  • The Kingdom of Atlantis Presents Conference on SDG explored innovation & sustainable solutions

People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace and Partnership are the most crucial factors for humanity and their sustainability The systems-based approach recognizes that progress on one goal, in one place, could either undermine or enhance progress on other goals, there or elsewhere. With this motto, The Ministry of Sustainable Development-The Kingdom of Atlantis hosted a two days international conference on (26th and 27th February 2022) exploring Innovation and Sustainable Development Goals. The conference aimed to understand various innovative approaches to the SDGs and how we can move forward to develop cross-disciplinary, multidisciplinary, beyond boundary research and job opportunities at the Kingdom of Atlantis, other activities with our decentralised sovereign government to address the goals. This conference sought to facilitate knowledge and best practice exchange, as well as spur cross-disciplinary and beyond boundary collaborations to address the SDGs. Keynote speakers, panellists, and participants from across the globe shared perspectives, ideas, and innovative approaches to the Global Goals throughout the conference. By bringing together leading experts from across the globe and beyond, Beyond Boundaries enabled participants to share work, identify gaps in collective understanding, explore solutions and consider appropriate measures to address, and further, the SDGs. Throughout, discussions explored how we can move forward on developing cross-disciplinary and cross-boundary impacts-through research, global engagement, partnerships, teaching and community activities – that support the achievement of international goals and address global challenges. Overall, the SDG Summit confirmed the persevering with the sturdy dedication of the global network to the 2030 Agenda and to multilateral collaboration for attaining the SDGs via way of means of 2030 Key Messages from this International conference/SDG Summit: The dedication to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development stays steadfast at the best degree of the presidency and amongst stakeholders. Yet it's miles clean that the sector isn't on the right track to fulfil the SDGs via way of means of 2030. The destiny is now, and the Earth's structures are converting speedy. The SDGs can nonetheless be finished if the global network steps up the rate and ambition of its movements. Many international locations were proactively imposing the SDGs, incorporating them in rules and strategies, and outlining their long-time period imaginative and prescient for transformation to greater sustainable and simply economies and societies. However, the shared view is that the worldwide reaction isn't but sufficiently transformative. Most of the 21 objectives special for success via way of means of 2020 will in all likelihood now no longer be met and we aren't on the right track for attaining many different objectives via way of means of 2030. Governments can not do it alone; they're attaining out to forge new partnerships with civil society, businesses, and the medical and technological network. National plans ought to mirror a singly interconnected global, and deal with complicated flows of goods, capital, facts and people. For such efforts to be effective, it's miles vital that each international location pursue the SDGs as structures, completely spotting the interconnections throughout sectors, international locations and levels, from international to local. Positive synergies want to be harnessed and hard trade-offs want to be addressed greater speedy and effectively, Interventions may have more than one affects throughout the SDGs: human well being and capabilities; sustainable and simply economics; meals structures and vitamins patterns; strength decarbonization with ordinary get right of entry to; city and peri-city improvement; and international environmental commons. Across one's areas, governance, financial system and finance, person and collective motion, and technology and era are vital levers that could assist international locations to reap superb synergistic effects throughout the SDGs. While there may be enough know-how to behave now, it's miles key to make certain that know-how is to be had to people who want it. This calls for strengthening the technology-coverage interface and developing know-how structures in each country. Unequal get right of entry to to medical records and know-how structures is a chief impediment to the ordinary implementation of the 2030 Agenda, mainly for the Least Developed Countries and Small Island Developing States. Urgent motion ought to be taken via way of means of improvement companions to triumph over this deficit. Weaknesses in governance, corruption and declining civic area are principal boundaries to the SDGs and selling human rights and helping movements to foster peace and justice are critical for progress. • Rohit Sharma : the captain creating records

