- Heartbreak for Women in Blue
In the last league of Women'snail-biting World Cup, Women in Blue were defeated by the Protea team in a nail-biting thriller. With the defeat, the hopes of the Semi-finals ended, ending India's run in this tournament. A billion hopes were shattered. But what was more disheartening to see was that the two greatest contributors of women's cricket, Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami still without a world cup title to their name despite their immense contribution. One felt sad for Jhulan, who couldn't even play her probable last world cup match. It's a hard truth one has to accept and move on. There were instances where the team could've done better. When Shafali and Smriti powered India to a flying start, one hoped that India would go beyond 300, but that didn't happen as Protea bowlers did a great job in death overs. Furthermore, India could've done little better in the department of fielding. Poor fielding, allowing the opposition to give away 2 instead of 1, dropping catches is something that could've been avoided. Only a fool would ignore all these and blame Deepthi for the unfortunate no ball in the last over. But what mattered the most is India fought till the end. The same had happened against our team's encounter with the mighty Aussies too. The Australian encounter was also ber well fought, eventually losing it in the last over. Similarly, the ultimate match of the league stage was one where the fighting spirit didn't drop by one bit by both the teams. As a supporter of one team, it's painful to see their team lose and exit from the tournament, but as a cricket lover, the fighting spirit and the nail-biting thriller one loves to witness. Furthermore, the ultimate dream to promote women's cricket went an inch closer in this tournament with India's run. With only a handful of women stars like Mithali Jhulan, Smriti, Harman and a few being popular previously, the likes of Pooja Vastrakar, Sneh Rana, Yastika Bhatia, Richa Ghosh, Meghna Singh becoming a household name are a very big positive for the women's game. The contribution of these stars for every match was a major factor for India's run, and they will be responsible for inspiring many women to take this sport. Also, this world cup might not be to India's name, but a lot of records were created by the team. Mithali became the player to captain the most number of world cup matches. Chakdah Express Jhulan became the highest wicket-taker in world cups, and also scalped her 250th overall wicket. Smriti18-year-old39-year-old crossed her mark of 5000 runs. Another beautiful thing to witness was the 18-year-old Shafali Verma and 39 year old Mithali Raj scoring half-centuries in the same world cup match. All these amazing stats might not bring the title, but will go on to inspire people to watch the game, and girls to take up the sport. And in this ultimate dream of bringing glory to women's cricket, this world cup did play a role. The rising popularity of these players is the reason why BCCI is eventually thinking of making the dream of WIPL a reality. This will help to promote the game on a larger scale. A world cup victory will do that even further, but with rising talent in the Indian women's team, this is a dream which will be accomplished in the years to come. Speaking of this tournament, the teams could've done better but can hold their heads high and focus on the upcoming events to follow. And speaking about legends Jhulan and Mithali, the duo will be the most respected duo of Women cricketers across the globe always. - Ghosts Are People Without Bodies.- An Article by Dr.Pratik Rajan Mungekar
During this conversation, Dr Pratik Rajan Mungekar has put forth his thoughts on Ghosts Are People Without Bodies. Let's read his thoughts The notion of ghosts has been long debated, whether it’s the existence of Casper, Anne Boleyn’s lost spirit lurking, or your neighbour’s grandma visiting from the afterlife. Ghosts are remnants of the bodies of people that have died and are commonly discussed in folklore. Apparitions can range from a simple strange presence to the aura of a living being. Roughly half of all Americans believe in ghosts or life after death according to a website called Ghosts and Gravestones. Many within the population of believers have shared perceived experiences of the phenomenon, or share a strong belief in life after death. In addition, many believers are also religious: numerous religions discuss life after death in one form or another. Hinduism and Buddhism believe in reincarnation, and Christianity, Islam, and Judaism believe that the soul is eternal and will continue to exist after death. People believe in this idea because no one knows what happens after death and wants to believe that there is some form of life and that maybe humans can visit their loved ones after passing on. According to the previously mentioned website, Ghosts and Gravestones, “We seek explanations for what’s happening around us. It’s just the way the human brain is wired; we need to know why things occur or what’s causing something. And when it comes to inexplicable, mysterious happenings, the only logical explanation is often the presence of something supernatural.” Information regarding ghosts can be found all over the Internet and on television. Websites are substantiating this belief, but most are reiterating that the idea is false. The notion of ghosts has been around for thousands of years. One of the only websites