  • A clean sweep for Men in Blue

The year didn't start well for Indian cricket fans, the last test victory had come for the Indian team in the boxing day test against the Protea team. Post that India lost the lead, as well as the series against Proteas when they were firm favourites. What made the fans even sadder was the fact that Virat Kohli, the captain who brought the glory to the tests back stepped down from the role. The runners-up in ICC test championship were waiting for one opportunity to get back to their winning habit. And they did it in style against the Srilankan lions. A lot of changes were made in the team before the series. The limited over captain Rohit Sharma was made the captain of the Indian contingent for red-ball cricket. The experienced players like Rahane and Pujara, who are exceptional contributors to India's test side were dropped from the side. For the first time after 98 matches, India was playing without either of the test specialists of India. But despite all this happening, India roared back in style. The series witnessed the two milestone matches for India's two most significant contributors at this moment. The master of centuries and King Kohli accomplished a unique feat of completing his century of Test matches in the first match which happened at Mohali. And the highest individual runscorer in limited over, the very own Hitman played his overall 400th match in the same series. Apart from the brilliant batting which both have displayed, one would see them quash the rift rumours when Rohit Sharma sent Virat back, only to allow give him a well-deserved guard of honour in his 100th match. The series was very important to boost the morale of the Indian team considering the ongoing Test Championship. India lived up to the expectations of being favourites in this series. The most pleasing thing to witness in this series was the performance of the youth. Shreyas Iyer grabbed the opportunity with both arms and made a statement. His innings of 92 in the first innings of the Bengaluru test match was turned the tide in India's favour. One of the greatest thinkers and contributors in recent times Hanuma Vihari yet again showed the team why he is an important member of the squad. Rishabh Pant as usual played with fire, just the way he wants, but his approach has done more good than harm to India in tests. The return of Ravindra Jadeja was something India was waiting for, and when it happened, he made sure he makes his fans happy with his performance. In this series, he made sure he is treated as a specialist batter too. His innings of 175 not out gave a glimpse of it, and also showed his selflessness when he decided to declare the innings. Furthermore, his contribution to the bowl was something India missed during the period he was not playing and enjoyed watching during the series. He accomplished his dream of scoring a century and grabbing a five-wicket haul in the same match. He played his role to perfection. R Ashwin has always played a vital role in the team's success. Also, he did what he is known for, breaking records. In the previous match, he broke the record of grabbing more wickets than legendary Kapil Dev, thereby becoming the second-highest wicket-taker for India. Today he surpassed the wicket tally of Dale Steyn. Jasprit Bumrah showed the world why he is one of the finest bowlers when he grabbed a 5-wicket hall on a Bengaluru pitch which hardly offered anything for the pacers. All in all, India didn't just make a comeback after the Protea series loss but heavily redeemed it to make their case strong for World Test Championship. Although it came in the home conditions, a win is a win, and with it, Rohit Sharma started his test career as a skipper with a clean sweep. Although one would've expected a tough fight from the Srilankan team, the matches were good for Indian fans. The only regret from this series for the fans is not being able to witness the 71st century from the world's best batter. But sooner or later, it will come. • Dr Pratik Mungekar honoured with The Royal Honorary Doctorate

The 6th International Conference of Medicinal Plant and Traditional Herbal Lotion of our country was held on 20 - 21 February 2022. Dr Pratik Rajan Mungekar represented India as a Keynote Speaker and successfully delivered his presentation on THE ROLE OF MEDICINAL PLANTS IN THE HEALTH CARE AND RURAL ECONOMY IN THE TRIBALS OF SATPURA PLATEAU REGION OF CENTRAL INDIA. On 10th Feb 2022 The 6th International conference closing ceremony was happened virtually and in that ceremony, Dr Pratik Rajan Mungekar has been Honoured & conferred upon with the Royal Honorary Doctorate by The Royal University of Human Nutrition and Food Safety Sciences, the Academy of the World of Food Security and Social Peace, the International Intelligence Academy, and the Kingdom of Knowledge for Training and Consultations, Tunisia in the esteemed presence of CEO and President Dr Wassef Youssef Elabed. Let's read the scholarly article by Dr .Pratik Rajan Mungekar THE ROLE OF MEDICINAL PLANTS IN THE HEALTH CARE AND RURAL ECONOMY IN THE TRIBALS OF SATPURA PLATEAU REGION OF CENTRAL INDIA PROF.DR.PRATIK RAJAN MUNGEKAR Madhya Pradesh is a veritable niche of growing healing herbs, which are being used, in the Indian system of medicine like Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani. The plants, shrubs, roots of immense medicinal value are abundantly found in Satpura, Vindhyachal, Amarkantak, Pachmarhi and Patalkot areas. Madhya Pradesh has got 1,35,164 Sq. Km of forests which accounts for 30.48% of the total geographical area of the state. Medicinal and aromatic plants are important products found in forest areas throughout Madhya Pradesh from the plains to the hills. More than 80 per cent of the people in Madhya Pradesh, (India) rely on herbal remedies as a principal means of preventing and curing illnesses and following the traditional system of medicine. There are several advantages to such systems: the plants involved are readily available, are easy to transport, and do not spoil quickly. Remedies based on these plants often have minimal side effects, and the relatively high cost of synthetic medicines often makes traditional herbal medicines an affordable choice for the poor in these lands. India’s traditional medical systems are part of a time-honoured and time-tested culture that still intrigues people today. A culture that has successfully used nature to treat primary and complex ailments for over 3,000 years has contemporary relevance. Satpura plateau is a remarkable place, not only because of the more tribal population and dense forest but also has a lot of rare and useful