought, emotion and talent master them, and make them your Strengths is a simple process of Self Awareness. So, Begin your journey of Empowerment and Excellence by Self Awareness and the journey of life!! - "EK Thi Begum " - beyond a Women-Centric Drama
Ashraf aka Sapna, the loving wife of Zaheer - a once confidante of Maqsood, the underworld don, but now arch-rival. Yes starts the starting point of this series. Most important it's really hard to come out of the shell of gangster movies or series by Ram Gopal Varma, Sanjay Gupta and Anurag Kashyap, but this series marked her presence Why we can't accept that Films or web series can be Women-centric, in all genres? Well, talking about "EK Thi Begum ", a complete women-centric web series, which is ruling over the terrorist world. A mind-blowing, fantastic performance by Anuja Sathe. Both seasons show the struggle of Ashraf Bhatkar aka Anuja, to reach Maksood, a Dubai-based international terrorist, who planned to kill her husband, Zaaher Bhatkar aka Ankit Mohan. Well, starting from Season 1, getting to know about Zaaher's business after his death, his relations with political leaders, gangs, drugs and other people related to the gang, she decided to kill everyone including Maksood who was involved in the murder of her husband. By disguising herself, as a bar dancer Sapna, she gets rid of Sawtya aka Santosh Juvekar and parallelly Inspec. Tawde aka Abhijit Chavan, who was the prime suspect involved in the murder of Zaaher Bhatkar, killed Sawtya very cleverly and plans to get rid of Tawde too. Nana Mhatre, Bhau Chavan, fights seem to be very ruthless, making the series more thrilling to watch. The first season shows the process of revenge mind of Ashraf and controlling Zaaher's business of drugs too. Director and Writer Sachin Darekar, have fantastically written, and the dialogues are at their best. Every role has a lot of work to do. Every role includes supporting characters who have given their best to make the series go to par excellence. The actions scenes are well-shooted. Ashraf's pain, while making every deal and murder planning displays love towards her husband and her intentions strongly affected the people, who didn't know that she is Zaheer Bhatkar's wife. She also succeeds to put a fight between two gangs, so that gangs can end each other, and she can be safe from everyone, but somehow it didn't happen quite well. There is a saying, "If a woman decides to do anything for her family she can do anything to protect, and the first season shows it truly. As the first season ends we see Maksood succeed to flee away and Ashraf who played the role of Sapna gets badly injured nearly dead, but her well-wisher Inspec. Vikram aka Chinmay Mandlekar didn't lose hope in saving her and she too got saved from that attack. Chinmay's character is very strong and pure. He wants to live a simple life with Zarheen, and so they get married. The plotting and planning don'tstop here. She gets more serious about reaching Maksood and killing him. As Leela, she enters the Maksood's world and gets back up by Ashwin Surve, who is now the leading Gunda in the city and has the support of state's Cheif minister Yashwantrao Patil played by Sandeep Mehta. Apart from Surve, Shakeel Ansari enters the game and thinks to control all the things to make Maksood happy. The Himachal Pradesh scenes are the sparkling beauty of the acting of Anuja Sathe. This season contains many crime drama elements such as the clash of egos, backstabbing, double-crossing, political meddling in police affairs and the nexus between the underworld and politics. Getting out of by one by one, she finally faces Maksood. Roles played by Lokesh Gupte aka ACP Qureshi make things difficult for Inspe. proceeding as he thinks Inspc. Vikram supports his wife. The political pressure, the politics in every incident taking place related to Ashraf make her stuck to not proceed, but she does not lose hope and continues to take revenge in every possible way. She finally tries to kill Maksood, but instead, she gets killed. The screenplay keeps us engaged in the series. This is one of the unique gangster entertainers that had a female protagonist. At the verse of season 2 . It was apparent that the director duo of Sachin Darekar and Vishal Vimal Modhave had done their homework and it showed right till the climax Overall, a crime-suspense thriller MX-player makes a strong rule overall series. With an IDMB rating of 9.4/10 Do watch it on https://www.mxplayer.in/show/watch-ek-thi-begum-hindi-series-online-6cd0bb2e1c321c81e579275efa38ccd2 Do follow me on Instagram at I'm on Instagram as @neel.deshpande. - “The world has to fight gender inequality together”- Dr Pratik Mungekar
Prof.Dr. Pratik Mungekar participated as a Keynote Speaker in an International Debate between Men & Women & delivered his talk on the Gender gap, Parity, Equity & Equality organized by Successworld1academy He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to queen Nadia Harihar from France for the Invitation. It was an amazing experience for all those who participated. Here is the transcript of his speech. We have achieved much in recent history on the path to gender equality, but we have a long way to go to ensure equal endowments, participation, and voice for women. The stakes are even higher now that the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) is ravaging the world, as times of great crisis often put women on the front lines. Women predominate in key roles as nurses, social workers, and caregivers. They are also working as doctors and volunteers, and as political and community leaders making critical decisions about how to address the public health, social, and economic effects of the crisis. Women’s participation will be vital to our success against this shared global threat. Let us first acknowledge the progress made so far… Today, we tend to take it for granted that women can vote. But - with the exception of a few frontrunners like New Zealand, Australia, and Finland - universal suffrage became a reality only after World War I. Eventually, voting rights for women were introduced into international law in 1948 by the United Nations Commission on Human Rights. Women have also taken advantage of increased opportunities to serve as leaders. In 2019, women held nearly 1 in 4 legislative seats worldwide - more than double their share in 1995. Management positions are also more likely to be held