- A fightback for a low scoring total, but a loss against defending champions for Women in Blue
This world cup has been full of ups of downs for the runners-up of the 2017 World Cup. Women in Blue started their campaign with a huge margin against the arch-rivals Pakistan. They followed it by a defeat by 62 runs against the hosts and favourites Kiwis. They came back stronger post to defeat the might, Caribbean team, with a huge margin of 155 runs. And yesterday they lost to the defending world champions England in a low scoring match. In a do or die match, England had the upper hand against India. The English bowlers did the trick for their team. With a strong batting line-up of Smriti, Mithali, Harman and other youngsters, the English bowlers had to bowl in the right areas, and they just did that. India's overreliance on Smriti and Harman was once again visible. The India duo, which did wonders in the last game couldn't quite get the hold of English bowlers. The top order, middle order and the experienced skipper Mithali couldn't do much to get the scorecard going. From 61/3, the Indian team was bundled for 134 runs. Indian batters couldn't do much, but Indian bowlers decided not to give anything easy for English batters. Meghna Singh struck right on the first ball she delivered, dismissing the dangerous Danielle Wyatt. And the Indian spearhead for many hears Jhulan Goswami caught Beaumont before the stumps. Both the pacers breather fire, but a small total like this was always going to be difficult to defend. After 2 down for 4 runs, skipper Heather Knight and Natalie Sciver took the matters into their hands and didn't allow the Indian bowlers to trouble them anymore. Sciver was dismissed by Vastrakar, but Knight was determined to be firm on one end. She stood tall and scored a much needed fifty for her and the team. Eventually, India did dismiss 3 more English batters, but by the time it was already too late. English team sighed relief after losing the first three encounters, thereby ensuring that their run in the tournament continues. On the other hand, for India, it was not a great sign to lose after beautifully winning the previous game. India might have lost, however, the fighting spirit of the team was laudable. Despite having a meagre total to defend against the strong contenders, the Indian bowlers gave their everything to make sure the win is still on the cards. Meghana bowled tight lines to keep English batters in check. Jhulan scalped her 250th international wicket becoming the first player to do so. The energy of Indian fielders was not low for one bit. The magnificent Blinder taken by Harmanpreet Kaur, knowing that the match was far from India's win, was being an example of the dedication Indian fielders put. The result did not go in India's favour, but these positives will help India keep their heads high and proceed in the next game with positive mindset. If English team can make strong comeback from 3 consecutive defeats, Indian team can definitely make one too. The further games against Australia, South Africa are going to be very crucial for Women in Blue's place in the tournament. Also having exposed the middle order in earlier stages would give them a chance to improve in the later stages of the tournament. One would just hope the injury of Harmanpreet is not serious, and that she will be a part of upcoming matches. All in all, if all these things are taken care of, India will be in the knockouts of this grand event. - The unstoppable Jhulan
It is believed that a career in sports doesn't last for too long due to the physical aspects the player has to look forward to. Particularly, the biggest myth about cricket is that a bowler cannot have a longer career. When the game was already unfair for the bowlers in terms of recognition, busting these myths make the case of a bowler even worse. But amidst all the chaos, one bowler has stood tall, and has delivered the game enormously. The superwoman is Jhulan Goswami. When a bowler playing for a decade is considered an achievement, the Chakdah Express has represented Women in Blue for more than 2 decades. It's a superhuman achievement for a bowler to play with so consistency for so long period. But overcoming every issue she faces, she carved her way to make it possible. In the process, she faces a lot of injuries, but she never let any affect her performance, which continues to dominate world cricket even today. In a career spanning 2 decades, she broke and created newer and newer records. At this point, she has 41 wickets in the Women's world cup, which is the highest by any bowler in the world. The highest wicket-taker in the