  • When you have an idea, experiment with it : Arunima Jha

"Be constant. Focus on what you really like, set small goals and enjoy every victory." thsese are concluding lines with our last interaction with Arunima Jha . With recent interaction with Team Stay Featured in collaboration with SMMH group , Arunima Jha answered lot of queries of newbie , We are happy to bring it in front of our readers What has been your biggest customer success collaboration story? Why do you think it was a success? I started blogging in the year 2020 and after a couple of months, I didn’t want to do it alone. So, I officially started collaborating with brands and it wasn’t magical always but it did give me the push I needed to officially start my page Trulynomdalychic. My main objective was to maintain the quality and flow of my content. I feel all my collaborations were a success story in themselves and they definitely helped me connect with so many amazing people whom I would have never met otherwise. That’s what was rewarding for me. However, if I must be selective and choose one brand I would say “Sugar Cosmetics”. It featured me as a wonder woman who had to embrace those not-always-applauded qualities and put my true feelings out there as my genuine self. The idea in particular was to give my female audience the voice to be unapologetically themselves. After all our imperfections are what makes us all different, pretty and of course strong. I consider it as my biggest success collab story, it gave a reason to my audience to stick around, dig deeper into my archives and help me sustain myself, making it a more meaningful experience. How did you grow your channel before collaboration? My mantra in life is “if you’re passionate about something, let it shine through every aspect of your life”. I wasn’t really focused on gaining followers when I started my journey initially, but I wanted to stick to my opinion, my voice and tap into being my genuine self. People like consistency. I have focused on being consistent, it really helped me have the momentum going for both me and my audience. I just kept going and creating videos, no matter how irrelevant or small. Today when I look back I am amazed at how far I have come. Money and business are secondary. Keep going and staying true is what matters. I have been conscious enough not to compare myself with established bloggers but one common trait that I was aware about each blogger (small or established) is that they all started out with nothing, no traffic, no idea, no blog. Right? I guess I had my friends and my family subscribing to my content and of course a bunch of other acquaintances I knew. I started with zero and today I have around 24k on my Instagram. So I cannot really give you a mantra for success but what I can tell you for sure is that if you don’t start, you won’t get it. What advice do you have give people who are trying to gain a following on social media? The world needs you. Covid-19 really got us into crazy times with so many unforeseeable changes. With economy getting damaged, physical isolation, the world today needs a virtual space where one can feel safe and they can find they’re belonging. Blogging can be really rewarding if you can inspire and educate people and give others a sense of belonging. Lend your voice for a meaningful cause. Having a significant purpose for blogging will sustain you and your blog through hard times. Writing down your thoughts in a public forum for others not only opens the window for interaction but can also have a positive impact on someone. Which other social media influencers would you collaborate with? I learn and grow so much from the creativity of numerous bloggers I connect with and get exposed to new & fresh perspectives. So, no special choice here. What 3 things does anyone starting in your industry need to know? 1) People believe luck is random, I believe lucky things happen to you by creating conscious habits. 2) Most of us are wired to avoid problems, we see them as roadblocks but honestly, they’re springboards to opportunity. 3) When you have an idea, experiment with it. How to maintain safety of female and genuine account which are need of the hour for newbie? While the internet has given us varied opportunities, it can also be a space where many feel unsafe given the harassment that it is all too common. On social media platforms, harassment and safety is a major concern especially for females. I personally use ‘Two-factor Authentication’ as an extra layer of security. As a blogger I do not have the privilege to maintain a private account so Report a Comment, Restrict or Block is my go to strategy. • Positivity and Positive Mindset is Vital For Parenting: Outcome of 13th Episode -THUNDERBOLTS

POSITIVE THOUGHTS CONSULTING & TRAINING SOLUTIONS broadcasted its 13th Episode of THUNDERBOLTS, on 19th Sept 2021 @ 6:00 PM IST. Positive Thoughts Family is a global community from PAN India and almost 40 different countries, on a mission to learn, connect, share, and bridge the gap between Brands/Organizations/Nations and will work on the Mission of Empowerment for” STRESS-FREE EDUCATION & LIFE.” For the 13th Episode of THUNDERBOLTS, Ms Tiffany Ann Alice Brewer was invited to speak on the vital topic which is the need of the hour “How to Have a Positive Mindset as a Parent”. The Trainer, Ms Tiffany Ann Alice Brewer is an Ex- Cabin Crew member, a Parenting Coach, Phonics Expert, Mom Blogger & is also pursuing Early Education in Pre and Primary School. Being focused on parenting, education and women empowerment, she believes in living and let others live too. Spreading joy and empowerment are what she lives for on daily basis. The show was hosted by Ms Christine D’Costa. She is an International Teacher Trainer, Soft Skills Trainer and Founder of Morning Star Pre-Primary School & CESA Academy. She began the session of Thunderbolts by introducing Dr Gaurav Sharma, the Founder & CEO of Positive Thoughts and sailed through his journey of finding his purpose in life and building a community of like-minded people filled with motivation and satisfaction. Ms Tiffany is an Ex-Aviator for 9 years who swapped her career amidst the pandemic to spend more time with her son and is now spreading awareness on a Parent’s involvement in Early Child Development. She started with thanks to Dr Gaurav Sharma for creating this wonderful platform. She unveiled that for her personally Positivity or Positive Mindset is the way one use themselves in