Within just 5 months of being India's full-time captain, Rohit has surpassed Morgan and Williamson to register the most wins as a T20 captain for the matches happening at home. Winning the total 16 T20 at home as captain, he has had the highest wins for any captain at home. He also surpassed MS Dhoni who had 13 and Virat Kohli who had 14 victories respectively in India. Also with the Srilanka series win, India registered its 12th consecutive T20I victory, which is the highest for any test playing nation. If looking at his form from 2008 to 2013, someone would have said that Rohit will lead India in future in all three formats, the person would've been termed as a fool. But fooling everyone like a boss, he did it. At this point, he is the captain to win IPL the most number of times, and within 5 months, he has become the captain to have the most international wins at home. He has a staggering record of captaincy both at the IPL and international levels. But what makes Rohit an amazing captain? The answer is simple. Rohit keeps things simple and allows the players to do whatever they want to. His game awareness is great and his field placements are spot on. In addition to this, he uses the bowlers optimally. His rotation of the bowlers does the trick for his team. In pressure situations or death particularly, his calm head taking the right decision to choose the bowler gives the team the required output. Speaking about the international level, Virat's team and Rohit's team had a major difference. Virat's team didn't have any other captain who could guide him to take decisions, while Rohit's team has Virat Kohli who guides him to make crucial decisions. The so-called claims "rift" by the media sources were deterred right in the first match of the West Indies series when one saw Virat helping Rohit set the field, and also suggest he take crucial DRS decisions. And just like Virat, Rohit believes in sacrificing his position at times to provide a youngster with a new opportunity. Virat has done it in numerous instances for many players, the latest of which have been when he let Shreyas and Surya bat at his position at which he dominated the world. Similarly, in the last match of the Sri Lanka series, Rohit demoted himself to make Ruturaj Gaikwad open the innings. He could have dented Ishan Kishan and opened alongside Ruturaj, but he did the opposite. This marks the difference between a captain and a leader. Rohit, Virat are leaders, and KL is a captain. Rohit has believed in giving opportunities to others. He likes to back the players. He made it big because he was backed. Despite having inconsistent performances, MS Dhoni allowed him to open the innings in the 2012 England series, which led to the resurrection of Rohit Sharma. And he continues the legacy of backing players in both, the IPL as well as domestic cricket. All these qualities make him a sensible choice as a skipper in limited over for Men in Blue. There has to be some kind of potential in a player when he is made the captain of the team consisting of Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting. Fortunately for India, this potential was recognised by Sachin, who sacrificed captaincy and handed it over to Rohit. And Rohit proved god's decision right by winning Mumbai Indians the first (and Sachin Tendulkar the only) IPL title. Since then he has done wonders. An average winning percentage of 70 % in IPL, 82% in ODI, and 90 % in T20I show what a leader Hitman is. Although he has never captained for red-ball cricket, it would be interesting to see how he leads the Men in Blue in tests. Seeing his qualities, one can expect he excels there too. • The inning which made Virat a brand

Exactly a decade ago, the chubby boy from Delhi, and the former U-19 captain of India, Virat Kohli played one of the finest innings you will ever come across. The day marks the beginning of Virat turning into a brand for India and world cricket. With his aggression, he kept the Sri Lankan bowlers at bay and took the world by storm leaving them in his admiration. Since then, even till today, the best batter of the current generation, Virat has continued to rule the hearts of cricket fans across the globe. He is popular not just amongst the fans, but also across cricketers across the globe. Everyone loves to have him in his side or wants to do best when they play against him. One can guess his popularity when someone in PSL said that everyone is praying for Virat's 71st century. Even though the 71st has taken a lot of time to come, the fact that he has 70 centuries in the early years is an extraordinary thing in itself. But the most amazing century coming from his bat came exactly a decade ago from now. 28 February 2012, the Hobart crowd witnessed something very special. Before this, Virat had a few centuries, and most of it had come while chasing, but this 133 off 86 balls was something very very special. In the tri-nation series between India, Srilanka and Australia, India was playing a do or die match. Srilanka had scored a mammoth total of 