What has been your biggest customer success collaboration story? Why do you think it was a success?

I started blogging in the year 2020 and after a couple of months, I didn’t want to do it alone. So, I officially started collaborating with brands and it wasn’t magical always but it did give me the push I needed to officially start my page Trulynomdalychic. My main objective was to maintain the quality and flow of my content. I feel all my collaborations were a success story in themselves and they definitely helped me connect with so many amazing people whom I would have never met otherwise. That’s what was rewarding for me. However, if I must be selective and choose one brand I would say “Sugar Cosmetics”. It featured me as a wonder woman who had to embrace those not-always-applauded qualities and put my true feelings out there as my genuine self. The idea in particular was to give my female audience the voice to be unapologetically themselves. After all our imperfections are what makes us all different, pretty and of course strong. I consider it as my biggest success collab story, it gave a reason to my audience to stick around, dig deeper into my archives and help me sustain myself, making it a more meaningful experience.

How did you grow your channel before collaboration?

My mantra in life is “if you’re passionate about something, let it shine through every aspect of your life”. I wasn’t really focused on gaining followers when I started my journey initially, but I wanted to stick to my opinion, my voice and tap into being my genuine self. People like consistency. I have focused on being consistent, it really helped me have the momentum going for both me and my audience. I just kept going and creating videos, no matter how irrelevant or small. Today when I look back I am amazed at how far I have come. Money and business are secondary. Keep going and staying true is what matters. I have been conscious enough not to compare myself with established bloggers but one common trait that I was aware about each blogger (small or established) is that they all started out with nothing, no traffic, no idea, no blog. Right? I guess I had my friends and my family subscribing to my content and of course a bunch of other acquaintances I knew. I started with zero and today I have around 24k on my Instagram. So I cannot really give you a mantra for success but what I can tell you for sure is that if you don’t start, you won’t get it.

What advice do you have give people who are trying to gain a following on social media?

The world needs you. Covid-19 really got us into crazy times with so many unforeseeable changes. With economy getting damaged, physical isolation, the world today needs a virtual space where one can feel safe and they can find they’re belonging. Blogging can be really rewarding if you can inspire and educate people and give others a sense of belonging. Lend your voice for a meaningful cause. Having a significant purpose for blogging will sustain you and your blog through hard times. Writing down your thoughts in a public forum for others not only opens the window for interaction but can also have a positive impact on someone.

Which other social media influencers would you collaborate with?

I learn and grow so much from the creativity of numerous bloggers I connect with and get exposed to new & fresh perspectives. So, no special choice here.

What 3 things does anyone starting in your industry need to know?

1) People believe luck is random, I believe lucky things happen to you by creating conscious habits.

2) Most of us are wired to avoid problems, we see them as roadblocks but honestly, they’re springboards to opportunity.

3) When you have an idea, experiment with it.

How to maintain safety of female and genuine account which are need of the hour for newbie?

While the internet has given us varied opportunities, it can also be a space where many feel unsafe given the harassment that it is all too common. On social media platforms, harassment and safety is a major concern especially for females. I personally use ‘Two-factor Authentication’ as an extra layer of security. As a blogger I do not have the privilege to maintain a private account so Report a Comment, Restrict or Block is my go to strategy.