natural resources including some rare species of medicinal plants, which are used for curing different kinds of diseases. Tribals and forests are symbiotically related. The tribal communities in the Satpura plateau occupy forested regions. They have lived in isolation but harmony with nature. They draw their sustenance largely from the forests. Even in areas where forests do not exist, they visit distant forests periodically and try to get their traditional requirement. They have a very close linkage with the forest, which they regard as their mother deity. A perusal of literature revealed that some work has been done on ethnomedicinal plants of Madhya Pradesh (Rai and Pandey, 1997; Pandey, 2000; Rai et al. 2000). The present study aims to identify and prepare an inventory of various medicinal plant species used by the tribals of the Satpura plateau of central India to cure their various ailments. During the Study number of extensive and periodical surveys were conducted during 1999-2001 among the Gond, Bharia and Koru tribes, inhabiting the forest areas of Chhindwara, Senoi, Betul and Hosangabad districts of Madhya Pradesh. Information about ethnomedicinal uses of the plants was collected from the tribal physicians (vaidyas), tribal head man (Mukhia), aged tribals, and further confirmed with herbalists. The plants are enumerated alphabetically along with their botanical names, vernacular names, major uses, dosage and mode of administration for treating diseases. Discussion and conclusion Based on the present study, it has been found that the tribal community of central India is rich in ethnobiological knowledge, which has been transmitted from one generation to another. The present study also revealed that the tribal communities living in the same region have their traditional ethnobotanical knowledge. The methods used for curing diseases are different from one community to another. This is because of their socio-economic structure, ancient traditional knowledge and beliefs. Their livelihood is dependent on their ecological surroundings and they use simple technology to sustain their life, which seems conservative. The present study emphasized that there is a profound and growing knowledge gap between old and younger generations. People of more than 50-65 years of age know a lot about wild plant products as compared to the younger generation (Pandey and Bisaria, 1997). Earlier the tribals of the region were harvesting the medicinal plants at a particular time and date and time only and have a belief that at this particular time it has more therapeutic value. It is evident from modern science that at a particular time the herb contains optimum active ingredients. These types of traditional harvesting practices will help provide quality raw material on a sustainable basis and tools for conservation. The efforts are being made to document such non-destructive traditional harvesting practices for conservation as well as regulated and sustainable harvest. Considering conservation priorities, medicinal plant species yielding bark, root, gum, rhizome, flowers and whole plant as useful products glamourn the manufacture of herbal drugs are more important. The destructive extraction of these resources disturb the habitat of the species e.g., Terminalia arjuna, Sterculia urens, Boswellia serrata, Gloriosa superba, Costus speciosus, Curcuma amada, Curcuma caesia, Curcuma angustifolia, Dioscoria sp. and Rauvolfia serpentina. The medicinal plants provide numerous opportunities for the state to advance rural well being. Because medicinal plants are one of the few natural products that sell at premium prices. Thus, the global clamor for more herbal ingredients creates possibilities for the commercial cultivation of medicinal crops. Such endeavours could help raise rural employment in developing countries, boost commerce around the world, and perhaps contribute to the health of millions. The tribals of the region are still collecting, gums, leaves, bark, flowers, and fruits of various medicinal plants to supplement their income. Medicinal plants and their various products can be viewed as important commodity items for the sustainable economic development of the region. There is also a need for organized marketing and trade of medicinal plants and their various products so that the collector should get a remunerative price for his collection. It is suggested that initiative should be taken at the government level for deciding minimum support price for medicinal plants like crops to avoid the involvement of middlemen. The information as an outcome of the study will serve as a useful tool to botanists, pharmacologists, phytochemists, a practitioner of herbal medicine, foresters, planners and administrators in the preparation of action and development plans for the conservation as well as herbal drug industry in the tribal tracts for providing self-employment opportunities and improving and uplifting the life, economy and social status of the tribal and rural populations. • Journey of Entrepreneurship & its challenges in a Diversified Indian market. By Vinutha Nagaraju

Team Eduthon writing this to express our sincere gratitude to our readers for making the Aprajita Awards season 1 possible. We were thrilled and deeply appreciative of your support. We received valuable thoughts from Vinutha Nagaraju who grabbed her first-ever award in the Entrepreneurship category Let's read what she said. How are you feeling about winning your first-ever entrepreneurship Award? I would like to share a word of thanks to the "Aparajita Awards 2022" jury for recognizing me as the young entrepreneur of the year. It gives me immense pleasure & confidence as I receive this award. It’s a boost & surge of immense confidence for me as getting this award gives me self-belief & also a motivating factor to push a little harder on my path to creating a plainer sailing system in the society of farmers and agricultural system. What is your opinion about Gender Equality and Diversity as a woman entrepreneur? So, in a society where the responsibilities of the genders are not quite the same. Coming into entrepreneurship and making your way into a competitive world was the thing which has changed me upside down. It’s been 2 yrs. since I have started my firm after giving my 8 yrs. into a corporate world working in cross-functional departments. As I am a woman who likes being independent & harnessing my freedom coming into business was more of a dream rather than just following the crowd. It was more with an intent of contributing to the cause rather than looking for a financial outlook and so far, this has been a very good journey with