320 runs, and to have a chance to qualify for the finals, India needed to chase the mammoth total in 40 overs. The task looked impossible. But not the case if you are Virat Kohli. As a player who loves to accept challenges, Virat accepted this one with both his hands. In the match, every Indian played beautifully. Sehwag, God of cricket Sachin and Gambhir played their part in the game. Then it was the turn of Virat to step in. And boy, he did that in some style. He thrashed the Sri Lankan attack in every possible way. It looked like he came on the crease as a set batter, and looked in complete flow. He displayed his immensely elegant array of strokes. His wristy flicks, his cover drives, his lofted drives were a treat to watch. His confidence was seen, when one of the finest bowlers, Malinga was thrashed for 24 runs in one over by the young Kohli. In the same over, Virat's bottom handed flick hit for a six, without moving his feet is a shot people played on repetition on YouTube. In the same over, he reached his century in 76 balls. The entire Hobart crowd applauded his effort. In the next 10 balls he played, he scores 33 runs more and led India to an unbelievable victory. India kept their hopes to the final alive, as they chased the total of 321 in 36.4 overs. The world was in the awe of the young gun. The headlines of the newspaper on the next day read "India doesn't fear any opposition, because it had a lethal weapon in the form of Virat Kohli". From that day, Virat continued to up his game, eventually becoming a top-notch player. In the next 3 weeks to follow, he scored his career-best 183 not out in Asia cup against archrivals Pakistan. In the same match, the world witnessed centuries of two best batters, Sachin and Virat. In the further days to come, Virat ruled world cricket like a boss. On the same date, 28 February 2016, he played a beautiful inning of 49 runs against Pakistan in a low scoring encounter in the T20s. Batters like Babar, Williamson, Root, Smith are great. But for the longest period, Virat has dominated this generation. And Virat's era truly started with this magnificent inning. The Chubby guy from Delhi went on to create and break records. The U-19 captain of the 2008 Indian team, led senior Men in Blue to a dominating position. Even when he is not the captain, hoarding in important ICC events depict him as the captain. Because, even though he is not captain, his era has not ended. His era will continue, sooner or later he will score his 71st century and will follow it with many more. But this special inning happening a decade ago will always be a special one for fans, and the man himself. • Power of Words in Life- Shivani Bhardwaj,

We remain so unaware of the power of our words, and utter them without giving them an ounce of thought, little it is that we realise that our actions, words & stupid jokes impact people and influences their beliefs about their esteem and integrity. Imagine somebody out there believes he’s a loser just because of you, because of a joke, a meme, a comment you made just to look cool or funny in front of your followers, but not everyone born with thick skin, not everyone can withstand the harsh criticism. Some are more vulnerable than others and become easily overwhelmed and disappointed in themselves. Your words could be a reason for someone’s heart to shatter, for someone to cry all night long. It can damage & traumatise someone beyond where language can reach and could scar someone for the rest of their lives. We refuse to even countenance the idea that some just have to struggle much more to reach minimum expectations. We all err, we’re all trying to figure out life, but instead of pouncing on someone’s flawed understanding for a more giggle, try to make them aware about their flawed understanding not by mocking them but with empathy, favour privacy and advising them, a little introspection into someone’s behaviour can reveal how they’re just staggering along to decide things on a basis of no knowledge. Did you know everything that you know now all the way along? Knowledge isn’t something we are inherently born with, we all learn by trial and error and while we’re all in this trial of life let’s rectify the errors of one another with love and empathy, the empathy we speak endlessly of but refuse to act upon when it’s required. This single alternation in our intention, let alone our behaviour, could improve a lot of things around us. Don’t be a reason for someone’s misery or sorrow. Don’t let the belief of superiority of the knowledge or facts that you’ve gathered be stamped all over your existence. Instead, put your knowledge & insight at the service of others and help each other to grow. The process of growth is a process of cultivation that we consciously and actively choose and while you’re making that choice for yourself, choose the same for everyone else around you too & contribute to each other’s accomplishments. LET’S HEAL AND GROW TOGETHER! Written By: SHIVANI BHARDWAJ (Educator, Researcher and Writer) LinkedIn