by women now than twenty years ago, though parity is still a long way off. With greater representation comes improved outcomes. Looking at education, the world has seen enormous progress in reducing gaps between girls and boys across a variety of important areas such as enrollment rates and literacy outcomes. In health, fewer mothers are dying in childbirth and significant increases in female life expectancy have followed. With few exceptions, women now outlive men in virtually every country. In terms of labor participation, more women in countries at every level of income have been engaging in economic activities beyond non-market work in the home. Around the world, many national reforms have been enacted in recent years to improve the status of women in the workplace, in marriage, and especially to protect women from violence. Yet, there is still a long way to go… Despite this meaningful progress, important gender gaps remain. These vary in scale from country to country and take different forms - from physical violence and deprivations to unequal opportunities in work or political life. The World Health Organization estimates that over 1 in 3 women worldwide will experience violence in their lifetime. Sadly, the risk of being subjected to violence increases in times of distress, such as the outbreak of COVID-19. The UN Special Rapporteur on violence against women, Dubravka Simonovic, warned that it was “very likely that rates of widespread domestic violence will increase, as already suggested by initial police and hotline reports.” Gender disparities also take shape in unequal opportunities to participate fully in economic life. UN Women found that women are less likely than men to participate in the labor market and more likely to be unemployed. Women are paid less, earning 77 cents to every dollar earned by a man, and bear disproportionate responsibility for unpaid care and domestic work (performing 76 percent of total hours of unpaid care work worldwide). In fact, if women’s unpaid work were assigned a monetary value, one study of six countries has suggested that it would constitute between 10 and 39 percent of GDP. These opportunity gaps suggest that women could be disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Women make up a larger share of health and social care workers around the world: 70 percent in 104 countries. Also, early analysis from the World Bank indicates that those in caregiving roles may face an increased burden in the wake of school closures, with working mothers finding themselves even more stretched than usual in trying to juggle home-based work, home-schooling, childcare, and housework. Inequality of access is also a key concern. Globally, nearly 40 percent of women in wage employment are estimated to lack access to social protection. Women are less likely than men to have access to financial institutions or to have a bank account. Although women-owned enterprises represent more than 30 percent of registered businesses worldwide, only 10 percent of women entrepreneurs have the capital they need to grow their businesses. These gender gaps impose real costs on society… As the World Bank Group’s Women, Business, and the Law 2020 points out, “equality of opportunity is good economics.” Indeed, it is estimated that women’s lagging participation in employment and entrepreneurship cost the world about 15 percent of its GDP. In considering a “full potential” scenario in which women participated in the economy identically to men, McKinsey concluded that this would add $28 trillion (26 percent) to annual global GDP by 2025 as compared to business as usual. Yet when girls are allowed to dream and realize their potential, we are all better off… To quote the famous early 20th century Armenian novelist and activist, Zabel Yesayan, “a woman is not born into this world to be pleasing. A woman is born to develop her mental, moral and physical abilities.” Over the course of history, many women have embarked on a path of self-realization to the benefit of our society. Some are famous, some less so, but each contributed to advancing the world, whether by promoting human rights and peace, forging ahead in science, or serving on the front lines to save human lives and protect public health. Despite the added burdens, crises present an opportunity to improve gender equality… Unfortunately, we are likely to see some setbacks in gender equality during the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath. The European Institute of Gender Equality has stated that the closure or near-closure of businesses could have a severe effect on women-dominated professions (such as flight attendants, hairdressers, and tour operators), and unpaid care work will continue to increase. In highlighting the gendered impact of COVID-19, the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights has stated that, “Targeted measures to address the disproportionate impact of the crisis on women and girls are needed.” The COVID-19 crisis has put unprecedented pressure on governments, development organizations, and communities. While we strive urgently to respond, we should not lose sight of our goal to achieve gender equality. Instead, we should make it part of our overall effort to tackle these unprecedented challenges and come out stronger afterward. We appreciate the recognition by the G7 and W7 that, notwithstanding the progress made by women in the world, we do not have a single country that has achieved gender equality. So we have a lot of work, and the work is universal: whether we are East, West, North, South, rich or poor, these issues bind all of us as humanity. If we think, for instance, of the move from the Millennium Development Goals to the Sustainable Development Goals, one recognition in the Sustainable Development Goals is the universality of the agenda of issues that impact humanity. In the Sustainable Development Goals, we emphasize the importance of climate change. If you mess up your forest in one part of the world, it will mess up people in another part of the world. The issue of peace is also universal. If we do not have peace in one part of the world, no one has peace anywhere in the world. The issue of inequality is universal, between and within countries. The current extent of inequality means that people move around the world looking for means of survival and all of us will have to deal with the issue of inequality. Gender inequality is