challenges & learnings. When it comes to a job all you have to do is crack the interview & get into the organization you have been handed over some KPI and you need to perform accordingly every job has challenges but the point is when it comes to applying or creating something, the job doesn’t provide that freedom & exposure in many cases & as we are more wind up in our daily work activities, we aren’t able to think & act on the causes or on the things which we feel are more important when we observe the society. As they say “Every great firm or company is started & succeed on the base of the strong cause or a want to contribute in society to make life easy” The same was the case with me I wanted to help & provide something to society it was one of my key driving factors helping me continue my work in ups & downs which even I had a fair share of…but it helped me grow as a person & made my character it’s an experience I would value much higher as compared to the exposure & experience I got in the corporate world. After entering into business, the main thing was looking to meet people understand the needs & requirements creating the things by keeping in mind a customer-centric approach. Then meeting other professional executives makes them understand the product & need of it in lives of people hoping that people will invest in the idea. Working continuously meeting the customers & ground level people understanding needs & finding a way through it to meet those needs were the most challenging areas but I made my way through it through sheer determination to contribute to a cause. As a female, it was quite a challenging part as we are working into a male dominating society even though many males, I met were quite supportive & understanding of me still I would like to say there’s always some grey side to it. There will be people like this but we must ignore them & be faithful to ourselves & our abilities no one can stop us if we are sincere in our work & have a strong belief in ourselves. I would say we must be focused on our goal and just keep working on ourselves & our cause of helping. Don’t let anyone disrespect you always have the attitude of a lioness. Never get affected by people or situations both are powerless without your reaction. With that thought even with my brand new startup, I wish to hire a women workforce who shall be working in my new venture as I believe that it is not just making oneself empowered but also empowering other women by giving employment to them and making them as well the breadwinners of their families. I want to keep a solid value system that shall translate into my work and my company. I completely believe in a not giving up attitude wherein with my best and sincere intentions want to build this venture with sheer determination and hard work and also give something back to society as well. We must always strive our way through this & the key factor in this is always having a sense of self-belief in ourselves because then only we can take challenges & come out through them. The thing I have learned is always meet people learn things understand perspectives &be committed to your dream because it's your dream & you need to water it to make it grow & shine. I also realize that with these challenges I happen to discover my inner strength and capabilities and each time it is pushing me out of my comfort zone and motivating me to be and become even a better and stronger version of myself and understanding the deeper purposes of my life. We feel like a woman we are alone & what will do in such competitive world but I would say don’t listen to that voice it’s a just a voice trying to tell you that you are not good enough. Always try to be positive in your thoughts as they say “It always starts with you”, I would also like to mention that there were my support systems in form of my family & my cheerful friends who have given me that stability in terms of emotions& there motivating affirmations. It's too soon to be philosophical as in business it's better to be practical & in tune with reality as it’s a constantly evolving world & we need to keep up with it. Find your support systems as we need them when we are down or when we aren’t that kind to ourselves. But always keep in mind to be your own biggest supporter. I would like to convey my message to all the females who are trying to make something of themselves & contribute to the world. It’s never too late &it’s never impossible always have that self-belief in your dream your abilities it's always us who are responsible for our success it’s the will power that counts & the main driver in the journey of a business because if you don’t firmly believe in your idea or product no one else will so first have that self-belief on your abilities& your idea or product. Leadership is a thing which you learn it isn’t gendered biased. We as females have this great ability to understand the pain behind the problems & focus on the work and strive forward with a commitment to make a difference add value wherever possible. So, keeping our gender aside & its biases we must try to be the best of ourselves & believe in ourselves. It’s an age of diversifying technology & opportunity for everyone out there. Thanks once again for recognizing my efforts & honouring me with this Award signing off Vinutha Nagaraju. You can email Vinutha@westernwiindow.com If you missed this interesting live session, don't worry you can watch it on this link https://fb.watch/bFF5STm1Ja/

  • A strong comeback, and a massive victory for Women in Blue

Women in Blue topped the table for World Cup by winning the encounter against West Indies with a massive margin of 155 runs. They outplayed the Caribbean team in all three departments of the game. What makes the victory even more special is the fact that it came against a strong contender coming back after suffering a loss from the hosts New Zealand. With this victory, Indian women created flurry or records along with gaining back the confidence to do well in the tournament ahead. Winning the toss, Skipper Mithali (who now has captained most matches in a world cup) chose to bat. The decision was proved right by the two southpaws Yastika and Smriti. Initially, when Smriti was playing cautiously against the short balls bowled by Caribbean spearheads, Yastika showed courage to pull them for a boundary. Yastika ensured India are off to a quick start by hitting at a strike rate of 150, thereby compensating her previous match innings. Before getting dismissed, she made sure India had the right momentum with them. Skipper promoted herself to one down, with Deepthi playing at no 4. When not of them were dismissed, the two