world, she scalped her 250th wicket in yesterday's match against England. She has proved her monopoly as the best bowler in the history of women's cricket. No one has come near her to date, and one can rarely do that in near future. That is visible from the fact that the second-highest wicket-taker in women's cricket is Cathryn Fitzpatrick who had 180 wickets to her name. The difference of 70 wickets between the highest and the second-highest wicket-taker is enough to prove what a player Jhulan Goswami is. She is the only bowler to have crossed the 200 wicket mark in international cricket. Furthermore, she is the first and only bowler to have bowled a mammoth of 2000 plus overs in her long career serving Indian cricket and raising the bar of Tricolour every time she played. Even today, she continues to do so by being the spearhead while playing the 5th world cup in her career. Her unrealistic career of 2 long decades has broken the stereotypes in the best possible way. She continues to be an inspiration for many women, as well as men out there who get to learn what dedication, consistency and hard work means for a player. Speaking highly about her, one of the finest all-rounders Ellyse Perry recently said "Not just me, but our entire team has tremendous respect for what she has done for the game, not just for the Indian team, but the whole of women's cricket globally ". These words from a player who has played the game show the level of respect they all have for Jhulan. If there is one person in cricket I would always look forward to as a role model for all the women playing the game, it is undoubtedly Jhulan Goswami. Perry, Smriti, Harman and others are famous because of women's cricket. But Jhulan and Mithali are the ones who made women's cricket popular. Mithali being a batter is immense respect, but people often fail to recognise the contribution of Jhulan Goswami, as the game is unfair for the bowlers. I have immense respect for the tall Jhulan, who took bowling in women's cricket to a different height altogether. This is why I wish the Indian team wins this world cup for her, and her counterpart Mithali. Whether that will happen or not, only time will decide. But as long as cricket continues to be existing, Jhulan Goswami's name will always be written in golden words for what she has done. With all the heart and soul, we congratulate her for achieving the milestone of playing 200 ODI, which she will achieve tomorrow. - The success story of Hotel Jay Malhar
They were five close friends and one thing was common to them, the love of non-vegetarian food which always kept them attached. One day a fantastic idea came to their mind to start a non-vegetarian special hotel and share their love and passion for non-veg food with other people too. They unanimously took a decision and started 'Hotel Jai Malhar' at DP road, Gadital, Hadapsar in 2016. The hotel, which originated from the love of non-vegetarian food of five friends has become a favourite destination for many passionate non-veg eaters today. The 'Biryani Special' is the speciality of this hotel and is getting a huge response from the diners. It has been always said that Marathi people never come together to start an enterprise or a business. To disprove this, the five friends Prateek Wage, Gaurav Shinde, Akshay Phalke, Amol Tate, Vishwajeet Tupe came together. As the passion for eating nonveg food is their common point of interest, they started thinking, What if we started our nonveg hotel? And they started 'Hotel Jay Malhar Restaurant' in Hadapsar at D.P road on... th (...) 2016. Initially, the hotel Jai Malhar had a set up to accommodate up to only 60 people. However, the food taste, service, cleanliness of the hotel attracted the diners in a very short period. As a result, the number of customers of Hotel Jai Malhar eateries increased. Soon the tiny plant planted by the five friends in 2016, grew like a huge banyan tree. Today, the hotel Jay Malhar has a seating capacity of 400 and has employed about 100 workers. Hundreds of nonveg eaters visit every day and test the quality non-veg food served at hotel Jay Malhar. For the hotel industry, two things are most important the test and the service offered to the customer. The taste of the food served at the hotel attracts the customers but the service offered to the customers, the cleanliness and the humility towards customers hold them forever. While running the hotel Jai Malhar Phalke and his friends emphasized serving testy food. Good service, cleanliness, courtesy were maintained along with providing excellent taste. That's why today Hotel Jay Malhar has become a favourite place for