a universal issue. Women everywhere in the world want equal pay. Women everywhere in the world want to control and decide what to do with their own bodies. And without women in the workplace, everywhere in the world, all of our economies do not grow to the extent that they need to grow. Economic justice facilitates economic growth, and inclusive growth requires more women to be in the workplace. So, there are many common issues that women need to discuss, and that makes the issue of gender equality one of the most globalized issues of our time. Once, the world together fought to end slavery. It was a universal issue. It did not have to be a slave’s fight to end slavery. The world, and the people of good will in the world, united to end it. The world fought racism, colonialism and apartheid together and brought them to an end. It was not just the affected people who fought. The world has to fight gender inequality together. It is not just women who must fight; men and women must fight together for us to achieve the kind of change that we desire. The nice thing is that victory is for all. McKinsey’s research tells us that if women’s economic participation were to be at the same level as men's, by 2025 there is a cool $28 trillion could be added to the world’s economic growth. It requires all of us to want to do something about that to achieve change for all of us. We have just come out of two very meaningful engagements as UN Women. The first is the UN Secretary-General’s High-Level Panel on Women’s Economic Empowerment, which looked at barriers to women’s economic empowerment and participation, starting from the barriers that are experienced by girls, such as in education, child marriage, and the different violations that girls experience that stop them from realizing their potential. We have also just finished the 61st session of the Commission on the Status of Women, where we looked at women in the changing world of work. These two dialogues reached the same conclusions: the importance of macroeconomic policies that recognize the role and the participation of women, starting with issues like gender-responsive budgeting. Those macroeconomic policies recognize that all countries have babies, babies need childcare, and childcare needs to be accessible and affordable, otherwise millions and millions of women cannot participate effectively politically and economically. The fact that in most countries looking after children is a private matter for women is a barrier to their full economic participation. Men have to work so hard to become corporate animals and do not have time to be fathers. That stops them from being able to contribute to the care services of the family and in the process, stops women from being able to participate in the labour market. So, this is a change that must happen: more men in the care economy, and more women in the labour market. We also found, in the work that we did both in the High-Level Panel and in the Commission on the Status of Women, the importance of women controlling their own bodies; having autonomy without discrimination; having access and respect for their rights, both sexual and reproductive rights, and having access to services. The unmet needs of women, in the area for instance of family planning, are such that many women are having children that they do not want, that they cannot afford, only because we are unable to give them the much-needed lifesaving services that organizations such as UNFPA provide. We also uncovered in the discussion and the work something that we all know; the importance of equal pay and of the fact that men and women alike want to be paid wages that are equal to the contribution that we make. That is not too much to ask for any worker. Up to now, that right does not exist for women in most parts of the world; this is a great robbery. We are therefore calling for governments, private sector, and ourselves to mobilize appropriately to change this. Of course, most women are at the base of the income pyramid, which means that they are underpaid and they are also in work for which there is no minimum wage. Those women caught on what we call the “sticky floors”, cannot rise up, and will always live closer to poverty than prosperity. So, laws and facilitation of minimum wages are critical to moving women past the sticky floors, just as women on boards and women executives play a critical role in making sure that the glass ceiling—and the steel ceiling, for that matter—are removed. These are some of the examples that are universal, that we can all work on in every part of the world. I want to salute all the men who are in the room. The role of men and boys is critical. To the extent that there is historic affirmative action everywhere in the world—which is why they are where they are—we need men to turn the terms around and make sure that there is affirmative action for women and we can have equality for all. Thank you.
- The best is the enemy of good!- Arunima Jha
I am not saying that stop being the best but what I mean is stop expecting to be the best from the get-go. I always believed that perfectionism is a good thing. Perfectionism basically means whatever you do has to be perfect and what could possibly be wrong with this? Perhaps, perfectionism sometimes subconsciously holds me back, preventing me to try new things or leaving things that I had just started. My battle with perfectionism and the lessons that I have hugely learned from most successful people. Listening to an interview by Elon Musk, I couldn't help wondering how can a perfectionist like him, can set himself the most ridiculous goals like sending a rocket to space to achieve it. While, I strive to perform simple tasks like writing an article or making a video and feel cripplingly inadequate or underqualified to an extent that I procrastinate or worse, stop trying altogether. So what differentiates these perfectionists who manage to do everything from me? Digging a little further, I realized maybe they aren't really a perfectionist they are when they first appear, perhaps the reality is that they are the impatient brains who are blind to their iterations, failings, or rejections, their hardships and imperfections have been deleted, and turned into a much simpler and easier story of overnight success. From Zuckerberg to Musk, we all can definitely learn from their tireless pushing, not for perfection, but to get better, to get closer.