most flamboyant batters of India, Smriti and Harmanpreet Kaur showed why they are the pillars of the Indian side. Both of them backed their strengths, with Smriti driving elegantly for boundaries, and Harman showing her strength to clear the ropes in style. The duo stitched the highest 4th wicket partnership in world cup history. With it both of them completer their centuries in style. Smriti repeated her performance in the 2017 world cup match against West Indies (the innings which made her household name) and Harman scored her 4th hundred, 3 of which have come in World cups. Both accompanied each other very well. When one batter hit boundaries, the other simply rotated the strike and kept the scorecard moving. The form of best batters was something India was craving for, and living up to the expectations of people and coach Ramesh Powar, the best Indian batter stepped up when India needed them the most. The collective efforts of the duo helped India reach its 300 run mark for the first time in the world cup. It also ensured the highest total for the current world cup. Now it was the turn of Caribbean batters. And Deandra Dottin proved why she is called as World boss. With her partner Matthews, the duo launched an attack on Indian bowlers. Dottin reached to a quickfire fifty. In the first 12 overs, the scorecard had reached 100. Then came the star of India, Sneh Rana, who dismissed Dottin with her clever bowling right in her first over. Meghna did the trick to dismiss the two new batters and Rana yet again dismissed the set Matthews, bringing the scorecard to 114/4. The West Indian attack couldn't quite recover from the damage Rana and Meghana had done to their team. None of the batters contributed thereafter. Indian bowlers did a great job. Jhulan scalped her 40th wicket in World cup history. Rajeshwari's turn was a sight every Indian loved to watch. Deepthi's rocket arm direct hit from fine leg to non-striker's end caught West Indian batter off the crease. With everything happening, it was only a matter of time before India won the match, which they eventually did by winning it with a huge margin of 155 runs. Apart from the victory, a flurry of records was created by the Indian team. Mithali Raj became the player to captain the most number of matches in the Women's world cup surpassing Belinda Clark. Jhulan, scalping her 40th wicket, became the bowler to take the most number of wickets in world cup history. Miljhul duo created a record considering world cup history, whereas others did it for this world cup. Harman became the leading run-scorer, and Smriti the second-highest run-scorer in this world cup. And Rajeshwari became the highest wicket-taker in the tournament till now. These stats just tell us the impact the Indian team has had till now in the tournament. Indian won the match, and yet again Smriti won hearts with her beautiful gesture of sharing the Player of the Match award with Harmanpreet saying " since we both hit centuries, we both should be player of the match and not just me ". The rapport between the best batters was loved by the cricket fans. With the win, India has gained the confidence they needed to go ahead in the tournament. The round-robin format is going to allow them to face all the teams. India would love to continue their run in the tournament with consistent wins and contributions from every player. And the fans back in India would love to see the same happening. Authored By:- Ashwin Jangam ( Cricket Analyst, Host and Entertainer) Instagram ID: https://www.instagram.com/cricket_creativity/

  • Dr.Pratik Rajan Mungekar has been invited as a Chief Guest for the annual function “JHALAK”

Delighted to share that Dr.Pratik Rajan Mungekar has been invited as a Chief Guest for the annual function “JHALAK” Journey of the year which was happened today organised by ScholarsTree Preschool A Wing of ScholarsTree Educare Private Limited is an ISO Certified Education Institution ScholarsTree's philosophies align with the thoughts of various eminent educationists & psychologist for helping, providing an appropriate environment, cultural, moral values, love and knowledge to children. Their curriculum is research-based, learner centred with new age life skills and a perfect amalgamation of conventional practices and modern learning methods. They have adopted best practices by focusing on continuous evaluation, assessment and improvement in their pedagogy. He inaugurated the annual day function & gave his words of wisdom and best wishes to all the Children, Parents, Teachers and staff. Here is the Transcript of his Speech. It gives me immense pleasure to be here this evening and to address the young students of the ScholarsTree Preschool A Wing of ScholarsTree Educare on the occasion of its Annual Day function of the school. ScholarsTree Preschool A Wing of ScholarsTree Educare has been established by Saravjeet Kirad very thoughtfully for an overall growth of a child and to integrate his academic excellence with his personality development. Education is not just the amount of information that is put into a child’s brain undigested, unrelated an unassimilated. The very essence of education is the concentration of mind and not mere collection or collation of facts. As Swami Vivekananda said: “Education is the manifestation of the perfection already in man”. The concept of education is that it should help the formation of character expansion of intellect and development of a positive view of the life. It is this man-making character which is the basic object of all education. A school should be a mirror of the child’s personality wherein education should constitute the inner beauty. I understand strives to identify and nurture innate talents and abilities. Experimentation and creativity through interactive and scientifically developed activities, traditional values with modern knowledge and information, all-round development of the students without any discrimination or prejudices are the basic objectives of quality education. I am assured that these ideas form the core contents in educational pattern of the school which prepares the young generation to become leaders in whatever career they choose and to contribute positively towards self, family, society, nation and the entire world. I am pleased to know that ScholarsTree Educare understands the need for effective communication and therefore offers intensive coaching in both oral and written communication skills. This helps in expressing ideas clearly and effectively. Other activities like group discussions, elocution, seminars etc. , are conducted for the personality development of students. Innovative workshops, projects