many diners. This non-vegetarian speciality hotel Jay Malhar offers a mutton platter, chicken platter. However, the hotel specializes in tandoor, fish and biryani. Numerous eateries are crazy about 'Mutant Dum Biryani' and 'Chicken Dum Biryani' served at Hotel Jay Malhar Restaurant. With the spices made by Phalke and friends, their secret recipe and 'Gavaran Sajuk Ghee', the taste of the biryani served here is amazing. Today Hotel Jay Malhar is famous for its Biryani. The newspaper 'Pune Mirror' took notice of it and gave the 'Best Biryani award' to the Hotel Jay Malhar. Pune is well known for its eaters from the time of Peshwa. Knowing the fact, the five friends decided to take the mouth-watering taste of Hotel Jay Malhar's biryani to as many 'Punekars' as possible. Therefore, shortly they want to dominate the minds of 'Chokhandal Punekars' by starting several branches of Hotel Jai Malhar in the whole of Pune City. These five friends, who were fond of nonveg food, are serving their favourite dishes to the customers. So there is no doubt that it will be always tasty. If you are passionate in any field, you get success in that field. The journey of hotel Jay Malhar started from the love of eating nonveg food of the five friends, has got tremendous response from the nonveg food lovers. The Best Biryani award' of Pune Mirror is the 'crown of honour' for Hotel Jay Malhar. Phalke and friends want to develop a network of the franchisee of hotel Jay Malhar. - Pushkar Sharma's bowling helped Ruaraka win a low scoring thriller
In the last league match of the Npcl T20 league, Ruaraka Sports Club won the match against Ngara Sports Club. Winning the toss, Ngara elected to bowl. Ngara managed to stop Ruaraka's aggression as the latter ended up scoring 125 runs in 20 overs. For Ruaraka Tushar Vaghani scored 24 and Pushkar Sharma made 21, which included 2 fours and 1 six. The low scoring thrillers could be demoralising for teams, but not if you have Pushkar in your team. In reply to Ruaraka's 125, Nikul Patel scored 24 runs from the team of Ngara Sports Club and the team was bundled out for 96 runs. Redeeming his batting, Pushkar bowled beautifully and scalped 3 wickets with an exceptional economy. Pushkar gave only 7 runs in 3 overs and dismissed 3 Ngara batters, and was supported by Yagnik Pindoria who also took 3 wickets and Sachin Gill who took 2 wickets. Pushkar said that cricket is not won by any single player, if a team plays together, they can later beat any team, whether the match is flame scoring or not, he showed his thanks gesture to IndiaFirst Life Insurance, Optex Opticians Ltd and MOJ for there support and sponsorship.
- The best of test: Eden Garden Heroics
Test cricket is the longest and the oldest format of the game. Test cricket tests the truest skills of every player who played the gentleman's game. It is the format that, which allows a side that is on verge of losing to turn the tables at any point and emerge victoriously intently. There have been numerous instances where teams have dramatically victoriously the game on and added to the beauty of this game by winning such thrilling encounters whose results no one predicted initially. Out of many such events, one test match which stands tall amongst these in the 21St century is undoubtedly the Eden Gardens test match which happened in 2001 between India and Australia, with the former winning the match after a follow-on was enforced on them. Follow-on is an advantage for the team which enforced it. And it is certainly predicted that the team which enforces follow-on emerger victorious. It is a challenging task to lead to a draw for the team on which a follow-on has been enforced, and has happened rarely. The phenomenon of a team winning after a follow-on enforced on them is one of the rarest ones one will come across. It had happened only twice, first in 1894 when England won by 10 runs and second in 1981 when yet again the English team won by 18 runs. However the third time world witnessed this rare phenomenon, India emerged victorious with a huge margin of 171 runs, making it special for every cricket lover. On all intently three occasions, the Aussies were at the losing end. The 2001 heroics of India came against a strong Australian team led by Steve Waugh which had won the world cup of 1999. The team was known to break fortresses and create records. And they had the very intentiy to do the same in the Eden Gardens match too. Little did they know they would be at the receiving side of something very special in this match, which will be remembered forever. Steve Waugh's dominant Australia put up a good total of 445 in the first innings. The