any situation and what one would be able to do if the odds are not in their favour. This would help them to not lose faith & hope and they would just move ahead. She added that as a parent, we become more focused on trying to make the child happy that at times the parents burn out and lose the positivity that is supposed to be within. This creates a very stressful environment as parents are keener on continuously giving. She highlighted that Positive Mindset as a parent starts from the parent and Parenting is actually a ‘Parent becoming a parent and not only raising a child’. As a parent we should be constantly aware of our personality and how we are supposed to give in to the parenting and raising our children in the journey, to handle hurdles and issues, celebrating their success. She stated that Parenting is a Roller-Coaster ride as the situation could not be the same even if you have one or more child as every child is different than other and so are the parents. One needs to condition themselves and have calmness and imbibe the quality. In the Positive Mindset as a Parent one needs to give themselves the time no matter whether one is a working parent or stay at home. One of the ways to ensure is to focus on what positive you have in your life. Gratitude is the first and the foremost thing, as when one is humble one would be more grounded and this gratitude and humanity would teach the child the same as you are modelling the same behaviour. The second is to reward oneself with ‘ME’ time. As a parent one is constantly on the toes managing all activities and things be it managing home, work, children, family and other activities. In all this, one tends to forget and miss the uninterrupted time to rejuvenate and recharge themselves. To be an effective parent, one needs to remain calm and remind yourself that each day would be better and one needs to be flexible enough and prioritise handling the activities. She shared an example of a family with a sick parents who started to pass on the frustration on the children. The children were unable to understand the disconnect in the behaviour and ultimately this lead to doing stuff which they would have not done under the normal conditions. One should always tune in and create an atmosphere that you are interested in your child and we do have a connection with them and they need us more and we must have open communication to have consistency and life full of content and peace of mind. She mentioned that it is important to appreciate your children for their efforts as when your child say thanks to you, you would feel. With the appreciation for the efforts, the children would constantly try to better themselves and ultimately excel. Success is not to be judged by the result but with the effort done for the upliftment. Never overpraise to avoid them missing to keep up but reinforce their confidence and values. Create the space and give them the freedom to believe in themselves. This would bring respect for you as a parent. The highlight was the ICE (Instantly Connect and Empathise) Technique whenever your child has misbehaved. This is done to check to find the root cause of the problem. The foundation of the relationship would become more strong and your child would be empowered and responsible for their behaviour. She emphasized that laying the boundary is very important to understand and respect the guidelines creating responsibility and accountability for the action because you have laid trust in them. Now, is a completely different generation, more inclined to the technology and we as a parent need to understand and mould ourselves accordingly. Whale Done Approach can help you to bring positive reinforcement and redirection which can help to bring the best out of your parenting journey. At the closing, Ms Ina Singh, Co-Chair of Positive Thoughts gave the vote of thanks to Ms Tiffany Ann Alice Brewer for giving her precious time on Thunderbolts and shared her insights on this crucial topic – ‘How to Have a Positive Mindset as a Parent’. • In conversation with Ex-IAF Wing Commander & Author Amit Kumar Goswami

Amit Kumar Goswami is a quiet person who likes to steer clear of controversies and arguments. He is a sensitive observer and his pen does the storytelling about what he observes while never being judgemental. His infective emotional intensity makes the reader involved enough to mentally participate in the story he tells. Perhaps he carries the genes of literature in his blood. Born in 1947 in the family of a very middle-class family of educationists, he grew up in a literary environment. His father was a scholar and a writer who taught Bengali literature in an eminent university as the Head of the Department. His maternal grandfather and an uncle were also renowned professors and authors. He did his master’s degree in English literature. But some other things he has in his genes that he did not inherit. It is his spirit of adventure and undying wanderlust. This prompted him to join the Indian Air Force as a commissioned officer in 1970. In the IAF he did his duties well, but he never allowed the sensitivity of mind to die off in the rough and tough military environment. The frequent postings all over India allowed him to know people of different states as they are right in their homes. He realised that the joys and sorrows of all are the same despite their cultural and language differences. In the secular environment of the Armed Forces, he participated in Durga Puja, Gurupurav, Christmas and Eid with equal fervour endearing himself to all. On the other hand, his sensitive heart absorbed all the pain and fears while looking after the young family of his friend when the friend never returned home after an air crash. Once he had to do a so-called puja and pose as a Guru to convince a young mother when no one was able to take away the body of her dead child from her lap. He is a die-hard learner and he learnt varied subjects and excelled wherever his colourful career took him. During the last leg of service, he was deeply into the indigenous substitution of expensive airborne spares and other imported military wares. After retirement, he manufactured bulletproof jackets, sold life insurance and mutual funds, gave consultancy on establishing and running a tourist resort, advised on health through the practice of reiki, molecular Ayurveda and much more. All these immensely enriched his mind. He communicates well and makes friends easily. He can set the frequency