I found on the origination of ghosts is Wikipedia, which says that stories of ghosts originated in early Mesopotamia and ancient Greece. Furthermore, ghosts were written into Homer’s the Odyssey and Iliad. In the Bible, Jesus was at first believed to be a ghost before convincing his followers that he rose from the dead. Furthermore, ghost stories circulated during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, throughout history until today. More people believe in ghosts in the modern-day than they did in the past, with more and more people believing each year, along with the amount of evidence against ghosts increasing over time. Ghosts are considered extraordinary because the idea of them is unable to be authenticated by science. There is no replicable experiment known that can validate a ghost’s presence; people coming back after death as spirits defies all scientific laws of nature. Besides hope, the belief of ghosts continues to live on through oral stories that are passed on from person to person. Those in favour of the existence of ghosts are mostly believers because they cannot attribute their experiences to normal circumstances. The belief is solely built on personal experience with the help of religious beliefs (life after death, reincarnation, etc.) to explain what happens in the afterlife. According to HowStuffWorks, “the evidence for ghosts is all around us, but only living beings with a certain sensitivity can feel their presence.” In addition, the website states that technology is not yet advanced enough to create a physical proof. According to some quantum physicists, “we still do not fully understand the interaction of the human mind and external matter at the quantum level” (HowStuffWorks). Moreover, ghosts may not be dead humans but merely humans from other points in time. On the other hand, those against the premise of ghosts are more backed by science than those in favour. Benjamin Radford, Live Science Contributor, claims that the stories of ghosts switch between being able to walk through walls but still being able to move them and that these contradicting ideas go against the laws of physics. Furthermore, he claims that if these spirits were truly lost and had unfinished business, then mediums would be able to help them in a multitude of ways (solve their murders, identify killers). Those who claim to have evidence like ghost hunters use pseudoscience to demonstrate their claims: electromagnetic field meters, cameras, thermometers, and other equipment are used to detect any energy changes. The change in energy is automatically assumed to be the presence of a supernatural being. Jumping to the conclusion that any change in the atmosphere is due to paranormal causes is logically incorrect; people misinterpret the results due to confirmation bias, only looking for evidence that strengthens their beliefs in ghosts. All in all, the notion of ghosts has originated and survived over a long period. A large percentage of the world’s population believes in ghosts in one form or another, whether it’s life after death or the eternal existence of human energy. Many of these believers claim to have personal experiences with ghosts, while others only believe because of their religion or hope. There is conflicting evidence to whether ghosts exist, as the premises backing them is controversial and up for debate. Perhaps advances in technology over time will give us a final answer or ghosts will make contact with the public themselves. - MS Dhoni- The Captain : End of an era
If one speaks about the most successful captains of India, the first name which comes to mind is MS Dhoni. The man helped India win 3 ICC titles. One has to be either crazy, or MS Dhoni to captain their first international tournament like the world cup and still led the team to the title. One of the rarest people to lead the first tournament with a title win and the last tournament with a title win, MS Dhoni decided to step down as CSK captain, leaving the fans in despair. Although he had last captained an international match back in 2016, he was still the captain of people's hearts and seeing him lead the Chennai Super Kings team gave the fans enough happiness for the rest of the year. Irrespective of whichever team one supported, their second favourite team was always CSK, and the reason was Thala. He is the only captain to lead the same team for 14 seasons of the IPL. For fans CSK means Dhoni, the two are synonyms. Likewise Team India from 2007 to 2016 and Mahendra Singh Dhoni are the same. He took Indian cricket to a different level altogether. His strong shoulders carried the weight of billion expectations for a long period. And the calm head over his strong shoulders made a billion expectations transform into billion smiles. The title win of the inaugural T20 world cup, the 2011 world cup victory, the 2013 Champions Trophy title is all a result of that calm head. His captaincy was more than just about his calm personality. It was about the perfect field placements, the perfect rotation of bowlers, giving the right set of instructions to the bowlers, taking anyone perfect reviews, and back your players till the time they prove themselves. His captaincy was about playing fair, and the following spirit of the game. And he did that. His decisions were trusted and appreciated by other teams as well. He set the bar of his captaincy so high, that reaching that level is a Herculean task for any one. This is why, even when Virat's India