skipper led the first innings by playing a captain's innings of 110. Hayden missed out on a century by 3 runs. But their contribution had posted a significant total. In reply to this, the Indian team was bundled out for a mere 171 runs. Barring VVS Laxman who scored a decent 59, none of the batters could play their role. Australia in desperation to win the game enforced a follow-on on the Indian team making matters worse for Men in Blue. India now was trailing by 274 runs, and with 10 sessions to go, it looked difficult for them to draw the match. But there was a miracle to witness for the whole world. VVS Laxman, the lone warrior of the first innings who was wrongly given out in the first innings was promoted to number 3. And boy he justified his promotion in some style. He showed his intentions right since he came on to bat. He was in great touch and just needed support from another end. That's where "The Wall" stepped in. The duo started batting in the last few overs of 3Rd day and continued to bat till the first session of the 5th day. They batted the entire 4th day, scored 335 runs in 90 overs and took the Aussie attack to bonkers. The duo stitched a partnership of 376 runs batting for 104 overs together, miraculously turning the tables for India who now we're expecting a victory, contrary to praying for a draw before the start of Day 4. The Aussie attack comprising of McGrath, Gillespie, Warne, Kasprowicz, Mark Waugh was brutally destroyed by the two very very special players. The Aussies desperate to get a wicket handed the bowl even to Ponting, Langer and Hayden in search of one wrong shot from the two batters, which didn't come soon. On the 5th day, Laxman missed out on a well deserved triple century, but he registered the then highest individual score of 281 runs for India, and the time it came for the team was very very special. Rahul Dravid played a sensational knock of 180 runs, playing his role to more than perfection before getting run out. Finally, India declared the innings on a huge total of 657/7, setting a target of 384 for the Aussies to chase in 75 overs. The magic of Indian innings was such, that a test match saw a full packed Eden Gardens. The fans were hoping for an Indian victory. To dismiss mighty Aussies in a span of 75 overs was a challenge, but India accepted it. With the 5th day on, the turn was supposed to assist the Indian spinners and make life difficult for Australian batters. And the same happened. Harbhajan Singh ripped through the Aussie batting lineup dismissing Slater, Langer, Ponting, Waugh, Gillespie and McGrath. In the first innings too, he scalped 7 wickets which included the first-ever test hat-trick for an Indian spinner when he dismissed Ponting, Gilchrist and Warne on consecutive balls. With the figures of 13 wickets in the match, he was the hero with the ball. On the other hand, the God of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, who couldn't do much with the bat, did his trick with his leg-spin. The famous conversation where he asked to give the ball to Sourav Ganguly, and Ganguly allowed him only one over is known by the fans. But Sachin didn't take much time, as he caught dangerous Gilchrist plumb on the very first ball he played. Gilchrist registered the king's pair in the historic match. Furthermore, Sachin dismissed the lone Aussie warrior Hayden with a magic ball. These two breakthroughs enhanced hopes of an Indian victory. Sachin then trapped Warne with his spin, and Harbhajan put the final nail in the Aussie coffin dismissing McGrath sealing the win for India. The Eden crowd erupted as they witnessed history made in front of them. India became the only team after England to win a test match after a follow-on on enforced on them. Out of the only 3 instances of it happening, the Indian victory was the most special one as it came with a huge margin of 171 runs. Australia with a very heavy heart had to accept the defeat. The Aussie ego of the best team was crushed in the match due to the unbelievable performance of Laxman, Dravid and Harbhajan. The match changed the fortunes of Indian cricket as it gave India the courage to fight till the end and go for a victory. It inspired generations of cricketers who would go on to represent the country and make a mark in international cricket. World cricket was blessed to witness the test match. Cricket Gods would be extremely proud of seeing the two best teams playing their heart out with one of them emerging victorious in the most unpredicted manner. Today, 21 years after the incident, recalling the test match gives goosebumps to the strongest of the people. Many victories for many teams came thereafter, but this Eden Gardens miracle would always be the most special for Indian fans. - A clean sweep for Men in Blue