  • A much needed win for Women in Blue

Since the start of 2022, every match Women in Blue played had resulted in a loss. The losing streak eventually ended when India chased the target of 252 successfully in the last ODI match of the 5 match series. The win was crucial from an Indian point of view for multiple reasons. This victory was important to boost the morale of the women stalwarts, who otherwise had a not-so-good outing. Furthermore, it will bring the Indian women's team in the right frame of mind with the grand event of the World Cup starting from 4th March. The most pleasing factor of this victory was the contribution of the 3 most experienced batters in the Indian side, Smriti, Harmanpreet and skipper Mithali. Harman was out of form for a long time and seeing her get those runs just before the world cup, in particular, was a sight Indians loved. Smriti and Mithali have performed regularly, but rarely it happened that both of them performed well in the same match, but fortunately it happened at the right time. Winning the toss, Sophie Devine had chosen to bat. And the captain and Amelia Kerr batted well, after losing the stalwart Suzie Bates early. But once their partnership was broken, every other batter played small cameos, but couldn't make it big. A big bonus for India was the performance of spinners on the New Zealand pitches. All the spinners, Gayakwad, Rana, Deepti and Poonam did their job to perfection. Post that, it was the job of batters. And chase master Smriti did what she is known for. She played her natural game and took on the Kiwi bowlers. Looked like she was trying to remove her frustration of not playing the first three matches. Harman batted almost run-a-ball scoring 63, a knock which was very important for her considering her slump in form while playing for India. It was a relief to see her getting in the groove, knowing what she has done earlier in the ICC events. Mithali continued to do, what she does, scoring runs for fun. The contribution of senior-most last batters led India to a successful chase. The victory was important for Women's cricket in India. Since 2021, when Women in Blue started to play post covid, they have only managed to win 6 matches out of the 28 matches they have played overall. Last year they won 5, with the 5th one being a memorable one, which ended the Aussie winning streak in ODI's. Everyone was hoping to see the team perform this year against Kiwis. But Kiwis had an upper hand in all the matches, they won the only T20 and was almost about to whitewash Women in Blue. Fortunately, the victory came for India. The primary reason for the lack of performance from women in Blue is consistent and intent. The team lacked both. Too many experiments were made right in front of the world cup. And barring Smriti, Deepti and a few more players, everyone lack consistency. The fielding performance of the team was below average. Barring the superhuman catch from Harleen, nothing was worth the mention when it came to fielding. Plus, the intent seemed to be missing. It was seen when India could not defend 278 runs against Newzealand. Another important factor is the strike rate. The strike rate is something, which is haunting India even now. On one hand, everyone is praising Mithali, and rightly so for not throwing her wicket, but her strike rate is a matter of concern for the team, as at times it also puts other players under some pressure. If it is a part of the strategy, that Mithali will hold the wicket and others will maintain the strike, then that's not working either, because the middle order is lacking in the strike rate too. These things would have mattered a lot because talented players like Jemimah Rodrigues are not a part of the world cup. But fortunately, overcoming all these issues, the victory of the Indian team is a pleasing sight. The main goal apart from Winning the World Cup is to promote the women's game in India. There lies a bigger motive of giving equal respect to the women's team compared to the men's team. For that Women in Blue have to win matches. The glory cannot come if there are no victories. And in process of winning matches, if the short term goal of the World Cup is achieved, the long term motive to bring glory to women's cricket in India will be achieved. With this victory, the confidence of players, and hopes of billion people have gone in an upward way. As a true fan of Women's cricket, let's hope, this team with their increased confidence brings the first World Cup for the women's team in India and takes the first step to achieving the bigger motive. • 24th Feb- God hits the first double hundred in ODI's in men's cricket history

