No University is genuinely global without Indian Students studying at them, said Marc P. Christensen, President of the USA based 125 years old Clarkson University. Dr Marc P. Christensen was in Hyderabad on a day’s visit as part of a four-city tour to India to explore the Indian Market. He and his Indian wife, Seema Grover Christensen, who moved to the USA 50 years ago were at Indo Global Studies at CoWorks in Sky View in Gachibowli. India is a very big nation with a lot of potential for students who are willing to study abroad. With 60 million students graduating each year, India is the tiger. Nearly two lakh students travel to the USA every year to study there. Clarkson had the first Indian student studying on campus way back in 1964. Since then many have studied with them. But, the university never explored this market consciously. “No University is truly a global university without a good number of Indian students studying with them,” Christensen said. And he added, “If you want to be a global University, you need to recruit Indian students, particularly those from Telangana.” Now, as Clarkson expands its footprint to India and recruits students at our University, our colleague, Colleen Flynn Thapalia, Senior Director visited India, Hyderabad four times in the last seven months and speaks about the potential of this market. added Marc. In a first-of-its-kind initiative in FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO), Hyderabad Chapter a group of 75 members of Hyderabad visited the Parliament House in New Delhi on Tuesday. The objective of the visit was to familiarise its members with Parliament Procedures and witness Parliament Session. The building itself is a historic one and is a colonial-era building. Further witnessing the Parliament House of the largest Republic and the largest democracy of the world is an experience of a different kind, shares Shubhraa Maheshwari, FLO Chairperson. The group witnessed Loksabha session sessions twice. It is an unusual opportunity. Normally we get to meet only a couple of MPs or Ministers at a time. Seeing hundreds of Parliamentarians working together in the Lower house was a unique and exhilarating experience, said Shubhraa Maheshwari, FLO Chairperson who led the delegation to the Parliament House. Well, I am very very late to review this film , but yes , after so many days , watched this beautiful film , with a strong message , awsome VFX and a nice story. The main characters are Varun Dhawan aka Bhaskar and Kriti Sanon as Dr.Anika and the whole film is shooted in Arunanchal Pradesh. The film is produced by Jio Studios , Maddock Films and Dinesh Vijan , directed by Amar Kaushik and written by Niren Bhatt. The film narrates us about the care, affection of animals towards us and vice-versa. The plot builds up through Varun Dhawan business of construction of roads and ends as Bhediya. Talking about the roles , Varun Dhawan is an excellent actor and has given many best hits , talking about this film we see his energy with high level. The level of energy he has put is hats off. Kriti Sanon , is playing as a doctor and we see a great twist after the interval. And that twist is really unexpected. Her caring role as doctor , and the love bells ringing between them , again makes us soothing and a watchable film. Talking about the VFX , it is fablous. The transformation of Bhediya is really awsome and flawless. The coreography is nice , songs lets you bring the aura of the film together and just feels good to watch. The supporting actors like Nowit Sabhi as also played a major role , and keeping the film more engaging to watch. The story seems to be incomplete or less focused , but the VFX made it put over that. It is a nice film to watch.

FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) organised an interactive session with ISB Alumni, Ankur Warikoo in the city on Saturday. About a hundred FLO members attended the session. A serial entrepreneur, author, educator and content creator, Ankur Warikoo was in conversation with Shubhraa Maheshwari, Chairperson of FLO. In a freewheel and half-hour chat, he made interesting revelations of many routine things of life. For instance, in reply to a question on the rule book on parenting, he said. the only rule book for parenting is to stop being a parent. There is too much parenting, but still, we have so many problems with our young generation. Parenting is the single biggest responsibility on the earth. But it is left to parents to learn on the job. There is no formal training. In many cases, a lot of parents are emotionally not available when the kids need them the most. Allow children to explore life on their own. God doesn't teach them. They learn many thing by looking at and observing their parents. Being good, doing good, and being inspirational is the best thing a parent can do for his or her child. Because, the children are the reflection of their parents. Further, he observed that the parent's generation suffered because of the scarcity of things and facilities. but, this current generation is suffering from abundance. Speaking further Ankur, 42, born in Kashmiri and grew up in Delhi, said the one year he spent studying at ISB in Hyderabad changed his life. He shared his life journey with the participants. Recalling his stay in Hyderabad, he said, it is a dear city to him. Whatever I am today because of what ISB gave to me, he told his audience. I was born in a middle-class family. I was confused about life. I wanted to become a Space Scientist. It went to the USA to pursue my dream at a very good University. But, I realized that I was not happy. I came back to India dropping myself from the Ph. D in the AstroPhysics program, much to the shock of my parents. He said, "what you are good at is different from what you are happy with". I was totally confused. That is when I got enrolled at ISB for management studies. I tried a couple of jobs as a consultant. Then I started a start-up. I built several startups in due course. I stepped down as CEO of my startup. I began my journey as a content creator at the age of 40, he shared. Ankur Warikoo is now a YouTuber, entrepreneur and author. He is the former CEO of Groupon India, and co-founder & former CEO of Nearbuy. He is the author of two books--Do Epic Shit, Get Epic Shit Done. Speaking to Shubhraa he gave three tips to be a successful entrepreneur. Building something that helps people will work for you. Build a good organisation culture from the very first day so that culture will bail you out in crisis. Get prepared to handle when things go wrong, which inevitably go wrong when trying out entrepreneurship. You cannot live an air-purified life. You must get trained to handle the difficulties of life, he said. Later he answered the questions of the participants. The training was organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Chanadrapur, Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, Govt. of India. The course duration is for three months and it is free of cost. The participants are provided certificates after course completion that can be used by the women to apply for loans and start their small ventures. I learn from each incident and persons around me. During these three months of course I was invited once a month to interact with the women and help them in improving communication skills. Now some you may be wondering what is the need for communication skills in embroidery training. Communication skills are needed by everyone. Students, educators, entrepreneurs, homemakers, and everyone on this globe cannot survive without communication skills. These skills boost your success. I have been attending the entrepreneurship development program by Nehru Yuva Kendra for the last few years. I like interacting with women and sharing my knowledge with them. These programs generally train the women on any one skill and along with this they arrange small events for their holistic development. For instance, women are given the responsibility of celebrating a day of national importance. The women under the guidance of the teacher arrange the function, some of them do the decoration, some will arrange for games and some will handle the stage. They invite renowned persons of the village and the officers of Nehru Yuva Kendra for the function. In the three months duration, each one of them gets a chance to organize a small function. The women develop confidence through these small initiatives. Therefore when the women finish their course they have the skill and the confidence to face the world. Many organizations are working to make women self-reliant by giving those skills like tailoring, fashion designing, food processing, and many more. Through this article I want to convey that along with the course we should work on making women more confident. The certificate you give after the completion of the course can help the women in starting a business but the confidence and courage you will impart through the activities will help them to grow their business. As people have realized the importance of education, the ratio of educated women has increased in the last decade. But a degree or a certificate is not sometimes sufficient to get a good job. However in the present era, we talk of becoming self-reliant and encouraging people to be job givers, the degree and certificates are not enough. Everyone should give equal importance to soft and hard skills as well. We can get knowledge about these skills in some classes and develop them throughout our life experiences. I strongly believe that collaboration is the key to development.
