  • A Journey of Inspiration: Mr. Nagesh Sopan Hulawale By Pratibha Pitke

God created this universe, and life itself is nothing short of a miracle! The story of Mr. Nagesh Sopan Hulawale, a young man who navigates the ups and downs of life with relentless determination to make his existence meaningful, is bound to inspire countless others. Nagesh Hulawale Born in the quaint village of Jambhale, nestled in the embrace of the Sahyadri mountains, Mr. Nagesh Sopan Hulawale grew up in a region sanctified by the divine presence of Avatar Meher Baba. His family of five—his parents and two brothers—lived a simple, contented life. Dependent on rain-fed agriculture, their income was modest, but his parents instilled in him invaluable lessons. His father, despite ending his formal education at matriculation, taught Mr. Nagesh and his brothers the art of living joyfully within means and imbued them with strong moral values and character. While they couldn’t provide a lavish lifestyle, they gifted their children something far greater—principles, resilience, and integrity. From an early age, Nagesh was well-liked—sensitive, spirited, and occasionally quick-tempered, though he rarely expressed his emotions outwardly. When his father moved to Mumbai for work, Nagesh stayed back in the village with his maternal uncle, where he embraced hard work as a way of life. The daily six-kilometre trek to school in Brahmanwada was routine. When Nagesh was in the 9th grade, his father returned to the village and began farming. It was only in class 10 that his father bought him an old bicycle, making his journey to school easier. Pursuing his BA and MA demanded immense effort, and as the eldest sibling, he shouldered significant responsibilities. In 2004, he arrived in Mumbai, taught in private coaching classes while honing various skills, and completed his B.Ed. For Mr. Nagesh Sopan Hulawale, effort always trumped fate. Though he aspired to pursue an MBA and had the aptitude, financial constraints forced him to abandon it after a year. Undeterred, he secured a job as an assistant teacher at a night school in Andheri through sheer perseverance. Pratibha Pitke Soon after joining the night school, Usha, an MA and B.Ed. graduate, entered his life as his wife, bringing with her the blessings of prosperity and wisdom. Their home in Dombivli became a reality, and their daughter, Sai, bloomed like a sweet flower on the vine of their family. Mr. Nagesh Sopan Hulawale also taught at a junior college for a time, never shying away from hard work. His family life was blissful, yet his restless spirit yearned for more. His heart urged him to do something greater, to leave a mark. This inner calling led him to establish World Vision, a platform dedicated to literary, social, and cultural initiatives, where he serves as the founding president. Through this organisation, he has organised numerous literary and cultural programs, including a year-long series of literary events to celebrate the Amrit Mahotsav of India’s independence. He also orchestrated the historic Savitribai Phule Night School National Poets’ Meet at the iconic National Library in Bandra. A literary soul at heart, Mr. Nagesh Sopan Hulawale’s contributions are nothing short of extraordinary. His translation of the Prithvi Sanghrajya Constitution into Marathi, offered free of charge, is a testament to his commitment to society. His literary repertoire is vast, spanning far beyond stories and poems to include complex subjects that leave readers in awe. His poetry collection, Anandachya Lahari (Waves of Joy), has been published, as has his English translation of From Cleanliness to Prosperity. He has effortlessly edited works on themes like Swatantryaveer Savarkar, The Saga of the Freedom Struggle, and We Are Shivaji’s Mavlas. The sheer breadth of his literary achievements is staggering, making it feel as though documenting his work is like a sparrow attempting to drink the ocean. Mr. Nagesh Sopan Hulawale’s accolades speak volumes about his monumental contributions. Among them, the Sahitya Bhushan Award from Pune’s Marathboli Sanstha stands out as a cherished milestone. Other honours include the International Vishwasnehi Award, the Savitribai Phule Karmayogi Rashtriya Puraskar – 2022, awarded by the historic National Library, Bandra, the Rotary Club’s Nation Builder Award, the International Dahali Tricentenary Award, Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Best Editor Award, Kavivarya Narayan Surve Memorial Award, and the Ideal Teacher Award 2023 from the Kalyan Nagari Weekly Newspaper Group. The list is seemingly endless. Notably, he edited the commemorative volume Regulus 18 August, based on the life of renowned litterateur Dr. Madhusudan Ghanekar. His interview on Radio FTII Pune is a must-listen, brimming with insights. Mr. Nagesh Sopan Hulawale’s writings also grace English newspapers, and he passionately conducts lectures, camps, and workshops on diverse topics. Organising innovative initiatives and ensuring their success is his passion. Before the pandemic, he arranged a lecture series for class 10 students and continues to conduct English workshops in schools. To provide a platform for writers, he launched World Vision Times Mumbai, a digital daily dedicated to literature, where he serves as editor. This platform publishes works by both established and emerging writers, free of charge, every day. How does one even begin to praise such a multifaceted, dedicated artist? His work is infused with a spirit of devotion, a quality that defines his very being. • Nation First: United we stand as HINDUSTANI - Mukul Phate