dominated the world cricket, became the number one team in the world, it was not appreciated by few as it was still compared to Dhoni's Indian team. Well, what can one really do if the previous captain has won his team all the major ICC event titles in senior cricket in just 6 years? Apart from just the Indian captain, he has done wonders with his team CSK. The only captain of the team since the inaugural edition of IPL, he has led the team to 4 titles, and his team has reached the finals on 9 occasions. A staggering win percentage of over 60% is an outcome of having the complete leader who can deal with pressure, and bring the best out of his players. An entire generation has watched him leading the CSK from 2008 to 2021, and hence when in the upcoming IPL one will not see Dhoni coming for the toss in the match, one will feel dejected. What makes it sadder for the fans is the fact that all of them were eagerly waiting for him to lead the team in his way in the next week, and the sudden decision has shattered their hopes. The unpredictable MS did the same thing, what he did during his Test retirement, left quietly as the skipper. One would see Dhoni in action picking those quick stumpings, and hitting long sixes, but the feeling of Dhoni leading the side is a sight that everyone will miss dearly. The 15 years of Dhoni as a leader will always be in the hearts of the fans. The one and half decade experienced some amazing captaincy from the living legend. The contribution from Mahi as a captain to Indian cricket and CSK is huge, and will always hold a special place in fans' memory. His journey from a Ranchi boy, to one of the greatest captains of world cricket, will inspire millions of youngsters worldwide. And he will always be remembered as a true leader who led from the front. His decision of stepping down as a captain despite leading the side to win the title will help cricketers learn the values of selflessness. With all the heart and soul, we thank him for his contribution to cricket as a leader and look forward to him in the IPL as our favourite finisher. - Yastika - a big match player
In India's match, Yastika Bhatia scored a crucial half-century against the Bangla bowlers who were doing a really good job. In the previous match against Australia too, she scored a half-century. In both these matches, the situations were quite similar. A quick fall of first 2-3 wickets, and good bowling from the opposition, yet the youngster did well to adapt quickly and play sensibly to help India's cause. In the matches to come, where the role will be important for the team's performance. Too early to say, but she might just be the player India needed in big matches. image by FGN NEWS But what really makes her a better choice in play eleven? The answer is simple. Her ability to adapt according to the situations the team is facing. Even though she likes to bat at number 3, when she was given the task of opening the innings in the New Zealand series and the ongoing World cup, she did well at the position helping the team's cause. Her biggest strength is the pull shot, which she plays effectively. In conditions like Australia and New Zealand, where bowlers target the batters with the short balls, Yastika has an upper hand over the bowlers due to her favourite pull shot. Plus she is one of the players who can score runs quickly according to the requirement. At times, reading the situation, she can defend the ball well too, which happened in today's as well as previous game. Undoubtedly her strike rate did drop in the matches, but she ensured that the wicket is not given away easily. This makes her a player in big matches. In the historic Indian win in 2021, where Women in broke Australia's 26 matches winning streak, Yastika's contribution of 64 runs was crucial for India. When the required run rate went over 7, and Mithali was taking some time to set, Yastika attacked the Australian bowlers Tahilia and Perry with her pull shots. This helped India cruise according to the run rate, as well as forced Aussie bowlers to change their lengths. In the recently conducted Challenger trophy 2021 too, Yastika's knock of 86 runs in the final helped Indian A lift the trophy. Having played only 7 matches before entering the world cup, the left-hander's selection in the squad was a shock for many. But her performances justify her selection. The reason for her performance is the practice sessions she had with the Baroda men's Domestic team. Her practice with Hardik and Krunal has helped her in facing better bowlers in the world cup. And she did give a glimpse of her increased prowess in the warm-up game against South Africa when she scored 58 runs. In just a period of 6 months after making her debut, she has made her mark in international cricket. In absence of the talented Jemimah Rodrigues, it was necessary for India to have a batter who can do the job which Jemimah did. And Yastika has filled in her shoes perfectly. Be it the innings of 31 runs off 21 balls against West Indies when Smriti was initially struggling, or be it the half-centuries she scored against Australia and Bangladesh, she does contribute to her cause for her team. Her today's innings have earned her the first player of the match award. In. the further matches to come. for India, she will have. a huge role to play. Let's hope she does it and helps India lift their 1st ever world cup Authored By:- Ashwin Jangam ( Cricket Analyst, Host and Entertainer) Instagram ID: https://www.instagram.com/cricket_creativity/