and guest lectures by eminent personalities are organized for the benefit of students. Finally works of art help one to relate with the world. The expressions denote the experience and the individuals outlook towards society. ScholarsTree Educare lets students kindle the fire of creativity in them who are motivated to participate and display their talents in interschool and at various other competitions. Hobby clubs at this school provide for students to express and hone their skills and talent in a range of activities like painting, arts, music and dance, debate elocution stamp collection and so on. Students need some time to relax and rejuvenate. This helps in learning better and also keeps the mind and body healthy. This is done through sports and games. They help in keeping the body fit and provide mental relaxation. It is also very heartening to be informed that field trips are an integral part of education at ScholarsTree Educare. Students are taken to places of historical importance, scientific interest, farms and fields to give them first-hand idea on various occupations. This enables students to see for themselves the productive processes of goods of our daily use. These trips are preceded by assigning them projects on the proposed place of visit, its significance and are followed by summarizing their individual experiences. This should provide a strong vocational bias to our educational system which is the need of the day. A school based on the model has to ensure that entire education should take place in natural surroundings in tandem with nature where a child should learn to identity plants, flowers and birds in the open air. This would be particularly attractive to a child who while leaving the threshold of home and going to school for the first time needs a lot of inducement and persuasion for study. Nature, as Gandhiji used to observe frequently, has enough to fulfill man’s needs but not his greeds. This should be firmly implanted in a child’s mind so that he may constantly be aware that man has a special responsibility to protect Nature. Students should be made aware of their responsibility and duty towards protecting nature and prevent its wanton destruction which unfortunately seems to be order of the day. Some simple practices like encouraging planting of trees periodically in their neighbourhood, watering the plants and nurturing them, digging pits for rain water harvesting should be taught. These and other would foster in a child caring and sharing attitude towards nature and life on earth and a deep appearance of the flora and fauna. To make education more attractive, the students of lower classes should be imparted education through play-way methods. They should be taught to identify various colours, sounds, shapes and objects. Exercises like clay-modeling, building sand castles, the playpen and other interactive methods should be adopted to make learning more interesting and attractive. In this context I would like to bring to your notice that this is how Tagore conceptualized and broughts up his famous Santiniketan (Abode of Peace) where the entire educational system was integrated from pre-nursery to the stage of Masters’ Degree and where the teaching was imparted in open air classrooms in natural surroundings. Poet himself used to take some nursery and pre-nursery classes and imparted education through music dance and drama composed by him. In some cases Tagore used to take part in the dramas and plays along with other children; at times he also used to personally supervise the works of painting and craft made by the children and put in a few words of encouragement for them. This instilled life in teaching as well as learning and served as a big booster for uplifting the spirit of the children. Indeed Tagore made education joyful and playful for all children. Under Tagore’s watchful supervision, a friendly atmosphere was created for students to interact with their teachers and share a relation of mutual trust and affection. This led to a congenial environment conducive for teaching and learning. Coaching was provided through interactive teaching methods. The curiosity of the students was not suppressed but encouraged and students had the freedom to express their opinions and to seek their own answers subject of course to the correction by teachers wherever necessary. No wonder, this unconventional methodology gained quick recognition and due to Poet’s untiring efforts and zeal, Shantiniketan won international reputation and ere long it became the hub of foreign scholars interested in various facets of our heritage and culture. One of the basic drawbacks of to-day’s schooling is that tens of thousands of school-going children in India are penalized by an educational system that has largely failed to take into account their special learning needs. It is time we better understood the profile of students with learning difficulties. Sustained application of sound scientific knowledge in the classroom can make a difference. Such application can occur only if our schools had more teachers anchored in the knowledge of neurological functions that impact learning. Teachers can then assess their students' strengths and weaknesses in order to modify their instruction, so that all students benefit. Failure in school often portends low self-esteem as adults, and most certainly contributes to poor productivity in professional life. With its escalating needs for economic development, India cannot afford a future citizenry that hasn't been given the scholastic consideration and opportunities it deserves in childhood. The reluctance of school administrators to train teachers in these areas is puzzling. What is worse is that students' failure permeates into the home. School authorities and teachers are seldom able to reassure distraught parents. Educators and psychologists occasionally offer diagnoses of dyslexia, or other learning disability, but seldom is a learning plan offered to the child or the parent that meets that child's specific requirements. This is because teachers often do not know how a child learns, and are over focused on what a child learns. Given the pressure on children to be all-rounded, it is perhaps a matter of time before most students experience a breakdown in learning. To be successful in school, students need to be good at many things at the same time regardless of their strengths or weaknesses. This leads to frustration, humiliation, and failure among many of them. An undue pressure on the child can adversely affect his capacity to learn, as well as his ability to take pleasure in academic work. We must not forget that education must and should