ODI cricket has a long history. Starting as 60 over per side, the ODI eventually turned into a 50 overs per side game. Scoring a hundred in this shorter format of the game was a challenge in itself. But it happened, and with increasing strike rates of batters, there was a time when individual scores close to 200 were reached by batters who barely missed register the double hundred. While in Women's cricket, Belinda Clark had already done it in 1998 with a blistering knock of 228, there was no instance of the same feat in men's cricket. It took 12 long years when in 2010, the first double hundred in men's cricket was registered. And it was registered by the greatest player to have ever played the game, master blaster, Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. For the God of cricket, it was just another day at the office when he created the record. But for billions of cricket fans across the globe, it was a moment to rejoice. They witnessed the history in making. Everyone had their eyes on the match happening in Gwalior. The single Little Master hit when he was on 199, and the golden words by Ravi Shastri saying "Get's it. The first man on the planet to reach 200, and its the Superman from India!" is something which the cricket fans will have in their hearts forever. The 37-year-old youngster had created history. Sachin's record at Gwalior (also on any ground) was staggering. And continuing his purple patch at the venue, he started to hit the South African attack in all directions. The likes of Steyn, Parnell, Langveldt, Kallis were dismantled by the bat of the GOAT. Despite losing the dangerous Sehwag early, Sachin continued to dominate the bowlers. And he was well supported by Dinesh Karthik, who scored 79 in the match. He showed no mercy on the bowlers. Every single punishable ball was sent to the fence or landed in the stands. Rarely one has seen the great Dale Steyn having no answers to the batters. This was one of those moments when it happened. Steyn was left in awe and admiration of the Little Master, when his ball bowled wide off was flicked to mid-on by Sachin who shuffled and displayed his wrist work. That shot was sufficient enough for everyone to understand what touches the little master was. He displayed his class, and as always his flick, cover drive, square cut, sweep, straight drives, and his ability to pierce the gap even with a 5-degree angle was a treat to watch for the cricket World. Earlier too, Sachin had reached almost near to 200, but couldn't make it. Against New Zealand in 2000, he had registered 186. In 2009, he scored a magnificent 175 while chasing 350 against the Aussies, and in 2009 again he missed a chance to register 200 when he was retired hurt on 167 playing in New Zealand against the Kiwis. Fans were eager to see the feat come from Master's bat this time. And they knew it could happen when the master reached in his 190s in the 45th over itself. But they had to wait. Master had reached 199 in the 47th over itself. In one of the rarest instances, the Indians did not want MS Dhoni to hit more boundaries to increase the score. They just wanted him to give strike to Master to witness history. But MS was firm to up the score, and he went on to hit sixes. Looking from the team's perspective, Sachin was happy to give strike to MS by running a single on the last bowl of every over after the 47th (Afterall all these legends, be it Sachin, or MS have always thought about the team first rather than their performance). With the last over in Olah, and Still MS not giving the single, Indian fans' heartbeats were rising. But a fine stop on the boundary from Hashim Amla, allowed the strike to come back to Sachin, who pushed the very next ball and made it to the history books (for 'n'th time). The cricketing world rejoiced the incident. Even the South Africans congratulated the great man, as they were at the receiving end of something very very special. The first two hundred in men's cricket had been registered. Post that Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, Chris Gayle, Martin Guptill have registered double hundreds, but the first one is always special. And to make it even special, it is the only double hundred, where the batter was not given a chance again due to dropped catches, which happened in all other two hundred excluding the one which came from Sachin. The Gwalior pitch was fortunate to witness the greatest player create history on its venue. Every cricket fan who watched the innings is blessed to be a part of a generation who saw Sachin Tendulkar bat. In the years to come, there will be a few more double hundreds in ODI which will come, but the first one coming from the God of cricket at the age of 37 against a strong bowling attack of South Africa, will always hold the most special place in the hearts of fans forever. Thank you, Sachin 💙 Coincidentally, we, team Stayfeatured also share our 1St anniversary today. We are really happy to share the day with the day history was created by Sachin Tendulkar. 24 is a lucky number for all of us. It marks the birth date of Sachin Tendulkar (24 April), it marks the date of our author's birthdate (24 June) and it marks the date when we started (24 February). Thank you for your support till now. Keep supporting in the form of your wishes and blessings. Authored By:- Ashwin Jangam ( Cricket Analyst, Host and Entertainer) Instagram ID: https://www.instagram.com/cricket_creativity/