- Sneh Rana- The three-dimensional match Winner
All-rounders are very important in the game of cricket. Having an all-rounder who can score quick runs, and bowl tight lines will always be a better choice for a team rather than playing a specialist batter or specialist bowler. Kapil Dev, Yuvraj Singh, Ravindra Jadeja are notable names for India who have contributed immensely to India's success. Similarly, one woman proving to be the x-factor for Women in Blue is Sneh Rana. Ever since her resurrection in the Indian team in 2021 after 5 long years, Rana has proved to be a vital cog in India's success as a team. With her solid technique, she plays the spinners as well as pacers well. With her street smartness and unorthodox shots, she makes the ball reach the boundary fence despite however good the field is set. And with the ball in her hands, she turns the game in India's favour either by scalping crucial wickets at crucial juncture s or by choking the run flow thereby creating opposition pressure. In all the departments of the game, this girl brings life to the Indian squad. However, her life and her cricketing career is not something which she has achieved easily. Hailing from a farmer family in Uttarakhand, she started playing the game at the 9. With all her efforts she made it to the Indian squad when she made her debut against Sri Lanka in 2014. In the first of a few matches, she did not get a chance to bat but did well with the ball. In 2016 however, she suffered a knee injury which forced the team to drop her. The injury proved costly to her as she had to wait for a long time to make a comeback. After recovering from the injury, she worked hard on her fitness and played domestic cricket for Railways. While on one hand, she continued to perform better waiting for India's call up, a tragedy struck her family in 2020, when she lost her beloved father. She was devastated but was still determined to make a comeback after suffering from so many setbacks. After waiting for almost half a decade, she was selected for the Women in the Blue squad against England. In one of the finest tales of resurrection, she made the opportunity count. In the one odd test match which Indian women were playing after 7 long years, Sneh Rana scalped 4 wickets and played a sensational unbeaten knock of 80 runs to draw the match after they were enforced follow on. Her all-around performance garnered praise from all over the world. Thereafter, the strong girl did wonders whenever she got an opportunity to play in the playing eleven for team India. With her bat, with the ball, or on the field, she displayed strong character which helped India's cause. In many instances, her unorthodox cricketing shots gave India much-needed acceleration. In the historic match against Australia, when India broke Australia's winning streak of 26 matches, Sneh Rana turned the match in India's tide by hitting 3 consecutive unorthodox boundaries in the 47th which helped India chase the total. Her biggest strength is her game awareness. At times she takes time to get going but still steals singles and doubles, and at times it looks like she has all the time in the world to hit the very first ball over the boundary. Her paddle sweep and scoop display her street smartness, her crunchy drives and cuts show her elegance, and her bottom handed lofted shots display the power she has. When it comes to her bowling, her quick variations are difficult for the batter to catch, and give India the necessary breakthroughs. Her game awareness was seen in the Challenger Trophy final when she led her team to lift the title. Carrying the confidence of winning challenger trophy, she made her intentions of fighting till the end in World cup too. Her gritty innings with Pooja Vastrakar in India's first game against Pakistan powered India to victory. Similarly, her quick innings in other matches have just saved India from a low scoring total to getting a defendable total. Plus her wicket-taking ability has proved to be a boon for India. As of now, the star has scored 100 runs and has scalped 10 wickets in the tournament. Her all-around performance has been one of the reasons for India's success. In the most amazing tales of resurrection, she has come a long way from being not in the international circuit for 5 years, to being the player who brings perfect balance to the Indian squad. Needless to say, if this champ plays with the same intent, she will be the reason for India's world cup triumph. If that happens, that will bring smiles to the faces of billions and will make her father smile from heaven. - Dr Prachiti Punde - a step further to inspire others
"Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder." Therefore. "Change the way you look at yourself, you will look very beautiful ..." Do you agree? No? No problem Read on .. Definitely, you will. "Become a doctor, otherwise no one will marry you.." "Be a little like your aged kids, stay with your age friends, why do you want to grow up so early?" Does these sentences sound familiar?? In many homes, girls, especially "girls who look normal as per society norms" are constantly made to hear this it won't be extravagant to say that the little ones grow up listening to it. What do girls do in such situations? Listening to all this, they break down, somehow complete their education, marry wherever their parents want them to. Or they prove themselves by purposely studying hard and standing on their own feet. But ... Prachiti Punde went a step further and decided to inspire others along with herself, she did it and will continue to do so. Who wouldn't love to get to know such a "perfect role model" (and model in reality as well) Prachiti Punde even more, to know her journey? Shall I tell you, how this simple worm turned into a beautiful butterfly? A simple but very intelligent girl, from a well-to-do family, born in the hospital of RSS, with highly educated parents, got everything materialistic she needed. Father was a trustee and doctor, and mother an owner and headmistress of Fashion Designing College. They had quite an educational, cultural and social work environment at home. Not a surprise if Prachiti went the same way? But she was far ahead of the times and the social framework, neither she nor the people around her knew it. Her maturity level was very different, at a very young age. And that's why she never befriended her peers. She treated them like an older sister. She loved hanging out with people much older than her. In short, she was over mature for age. She only liked intellectual discussions with people much older than us. Even now, she prefers the next level of discussion with seniors, rather than spending time with her fellow models. How our society as a whole is within a framework and everyone expects everyone to be in same. The majority of us do, but just as there are exceptions to every rule, must be to this, and Prachiti was one. She had two inborn divine gifts, namely, "CLARI COGNIZANCE" and "CLARI EMPATHY". As you may know, Clari Cognizance is about knowing things a lot well in advance. It has nothing to do with age, experience, but a person learns many things faster and deeper than others. Because of this, she used to advise people older and more experienced than her, which was to their advantage. But most of the time she couldn't tell the other person and she kept bothering herself. At first, she even thought, why don't people understand simple things, are they stupid? But slowly she began to understand, no, people are normal, I am far ahead of time. This only increased her patience and understanding, which always worked for her. They say, "Understanding is perfect in itself ..." I learned that understanding makes everything sound easy, Prachiti started implementing it. In Clari Empathy, she knew what was going on in others' minds, without them telling her. That's why she was able to connect with everyone very quickly. She was very obedient and sincere from a very young age, she had the art of knowing people and their problems, that was her uniqueness. Isn't there something different about her? "Why do you stay that way? Be neat, look at the girls around you, how neat they are .." You will certainly not believe seeing Prachiti now, but she is very simple to look at, to live in. In her own words, she was ugly, someone to whom no one will turn around. Hair drenched in oil, spoiled front teeth, round magnifying glasses. ...... It is said that God doesn't give you something and gives more to something else. God has given everyone a sense of extra and strong to fulfil the lack of something missing. Ask what was it for Prachiti? Read on. Prachiti had a "spiritual blessing", a "legacy of social work" and a beauty that wanted to unfold, she was yet to know herself. When she was 11-12 years old, she helped during the earthquake. At a very young age, she began to anticipate people's problems, not only understanding their problems, but they were reaching out to her and causing her indirect pain. It was so common for her to cry all of a sudden when talking to people that people began to think she was crazy. At the tender age of thirteen, Prachiti started reading spiritual books. While reading them, she came to know, "Oh, this is what I have experienced, I have lived this ..." At that age, she started worshipping Sadguru. In doing so, she also turned to "Mind Fullness" and "Self Reflection". Prachiti enjoyed being with the trees so much that she would spend hours with them. At such a young age, what other children don't even think about, she used to do it, chat with God in the morning and at night. Isn't something really special? Along with that, she was on the right path to academic progress. From the tenth year to the twelfth, she studied day and night, literally day and night. The only goal in my head is to become a doctor. Later she reached Nagpur for medical education. Here too, she could have just relaxed and enjoyed studying, but that wasn't Prachiti. Here too she worked in Doordarshanfor and Tarun Bharat. At the same time, she had a knack at art, she started painting through meditation, on clothes, canvas, murals. She was also aware of the art of dance. Isn't it a divine gift? And even after all this, she was never less in studies. She has done Medical Education, MBBS with 98.67% marks in 12th standard. Later she studied anesthesiology at KEM Pune. Eventually, she married a doctor. After the death of their mother-in-law, they moved to a small village. Here she began to manage the hospital. Her husband, father and other family members, relatives are mostly gynaecologists. About 100-120 patients a day was no big deal for them, 70 or more was the bare minimum, of course, more women. Here her spiritual knowledge helped her. When talking to women, she could easily adapt herself to them, to their problems. In it, she realized that about 80% of women's problems are due to mental stress. For them, she