with old and young with equal ease. Perhaps that is why he avoids mentioning his rank of Wing Commander to appear as close to the next-door neighbour as possible. Now right at the ripe old age of 73, he drives around different places of the Himalayas to communicate with nature and God. He also likes to share his rich experience through his writings. “Rear View Mirror” is the first book which he has recently published and many more will follow. These are some of the glimpses of our conversation About your birthplace and childhood Our family has been one of the very old residents of Kolkata. I know that my grandfather and father had their own independent houses to live in. When I was born in 1947, my father was a lecturer of Bengali literature in a college, and my mother was a homemaker. Ours had been a simple middle-class family who could not boast of wealth. But I received a lot of love and affection from my family. By their example, they taught me to live happily with whatever I had and remain peaceful. Through storytelling, my mother instilled honesty and high moral value in me. When I was seven years old, my grandmother, whom I loved dearly, expired. But before that, every evening she used to tell me stories from Ramayana and Mahabharata. Without being conscious, the stories taught me to be responsible and respectful to elders. My father sowed the seeds of my love for literature at that early age by reading out classical Bengali poetry to me at bed time. Why did you choose to be an IAF Officer breaking your family tradition? Children inherit their genes from their mother’s side as well as from their father’s side. I have already talked about my father, who had been a home-bound educationist. But I inherited my love for adventure, tenacity and passion for English literature from my maternal grandfather. Though he, too, had been an educationist and author, his early life had been full of unbelievable adventures. In a story titled “Perseverance Pays” in my book “Rear View Mirror”, I have written about him exclusively. His influence made me interested in action-packed outdoor life. Therefore, when I grew up, I opted to join the IAF, instead of going in for a teaching career. Your short introduction as an author and Ex IAF officer. I was not retired out of the IAF on superannuation, but I asked for and took voluntary retirement. My principal aim for seeking early retirement was to help growing children who were at the critical stage of career selection then. Secondly, having earned the pension to cover my basic needs, I wanted to venture out to add more dimensions to my professional life and experience. At the age of 49 years, I retired from the IAF. After that, I have worked at various places on different unconnected but interesting jobs and businesses. In the bargain, I toured many countries in the world. Finally, at around the age of 70 years, I settled down and turned to write fiction as an author. For me, life has been pretty colourful and rewarding. About your struggles and achievements. I may admit that I did not have to struggle at any stage of life. As soon as my student life got completed with an M.A. degree under my belt, I was employed in the IAF, a government organisation, where promotions came when due provided one has performed consistently well. Later the service pension had been adequate to maintain my low profile simple life. Within a week of my retirement, I was taken as a partner in a private limited company manufacturing bullet-proof jackets. As an author, I publish my books on a “Self-Publishing” basis. As long I pay for publication, I do not need to struggle. I keep the selling price of my books at the bare minimum level so that people can afford to buy them without a second thought. As a result, neither I make a worthwhile earning from the sale of my books, nor do I depend on it. Writing and publishing books is my current passion. I need to pay from my pocket more often than not to maintain this pursuit. I reckon, establishing my two children well in their lives has been my most significant achievement in life. As regards my work, I have always worked with a missionary zeal in whichever field I worked in. Small success kept happening now and then, and I never failed in my work. Retiring from each type of work with unblemished records is what makes me satisfied. At my current advanced age, I consider the combination of living a joyous life and enjoying a sound health condition is nothing short of an achievement. I do not know, how many people can boast of such kind of achievement in the present times. The purpose behind your first book. If you recall Maslow’s “Needs Hierarchy”, you will know that when someone has fulfilled his physiological, safety, love and esteem needs, all that remains for him is to fulfil his self-actualization need. I knew that I had the potential of writing well, and I had gathered enough exciting materials during my working life, to write on. Therefore, I started sharing my real-life experiences with all my readers. Today, the number of books sold in a month does not give me that happiness, as the high I get from positive reviews offered by my readers, saying that they have thoroughly enjoyed reading my books. Short inspirational note to the readers of your story. I believe that each human being is a unique creation of God and everyone has some extraordinary calibre in him. The trick is to find out that calibre. The best way to utilise what God has gifted us is to identify one’s genuine passion early in life and make a future career out of it. One can always remain energetic and enthusiastic about his work as long as he remains engaged in doing what he loves to do. To my mind, this is the only way to reach the pinnacle of success in life with complete satisfaction. Being a single parent, her mother was quite protective about her. She did not let her go to school once she heard that two girls had been abducted from her school. Thus, she began to help her mother in her household chores and her small business of waste management. It was at this very tender age that she was exposed to entrepreneurship. This experience came handy when she ran her own fashion boutique later. She was barely 15 when she returned to Mumbai in search of her Parsi father. To survive, she had to do many odd jobs including that of a police informer. In lieu of food and shelter, she had to do household chores in the landlady’s house till she got some decent standing in the Maximum City.