  • Richa Ghosh- A gem of a cricketer, and a gem of a person

India has witnessed a wicket-keeper batsman, who is one of the finest finishers of the game. MS Dhoni, the greatest finisher for India has done wonders for India in every aspect of the game. When it comes to Women in Blue, however, there has been no fixed option of a wicket-keeper batter who can do wonders. Either a person was a good wicket-keeper or a good batter, but not both. But the inclusion of Richa Ghosh is changing things for the Indian women's team. Her fast hands rarely drop catches, her quick movements make stumping look easy, and her ability to hit long sixers in the crucial time give India the momentum it wants. Yesterday, the 18-year-old scored the fastest fifty for Women in Blue, which came in only 26 balls. She came in at a crucial time when India was in a bad position with 19/4, but the youngster batted her heart out and was the only player to score according to the required run rate. The ODI match, which was turned into a T20 because of rain gods, was eventually won by the Black Caps, but Richa made the match worth watching. Known for her fearless batting, she displayed it yet again. Her fearlessness was a strong part of her character since her childhood. Born and brought up in Siliguri, the girl played with the boys, as Siliguri didn't have any academy for girls back then. Her father was a club level cricketer, and a part-time umpire too. She developed an interest in the game after seeing her father play. At the age of 4, she started playing the game. At the fearless mere age of 12, she was selected for Bengal Domestic team. She made every opportunity count. Her fearless was still her strong point. In her career, her father had a huge role to play. Since she was too young, her father accompanied her to Kolkata for training. He even had to quit his business in 2016 to focus on Richa's training. His dedication and Richa's efforts paid off, as she received her maiden India call up in the T20 world cup 2020, after her dominating performance in Challenger Trophy 2020. Although she didn't get a chance to play in the tournament, she did witness the grandeur of the event. In the next few months, she was made her debut against mighty Aussies in the T20s in 2021. In the year to follow, she also received her ODI debut cap against Aussies, and she played her role of playing important match-winning run-a-ball cameos. Her game awareness was always up to the mark. She played sensibly by rotating the strike when needed and hit long sixes when the team needed to shift gears. Apart from her batting, her excellent glove work also turned out to be a big positive for India. Her quick movements helped India dismiss the opposition batters by stumping. In one instance, she almost pulls out an MS Dhoni style runout. Her role as a wicketkeeper who can finish games was liked by Hobart Hurricanes, who picked her for WBBL 2021. She played in the tournament, with her highest score of 46 runs. Her runs might be less in the tournament, but in her first match itself, she pull out an impossible-looking run out after a failed yet stunning effort to catch the ball. Be it on the field, or off the field, this girl always makes a mark with her acts. In one of the kindest fundraised and selfless acts, at the mere age of 16, she donated a hefty amount of INR 1 Lakh (Remember the pay gap between Indian men and women team) to the PM Cares fund, a fundraised for healthcare facilities to fight against the covid pandemic. This shows the kind of mature, kind-hearted person she is. Because at the mere age of 16, who has done this before? But Richa did it. In the match-winner truest possible manner, she won hearts, along with winning matches for her team. A match-winner for her team, there is no doubt that this girl is going to be the future superstar for India. India struggled to find a proper finisher after Veda Krishnamurthy, but in the form of Richa, India have overcompensated by getting a finisher, who can keep the wickets well. Her energy and words of the motivation behind the stumps are both infectious. Her game awareness is superb. If at such age, she is performing so well, one can only imagine what wonders she will do shortly. We congratulate this amazingly talented cricketer and a gem of a person Richa for her record and wish she goes on to become one of the best wicketkeeper batters in the history of women's cricket. • Surya Kumar Yadav- SKY is the limit for this guy