be joyous, not onerous. I have earlier referred to the successful growth of Tagore’s Santiniketan as focal point of imparting true and meaningful education without tears. But the study of science and technology was not sufficiently emphasized in their educational curriculum. This was not because of any inherent defect or deliberate lapse in their educational planning but because when Santiniketan was set up more than a century back (precisely on 22-12-1901) the study of Science and technology was not assigned the overriding importance in our educational curriculum. The position has undergone a sea-change since then in view of the phenomenal and exponential advancement in science and technology. We have to remember that all training and teachings should be basically centred round science and technology. The 21st Century is universally acknowledged as the “Knowledge Century” which means that Knowledge or brainpower through an extensive study and application of science and technology should be reflected in a country’s competitiveness, advancement and human capabilities Human capabilities today are a function of the well-being of a people and the investment we make in human capital formation. The ability of a nation to make the best use of its knowledge or brainpower will ultimately determine its place in the comity of nations in the present century. In this context, lifelong learning is a high priority for all and is in fact fundamental to the development of a nation. It builds the base for economic and social development and fosters the capacity of individuals to contribute to and benefit from, that development. It also sustains and enriches both the individual and overall culture of a nation and builds mutual respect and understanding that ultimately transcends all national differences and barriers. ScholarsTree Educare has to keep in view this development if it really wants to come up as a focal point of professional excellence. And yet, I must, caution that professional excellence without accompanying human virtues may many prove disastrous. As the adage goes that knowledge without character and science without humanity portend dangerous signals for a valued-based democratic society. We must therefore ensure that the development of a knowledge society encouraging professional excellence does not directly or indirectly discards the basics of human excellence . In the beautiful and inimitable words of our philosopher-statesman Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, (I quote) Knowledge is not something to be packed away in some corner of our brain, but is what enters into our being, colour our emotion, haunts our soul, and is as close to us as life itself. It is the overmastering power that through the intellect moulds the whole personality, trains the emotions and disciplines the will. Unquote I am sure that ScholarsTree Educare would go a long way in boosting the tempo of development and help our country to reach soaring heights of perfection which would enable it to become a powerhouse of intellectual endeavour and knowledge engine of the world without in any compromising the qualities human virtues of kindness compassion, sympathy and fellow-feeling. With these words, I have great pleasure in inaugurating the Annual Day Function of the ScholarsTree Educare. Jai Hind Jai Maharashtra.. • A loss to learn, and a few positives

India started the world cup with a bang by winning against Pakistan by a huge margin of 107 runs. However, they preceded the match by losing it against the hosts and the favourites for this tournament Kiwis by a margin of 62 runs. Kiwis dominated the encounter in all three departments, however, there were a few positives from the game for India. Maybe a few right decisions and this match would've been in India's favour. Winning the toss, the experienced skipper Mithali chose to bowl. With one right change in the form of Yastika Bhatia replacing Shafali, India went on the field. India was able to dismiss the dangerous Suzie Bates for a low score, courtesy of a great direct hit from the previous Player of the Match, Pooja Vastrakar. But then the experienced duo of Kerr and Devine took on the Indian attack. Sattherwaite, Green and Martin ensured the same continues even further. At a time when it looked that Kiwis will reach to 300 run mark, India bounced back and bowled good in death overs. The star for India's bowling was the player who starred with the bat in the last match, Pooja Vastrakar. She scalped 4 wickets and was the only bowler to bowl with an economy lesser than 4. Jhulan and Gayakwad scalped 1 and 2 wickets respectively. Deepthi, Meghna and Rana turned out to be a little expensive. But the overall effort in death from Indian bowlers restricted the Kiwis to 260. In reply, the Indian top-order was not able to perform. The inclusion of Yastika was a right move considering the short ball bowled by Kiwis, but she found it hard to go due to the quick wickets of Smriti and Deepthi. At a point where she looked to have an eye on the ball, she had a soft dismissal. The skipper tried to hold one end for some time but was dismissed too. Both of them did score some runs, but their strike rate was worrisome. When India plays against strong teams, the strike rate is a very crucial factor that can turn the game. The positive for India was Harmanpreet Kaur returning to form. She was the only batter who was trying to up the run rate and lower the required rate. Seeing her hit those 2 long sixes, Indian sighed relief seeing their strongest batter clearing the boundaries, something which she is known for. If she continues the form in upcoming matches, she will be a treat to watch for Indians and a threat to opposition in the upcoming matches. At this point, India has one victory and one loss. But today's loss will make sure India remains grounded and will also ensure India is aware of where it can go wrong. If every Indian batter maintains a good strike rate, India will either be able to chase targets or can set a good defendable score for our bowlers. With Harman back in form, India would hope their middle-order fires again, giving much-needed support for the top order. Let's hope it happens and India manage to win a majority of further games Authored By:- Ashwin Jangam ( Cricket Analyst, Host and Entertainer) Instagram ID: https://www.instagram.com/cricket_creativity/

  • Retirement of S Sreesanth: Abrupt end to a good career