started yoga guidance, counselling. Along with his mental problems, she realized that many women are going through these financial problems. Prachiti set up the "Abhijeeta Mahila Hastakala" centre as a small token of sense for women. She was carrying out another social task of making women financially self-sufficient by combining the art and hard work of women. One thing to mention here is that their "Banjara Embroidery" has also been awarded by the "Government of India FSDO". Prachiti started Life Coaching, for which she founded Prachiti Kokoro in August 2008. She also took courses like "CBT, NLP" to help her work harder and reach more people by adding science to her spirituality. Life coaching, counselling has helped her overcome most of the problems of women, even infertility. Prachiti has two smart and virtuous children, the elder daughter and a younger son. The boy had many medical problems. For two years she was so tied up that she forgot to sleep. So much so, that she began to suffer from a spinal cord injury. But even in this situation, if she didn't give up, she did not stop her education even during that time. Passed three exams of Mind Fullness (Level 1, 2, 3) along with Ayurveda and Homeopathy studies. As her son turned five years and his problems were solved, Prachiti was ready to move on. Now she started Ashram Seva, Panchatatva Sadhana, Shivanbhu Sadhana. Prachiti also performed three months of rigorous penance. When the children got a little older, Prachiti kept them at home in Pune and continued her medical practice in another city. During her important year, however, she came to live with them. Here too, she worked as a "faculty lecturer" at the School of Fashion Technology. Now comes the real "twist" in her life. Do they ever come shouting, of course not? Once in Pune, she came across an advertisement for "WEAA Miss India". Prachiti had a fashion sense from the beginning. Among other negative things, she was always appreciated for her clothes and jewellery. She loved it too. So, when this advertisement reached her, just a day before the deadline, she filled out the form with the help of neighbours. She wanted to do something new and different, even though she didn't know what to do, how to do it, whether she could do it or not. She won Mrs Pune, and later she started looking for Mrs India. In this, her goal was different from others. Only social work is the purpose, everyone says, but Prachiti wanted other common people to benefit from the spiritual knowledge she was born with. So. After Mrs Pune, she went on a Delhi, Jaipur, Agra trip with her niece and sister in law. At a program there, it was casually asked on stage, "Does anyone want to sing?" Prachiti reached the stage. She sang the song that she loved since childhood, which she always praised, the song that she had forgotten because of bullying, "Main sundar na sahi, par chehra mera kuch bura nahi....... Banungi main Miss India.." In the case of Prachiti, this song turns out to be true. With the help of spirituality, science, spiritual beauty, the hope of innovation, the habit of immersing oneself in the work undertaken and the determination to achieve success, Prachiti became not "Miss India" but "Mrs India". Dr Prachiti Punde from Pune won the title ‘Mrs. Universe Austral Asia and she represented in December 2021 for Mrs Universe where contestants from 90 countries of the world participate. Her "Doctor by Profession and Model by Passion" is an inspiration to all aspiring girls, and will be. Whatever is your field of work, you should cherish your passion, if you make progress in the field of your passion, then this success in the field is yours. You have talent inside you, some qualities are inborn. You just have to help yourself and others to get benefited. She is a real person. She struggles, and she sparkles. She is no longer afraid to say what makes her angry, sad, or what she thinks is unfair. She's not afraid to admit that at times she feels worthless, lost, or not enough. She's refusing to hide from love, beauty, aliveness, magic, and abundance. She won't edit the sad or messed up parts of her story, or the magnitude of her triumphs, to make anyone comfortable. She is a real person. Her basic purpose has always been social work. That is why she emphasized SELF MASTERY, by adding science to her innate spiritual knowledge. That's why her KOKORO organization was founded. To reach out to others, she came to these competitions. She wanted to get other women along with her. She has been working on Mind Fullness for 24 years, for which she is also representing India. She wishes to tell women that they don't have to hurt anyone to get something, you don't have to lose themselves, modelling. You can get what you want by combining the two, but for that you need to get "self-mastery". This is the message she wants to give to the whole world from India, that's why she chose the field of Pageant and modeling so that she can reach out to as many people as possible, especially women. My writing journey started purely by accident. My obsession with rhyming extraneous sentences has gotten me here. I’m thankful to God and many of his messengers who have guided me along this path. First and foremost, my mother. She’s been an absolute inspiration and I can’t thank her enough. She saw potential in me even when I didn’t. She has proofread every single poem of mine and has attended every open mic as well. One of the greatest motivators to publish the book was