Batters in cricket are of two types - technical batter and an orthodox batter. Few play by the book cricketing shots, and there are few like Dhoni, who are have their style and play in an unorthodox way. Then there is Surya Kumar Yadav, who can hit one single ball in both- the orthodox as well as unorthodox way. It's a treat to watch him hit the ball in both: the orthodox as well as unorthodox way. His confidence is sky-high. His attitude is one of the ideal attitudes a player should have. One needs to have some kind of confidence to hit a six on the very first ball of his international career, after finally getting an opportunity to play for Men in Blue after being ignored for the past half a decade despite performing so well. But it's just a routine job for Surya, who did it against the threatening Jofra Archer on a similar short ball which dismissed the short ball expert Rohit Sharma just on the previous delivery. In the games to follow, he started his innings with either landing the ball in stands, or with a crunchy drive reaching the ropes in style. But how can someone be so confident? His coach Aswalkar says, it is just the way he is from the beginning. He never took any pressure. And he's always wanted to win the matches for the team, which he is doing. His passion for the game was so high that he often used to stay till late at night with his coach and would leave only after the coach left. He also played badminton well but eventually stopped playing it to focus on cricket. His dream was always to become a batter. And he did it. Initially for BARC, then for Mumbai, and West Zone, and finally for Men in Blue. But his journey was not as smooth as it seems. He had to wait for too long. After representing the school level, he was immediately selected for the Mumbai team based on his performance. In 2012 IPL, he was Selected from Mumbai Indians, but played only one game and was dismissed for a duck. In 2014, he was picked by KKR, a team he served well during the 4 years he played. He was promoted to VC in KKR, but eventually, in 2018, once again the most successful IPL franchise, Mumbai Indians bought him. Since then, he has been an integral part of Mumbai Indians. Stating about him, Gautam Gambhir said " Not retaining Surya was the biggest loss for KKR". And so. His performance in Mumbai Indians was even better than what he did for KKR. A perfect middle order batter for the team, he won many matches for the team. Although he always batted sensibly, he made sure he puts pressure on the opposition bowlers every time he came to bat. Sometimes with his ability to rotate the strike and hit only on good balls, and sometimes coming late in death overs smashing the ball in his own 360 degrees way, he always ensures MI were able to put a defendable score. He also performed in the domestic circuit playing for Mumbai the same way he did in the IPL. In every single trophy, he was amongst the top run-scorers for Mumbai. He dominated the bowlers in Duleep Trophy, Deodhar Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy, Ranji Trophy and IPL for 5 long years. Yet he was ignored by the selectors. He recalled once that every time the team was announced, his father would say "you are still not selected after this kind of performance". He had set a benchmark in IPL as well as domestic circuit, and still, despite his increasing age, he was not selected. People feared if he was going to be next to Amol Muzumbar. But he waited patiently. Even in th match, he made his debut, he did not get the chance to bat. But finally, when he got the opportunity, he made it count and made a statement of his arrival. It all happened because he had just the right attitude any player should have within. This is why, in 2020 IPL, even before he got selected for India, Surya showed attitude to the greatest batter of this generation Virat Kohli and not getting away with it was loved by millions. Furthermore, when he won the match for MI, his style of saying "Main hoon na " to the dressing room showed his ego and his mental strength. This attitude has also cost him at times, one of the instances is when he was dropped from the captaincy of the Mumbai domestic squad because of the same. But he didn't change. His attitude has done more good than harm to Men in Blue and all the teams he has played for. This is why, when every other Indian player struggled to play against Wanindu Hasranga in the 2021 Indian tour of Srilanka, Surya smashed 22 runs in his over. He always took charge of Hasranga, whose expression told it all. The same happened in Ind vs Pak T20 world cup match. When Shaheen Shah Afridi tore apart Rohit Sharma and Kl Rahul, Surya calmly hit an unorthodox six to him sending a message. Although he couldn't play a knock in that game, that shot was a sign showing his clear intentions. In a nutshell, Surya is just the perfect combination of Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers. He has all the stylish shots which Virat plays (and also his attitude), and he is equally elegant like AB De Villiers hitting those unorthodox shots. His sweep is sweet, his uppercuts are stylish, his drives are crunchy, and his scoops sending the ball over fine leg fence are a treat to watch, and a threat to the bowlers. He is a player to watch out for the future, especially in the pressure moments like ICC events knockouts. He is one of the most complete players in terms of shots, as well as his attitude. His tale is a tale of aggression, attitude, and tremendous patience. There is no doubt that he is going to make billions smile with his performances yet again when he steps on the field.