If one has to recall the most aggressive Indian bowler in the 21St century, the first name that comes to mind is Sreesanth. His aggression was his trademark. His run-up, action and his delivery stride displayed the confidence and aggression he had. He never feared to display his emotions in front of the greatest of the batters. This is why, seeing an aggressive bowler like him announcing his decision of retirement silently did surprise the cricket lovers, even when they knew this was about to come sooner or later. With a heavy heart, he called off his career in the field which gave him everything and took away everything from him. The retirement of every cricketer is not a great sight for the fans of the gentlemen's game, but Sreesanth's retirement did make the fans emotional too in some way or the other. Every fan has memories related to a cricketer, and similar is the case with Sreesanth. With his retirement, the memories associated with him flashback quickly and make one person wonder, why did such a talented player could play only half of the years after he made his debut till his retirement ...? The only bowler from Kerala after Tinu Yohanan, Sreesanth made his name in the domestic circuit by claiming a hat-trick against Himachal Pradesh in 2002. When he made his international debut in 2005, he made sure his name is known to the world. He claimed 2 wickets on his ODI debut, and 4 wickets on his Test debut. He bowled great outswingers, and his ability to reverse the ball in the late overs proved to be of some help to India at times. This made him a great option in the longer format of the game, as well as in Odi. His ability to swing the new ball proved to be of great help in initial overs in T20 too. He made his T20 debut in the only T20 India played before the 2007 T20 world cup. In the inaugural edition of the T20 world cup, Sreesanth proved to be a vital cog in India's emergence as the first title winner. He dismissed the in-form Adam Gilchrist and Matthew Hayden in semi-final, which turned the game in India's favour and ended Australia's domination in ICC events. And who can forget the last catch taken by Sreesanth which sealed the World Cup final against arch-rivals Pakistan, making India enter in history books? But more than his final catch, his aggressive celebration on the pitch after taking Hayden's wicket was loved by many, was also hated by many, but it demonstrated the immense confidence he had. In the 2011 World cup too, Sreesanth had a major role to play in India's world cup victory after 28 years. Interestingly, he is the only Indian fast bowler, who was a part of both, 2007 T20 world cup victory, as well as 2011 World cup victory. His career was glorious but equally controversial. Earlier he was indulged in a few controversies too, but he got away with it. But when everything was going well, he did one big mistake. The mistake was unforgivable. And rightly so, he did get punished for it. But he could never quite come out of it thereafter. A ban of 7 years destroyed him in the worst possible way. He didn't just lose his reputation, he also lost the skills that he possessed. Life was not fair for him after 2013. When people who were involved in spot fixing or ball-tampering were given a chance again, Sreesanth never really got a chance again. Otherwise, it would have been a treat to watch him bowling with great aggression earlier. Just thinking of having an aggressive bowler like Sreesanth in the playing eleven with Virat Kohli as a captain would've been a sight everyone would've loved to witness. This aggressive duo would've mentally destroyed the opposition. Once when Steyn was asked the most frightening incident he had, he replied saying "Sreesanth dancing with the bat after hitting Andre Nel for a six still gives me chills down the spine". If the bowler like Steyn finds it frightening, imagine what others might have thought if the team up ok Kohli and Sreesanth might have had been a reality. But the latter's mistake, and fate had different plans for him . Not all endings are happy. This is one such end that is happy in no possible way for anyone. But speaking of what he has achieved, one would always say that in the 7 years of international cricket he played for India, he gave enough opportunities for billions of people to rejoice. And for all the reasons he made India smile, Indians will always be thankful. His catch in the 2007 T20 world cup, and Ravi Shastri's commentary "It's in the air, Sreesanth under the ball, takes it" will always be in the hearts of cricket fans till they continue to breathe. Sreesanth can be proud of what he has achieved in his life. And now when he decides to start his second innings, we, the team stayfeatured wish him all the luck and love he deserves. latest Technology has allowed and enabled the virtual attendees to enter into a virtual building, a convention centre and a conference hall where one can view a podium, audience and has the ability to choose from the different sessions of interest. There are also networking lounges where the active attendees can meet up virtually and connect either on a personal or a professional level. On this note Dr Pratik Mungekar, Planery Speaker IIU invited readers to be a part of the 12th Global Virtual Conference LEAD Philippines Global- Qatar on Multidisciplinary Trends in Academic Research organized by LEAD PHILIPPINES Leadership in Education Academy and Development, Philippines. He said "There are so many great ways to learn and sharpen your skills these days: you can read blogs, listen to podcasts, watch how-to videos on YouTube, and attend webinars, just to name a few. Why bother with the time and expense of an in-person conference or workshop? sometimes you have to take a break from the “work” of your work to sharpen your skills. A dull axe won’t cut a tree nearly as effectively as a sharp one. I always return from a conference with new ideas and approaches that make me more effective and efficient at work. Good conferences have opportunities for attendees to mix and mingle, form new relationships, and strengthen existing ones. I am very much excited for this upcoming International Conference Looking forward to it." • Bismah Maroof - Supermom and a true inspiration for everyone