India is currently navigating through a critical and sensitive period as tensions rise with our neighbouring nation, Pakistan. At such times, it becomes not just a responsibility but a moral duty for every Indian to remain united, calm, and alert. We must remember that misinformation is a silent enemy. Social media is flooded with unverified content, rumours, and emotionally charged posts. Do not fall into the trap of fake news. Do not spread it. Trust only official sources—be it the Indian Army or Government communications. False information does not just mislead people; it creates panic, spreads fear, and in many cases, unknowingly aids the enemy. Our brave soldiers are not sleeping tonight so we can. They are putting their lives on the line for the safety and sovereignty of our nation. Let’s give them our fullest support, prayers, and deepest respect. Now is the time to show that we are truly a strong and united India. A Note of Warning: Betrayal Is Not Freedom of Speech At the same time, I feel compelled to raise my voice against those within our borders who are openly supporting the enemy nation on social media platforms. This is not an expression of democratic rights. This is betrayal. When our soldiers are defending the nation with their lives, those who glorify the enemy must be dealt with the strictest legal action—even capital punishment, if necessary. Freedom of speech comes with responsibility. Using it to support a hostile nation in times of national emergency is treason, not activism. Media – Please Be Sensible. The Nation Comes First. I have just one request to our national media houses: do not telecast sensitive details about our armed forces' movements or strategies. We understand you want views, but national security is not a TRP race. During war, silence is not weakness; it is strategy. A mature media must know what to show and what to hold back. The lives of our soldiers depend on it. We Are Not Divided by Religion – We Are United by Nationhood In times like these, some are still asking:“Are you Hindu? Are you Muslim?”My answer, and I hope yours too, is: We are Hindustani. Our only religion right now is India. Our only duty is to stand united. Our only identity must be that we are proud Indians, not divided by caste, community, or belief. Let us show the world that India is not a nation of fragments, but a collective heartbeat of unity, strength, and pride. Let us be proud. Let us be strong. Let us be one. Jai Hind! Vande Mataram!

  • TAAPMA Hosts Day-Long Polymers Conference 2025 on “The New Phase of Plastics Innovation”

The Telangana and Andhra Plastics Manufacturers Association (TAAPMA), a premier trade body representing over 90% of the plastics industry turnover in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, successfully organized on Friday the 4th edition of its flagship Polymers Conference 2025 at Park Hyatt, Hyderabad.   Themed “Smart, Sustainable, Specialised: The New Phase of Plastics Innovation,” the conference brought together more than 250 delegates from across India.   The conference witnessed participation from several leading industry players including Cosmos Films Ltd , Kohli Printing , DIC India Ltd , and Windmöller & Hölscher , among others.   Dr. E. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy , Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC), inaugurated the conference as Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he emphasised the state's strong commitment to the polymers sector, citing Telangana as the largest polymers hub in South India.   He announced that a second exclusive Plastics Park is being planned south of the Shamshabad Airport , further building on the success of the TGIIC Mankhal Plastics Park . “We are in the process of finalising the location. Given the rising demand, the government is actively considering this expansion in consultation with the industry,” he said.   Dr. Reddy also highlighted the state’s efforts in promoting women entrepreneurship through Mahilashakti Industrial Hubs in every district and emphasized Telangana's growing role as a circular economy leader .   Responding to concerns raised by Mr. Anil Reddy Vennam , Senior Vice President of the All India Plastics Manufacturers’ Association (AIPMA), regarding skyrocketing land prices, Dr. Reddy assured that land rates in plastic parks are being frozen until 50% occupancy is achieved . To support MSMES, he announced the rollout of flatted factory sheds and plug-and-play facilities at subsidised rates, with three such units ready for occupation.   Additionally, Dr. Reddy announced Telangana’s first dry port at Manoharabad , which will be developed as a multi-modal logistics hub under a PPP model, with two more dry ports in the pipeline.   Mr. Anil Reddy Vennam , Sr VP, AIPMA, pointed out that although the polymer industry should ideally mirror or outpace GDP growth, it has seen inconsistent performance. “Polymer consumption in 2024–25 stood at 20.4 million metric tonnes, reflecting just 4% growth over the previous year. Prices remain lower than pre-COVID levels, and domestic raw material producers are not adequately supporting local players,” he noted.   He further appealed to the government for the establishment of a dedicated plastics recycling park and allocation of 500 acres for TAAPMA-led development.   In his welcome address, Mr. Narendra Baldwa , President, TAAPMA, stressed the importance of innovation focused on sustainability, circularity, and advanced materials , while recognizing Telangana’s industry-friendly policies.   Mr. Shiv Kumar Gupta , Conference Chair, noted that environment and sustainability are now at the forefront of industry transformation. “Telangana’s forest cover of 24% is well above the national average of 21.71% — this is a significant ecological advantage,” he said.   The conference featured three technical sessions and panel discussions , exploring emerging trends and critical industry challenges.   Other key participants included Mr. Prem Kankaria (Advisor) , Mr. AVPS Chakravarthy (Panel Chair) , Mr. Kamlesh Gupta (Secretary, TAAPMA) , and Mr. Rahul Agarwal (Conference Co-Chairman) .
