In a moving and purposeful ceremony held at its Khajaguda facility, Sparsh Hospice—Hyderabad’s leading centre for palliative care—unveiled its latest initiative, “Guardian of Sparsh,” aimed at ensuring free and dignified care for terminally ill patients. The campaign was officially launched by renowned film actress Sreeleela, who pledged her wholehearted support and called on the public to join the movement.
With palpable emotion, Sreeleela urged citizens to become monthly donors, stating, “You can become a Guardian of Sparsh with just ₹500 a month, or more if you wish, for three years. This small gesture can help provide a dignified farewell to those who are nearing the end of life.” She toured the state-of-the-art facility, spent time with patients and caregivers, and even took a moment to dance and entertain, bringing smiles and comfort to the faces around her.

The “Guardian of Sparsh” initiative seeks to onboard 5,000 supporters to cover the monthly operational cost of ₹50 lakh—or ₹6 crore annually—needed to keep the hospice’s services entirely free. These services include in-patient, out-patient, and home-based palliative care for terminally ill cancer patients, many of whom come from marginalized backgrounds.
“All our services are offered at no cost to patients,” shared Dr. Subrahmanyam and Mr. Suresh Reddy, Founder Trustees of Sparsh Hospice. “We care for those who are beyond medical cure, ensuring they receive comfort, care, and dignity in their final days. We believe a dignified demise is everyone’s birthright.”
Sparsh Hospice’s model of care is unique not just in its medical offering but in its compassionate, patient-centric approach—an ethos echoed by the many volunteers and staff who keep its mission alive. From pain management to emotional support, the hospice strives to transform the final chapter of life into one of peace, comfort, and meaning.
The launch of “Guardian of Sparsh” is more than just a fundraising effort—it is a heartfelt invitation to society to recognize the importance of end-of-life care and participate in it meaningfully. As Sreeleela aptly put it, “Let us not wait until it’s personal. Let us become Guardians today—for someone’s mother, someone’s father, someone’s child.”
With this new campaign, Sparsh Hospice continues to set the standard for palliative care in India, bringing not just medical aid but dignity and humanity to those who need it most.