Before the start of the high voltage match between India and Pakistan in the Women's World Cup 2022, the visuals which the fans saw made the cricketing world fall in love with women's cricket even more. The visual was of Pakistan Women Team's skipper Bismah Maroof. When everyone saw Bismah with her newborn angel in the Tauranga stadium accompanying her supermom, the world was in awe of the scene. In a true sense, Bismah Maroof has gained tremendous respect from fans across the globe. She serves to be an inspiration for all the women who wish to continue on their dreams without giving up or compromising on having a personal life which they wish. Her immense dedication to the game is the reason why she was able to do so. The star from Lahore was an academically bright student and her parents wanted her to be a doctor. But fortunately, she grew interested in cricket and continued to play it for her life as a career. It was only a matter of time before the star made her debut for Men in Green at the mere age of 15 years. Since then she has been an integral part of the team. She is the first Pak woman to score 1000 plus runs in ODI's . She captained the Pak side for almost 4 years where she led the team very well. In the case of most subcontinent women sportspersons, it is believed that indulging in personal relationships can make it difficult to pursue their passion in sports. In addition, it is also believed that having a child will almost make it impossible for sportswomen to re-enter the sport. But breaking all the shackles, Bismah set an example for sportspersons. In April 2021, when she announced her maternity break for an indefinite amount of time, most people might have thought that the career of Bismah was only till that point. But proving everyone wrong, she made a strong comeback and a solid statement to the world. After giving birth to a new women's star in August 2021, in December Bismah announced that she would be a part of the squad going to the world cup. In a quick period of 6 months post her pregnancy, she dedicated herself to her first love of cricket and made herself fit enough to clear all the required fitness tests to be a part of Women in Greenside. One can only imagine the pain she might have gone through the six months when she had to match the fitness levels she earlier had. Also thinking about practising hard enough to still be the best batter on the side in such a short time post-pregnancy can give goosebumps to anyone. But she did it. Not just that, during her maternity, leave too, she was constantly involved with the Pak team. The team had always considered her to be their leader even when she was not a part of the squad. This is why, she was chosen as the leader of the Pak side for the mega event, knowing that she was coming in the side after a long time. Seeing her in the stadium along with the little version of herself, therefore was a sight that everyone loved with their heart and soul. She was on her national duty, and along with it, she made sure her personal duties are taken care of too. Women are truly multi t, and Bismah is an example of that. To say the least, her personal life didn't affect her on-field behaviour one bit. Her field placements and rotation of bowlers against Indians was amazing. She lived up to the expectations of her being the best batter on the Pak side by scoring a half-century yesterday against Australia. The pics of her celebrating her half-century while her mother and newborn are in the stadium are good enough to melt the hearts of the strongest of the people. In a true sense, Bismah Maroof is an inspiration to everyone. She is a role model for every woman who wishes to be in the sport. What makes her journey even more special is the fact that she comes from a country, where Abdul Razzak, a player who has represented the country had ridiculed Nida Dar on a public platform, speaking about women who play country in a negative way. She has broken barriers of orthodoxy multiple times, and she will continue to do so. This is why none of the cricketers from the opposition can resist coming and meeting her and her newborn. Pakistan as a team is not performing up to the mark, but whenever one will speak of Pak skipper Bismah Maroof, one will always have the highest respect in their minds for her. • India won the match, but at the end women's cricket won

The India Pakistan match is always special for the fans of both countries. But few instances made it even special to watch. The very first instance was the visuals of Bismah Maroof holding her 6-month-old angel Fatima in the stadium. It was one of those instances where a picture says more than a thousand words. The whole world was in awe of the little angel, and admiration of the Pakistan skipper Bismah Maroof deserves all the appreciation in this world for breaking so many shackles of society at once. The true leader, Bismah went on an indefinite break for her maternity leave. But just post 6 months of her newborn daughter , she resumed national duties. One can just imagine how many hardships she might have gone through to recover so quickly post pregnancy to make a comeback, but she did it. And she didn't just rejoin the team, but she led the Women in Green on the ocassion of her re-arrival in International cricket. Which is why her pics with her daughter in the Tauranga stadium at Mount Maunganui were loved by millions. In addition to this , the visuals of Indian players visiting Pakistan dressing room to get a glimpse of the Bismah's daughter were heartening to see. The players who have won matches and have dominated the opposition were seen playing with the 6 month old angel like kids. The smile on the faces of all the Indian players while they were playing with the "bundle of happiness " Fatima flooded the social media with positive messages for Indian players. Also, one could visibly notice Bismah Maroof smiling from her heart when all of this was happening. That is the main purpose of any sport- to bring happiness and positivity. If politicians and policies divide the people, sports unite the people. Sports is all about uniting the people equally as it is about the fighting spirit, aggression and never giving up attitude. Therefore in cricket, one may have lot of opponents , but zero enemies. The instances which happened post the India Pakistan match is a live example of the same. And if this continues to happen, the real purpose of cricket will be served. Women's cricket in particular is all all about seeing women play their heart and soul for the game. And it is all about gaining equal respect to what men's cricket does have. Leading by example, the great determination shown by Bismah Maroof will definitely add to serve the purpose of bringing equality to some extent in women's game. It will show lot of young girls to follow their career, and still not compromise on a life they want. And the kind gesture of Indian women's team post the match would inspire many people to spread love instead of hatred. Considering all what happened in the game between India and Pakistan, one can definitely say that India might have just won the match, but at the end it was female cricket who emerged out to be victorious. Wishing all these women who play the game of cricket with sheer dedication a very very Happy Women's Day.