her optimism and belief that even I can write. I look up to her and always will. She’s the greatest Human being I know. She’s someone from whom I’ve never felt the need to hide or masquerade any of my thoughts and experiences, as she’s been my best friend as much as she’s been a mother. Along with her, my Nani, my uncle Ravi, my sister Mehar, my aunt Deepa and my brother Khush have always lent great support to me in all my endeavours. They perpetually shower me with love and blessings whenever I’ve ventured into anything. It’s always endearing when some members of the family fully encourage you in all activities. They are people I can talk to without percolating anything too. Their guidance and support have guided me through all walks of life. Some of my teachers have been guiding lights at various phases. My 4th-grade teacher Ratna Ma’am was a teacher who saw potential in me to excel in academics and she was a formidable source of support in my growth as an agile individual. My 8th grade English teacher Sumaiya Ma’am was the first one who ever heard my poetry and she encouraged me more by allowing me to recite my poetry in class as well as start participating in competitions. Then came my French teacher, Thanu ma’am. She was one of the first people to suggest that I move to an IB school, and frankly, my life changed completely because of that. Thanks to her suggestion and my mom’s research and perseverance, I was able to discern Shakespearean Literature and Wilfred Owen's poems in my new school. This made me evolve tremendously as a thinker and a writer. Plus, I got an opportunity to be taught by Ms Noonan, Ms Brandt and Mr Pownall, who all nurtured my growth throughout and made sure I remain focused, dedicated and sustained the appetite to learn. The writing communities on Instagram played a pivotal role in getting me to where I am present. 2 writers namely ‘Moments’ and Nandini Goel gave me a massive opportunity to be part of their Instagram Community ‘Eunoia Prompts’ and host live reading shows. That helped me develop my skills as a writer and a spoken word artist. I gained the confidence to participate in more open mics in various prompt challenges. Speaking of challenges, I started developing my book only after winning a writing challenge organized by ‘Split Poetry India’, who eventually published my book. Will forever be grateful to them. After Eunoia, Niveditha Navin offered me to join their community ‘Heart of Quill’. These 2 communities are where I had immense fun interacting with all writers and I’ll be forever indebted to all the members for the wisdom they’ve showered upon me, as well as their warm reception towards my writing. They all made me feel a part of their illustrious families from the first day itself. Disha and Gauri, are 2 gems who have supported me immensely by being so affable and receptive in all their lives and being the first who was willing to interview me and promote my book extensively. Whatever I say about them is less. They’ve been an incredible support for me along with being exceptional writers and human beings. They’ve always given me such constructive and helpful feedback which has enabled me to evolve as a content creator. They’re the first 2 people I go to in the writing community whenever I have something different planned because I always trust their word. Prachetan Sir, Anmol, - Shivangi, Fatima, Adya, Adrisha, Abby, Gurneet, Margaret,Zahra, Keith, ‘Fankaar Open Mic’, Lajja, Bhawna, Vaibhav, Ojas, Chris (one of the greatest open mic hosts), Vartika, Saira, Fatimah and Pammy Di are my family away from home. I consider myself blessed to have met such kind and pure-hearted souls on my journey. They’re all great teachers of literature and I learn something new from them every day. Rohan Sir and his community ‘The House of Talent’ as well as ‘Kreative Keeda’, which was started by Deepika Ji and Priya Ji are both phenomenal sources of encouragement and inspiration. I performed in my first in-person open mic for ‘The House of Talent’ and their tremendous reception made me neglect all jitters. I learnt a great deal from the craft and spontaneity of Rohan Sir and other accomplished writers. Both these communities also helped me hone my craft of Hindi poems. I do have discrepancies in the Hindi language but regular exposure to such adroit Hindi language poets aided me significantly. My friends Deepak, Nachiket, Joel, Muskaan, Marc, Kevin, Bhumika, Chris Biju, Viral, Jaser, Michelle, Sharon, Aarya, Rosh, Kyra, Manal, George and Melody have always unabashedly supported me throughout my literary journey. They’re genuine well-wishers who have always had their hand on my shoulder and get excited about my smallest of feats. My friendships with them are sacrosanct and I can’t thank them enough for the support they gave at times of jittery uncertainty. When it comes to my book, the collaborative short film or my posts on Instagram, they have always supported me consistently. Along with Deepak, Kevin and Bhumika, Livana, Alicia and Rena were mind-blowing support during the making of our short film. They’re all creatively sound and it was great working with such amazing human beings. The proficiency and dedication shown by the whole team behind this film is something I’ve inculcated, and it has helped me a great deal. I thank God every day for blessing my life with all these precious people. If you want to stay connected with me, here's the link https://www.instagram.com/yours_truly_gauravcjk/