The year didn't start well for Indian cricket fans, the last test victory had come for the Indian team in the boxing day test against the Protea team. Post that India lost the lead, as well as the series against Proteas when they were firm favourites. What made the fans even sadder was the fact that Virat Kohli, the captain who brought the glory to the tests back stepped down from the role. The runners-up in ICC test championship were waiting for one opportunity to get back to their winning habit. And they did it in style against the Srilankan lions. A lot of changes were made in the team before the series. The limited over captain Rohit Sharma was made the captain of the Indian contingent for red-ball cricket. The experienced players like Rahane and Pujara, who are exceptional contributors to India's test side were dropped from the side. For the first time after 98 matches, India was playing without either of the test specialists of India. But despite all this happening, India roared back in style. The series witnessed the two milestone matches for India's two most significant contributors at this moment. The master of centuries and King Kohli accomplished a unique feat of completing his century of Test matches in the first match which happened at Mohali. And the highest individual runscorer in limited over, the very own Hitman played his overall 400th match in the same series. Apart from the brilliant batting which both have displayed, one would see them quash the rift rumours when Rohit Sharma sent Virat back, only to allow give him a well-deserved guard of honour in his 100th match. The series was very important to boost the morale of the Indian team considering the ongoing Test Championship. India lived up to the expectations of being favourites in this series. The most pleasing thing to witness in this series was the performance of the youth. Shreyas Iyer grabbed the opportunity with both arms and made a statement. His innings of 92 in the first innings of the Bengaluru test match was turned the tide in India's favour. One of the greatest thinkers and contributors in recent times Hanuma Vihari yet again showed the team why he is an important member of the squad. Rishabh Pant as usual played with fire, just the way he wants, but his approach has done more good than harm to India in tests. The return of Ravindra Jadeja was something India was waiting for, and when it happened, he made sure he makes his fans happy with his performance. In this series, he made sure he is treated as a specialist batter too. His innings of 175 not out gave a glimpse of it, and also showed his selflessness when he decided to declare the innings. Furthermore, his contribution to the bowl was something India missed during the period he was not playing and enjoyed watching during the series. He accomplished his dream of scoring a century and grabbing a five-wicket haul in the same match. He played his role to perfection. R Ashwin has always played a vital role in the team's success. Also, he did what he is known for, breaking records. In the previous match, he broke the record of grabbing more wickets than legendary Kapil Dev, thereby becoming the second-highest wicket-taker for India. Today he surpassed the wicket tally of Dale Steyn. Jasprit Bumrah showed the world why he is one of the finest bowlers when he grabbed a 5-wicket hall on a Bengaluru pitch which hardly offered anything for the pacers. All in all, India didn't just make a comeback after the Protea series loss but heavily redeemed it to make their case strong for World Test Championship. Although it came in the home conditions, a win is a win, and with it, Rohit Sharma started his test career as a skipper with a clean sweep. Although one would've expected a tough fight from the Srilankan team, the matches were good for Indian fans. The only regret from this series for the fans is not being able to witness the 71st century from the world's best batter. But sooner or later, it will come. - Dr Pratik Mungekar honoured with The Royal Honorary Doctorate
The 6th International Conference of Medicinal Plant and Traditional Herbal Lotion of our country was held on 20 - 21 February 2022. Dr Pratik Rajan Mungekar represented India as a Keynote Speaker and successfully delivered his presentation on THE ROLE OF MEDICINAL PLANTS IN THE HEALTH CARE AND RURAL ECONOMY IN THE TRIBALS OF SATPURA PLATEAU REGION OF CENTRAL INDIA. On 10th Feb 2022 The 6th International conference closing ceremony was happened virtually and in that ceremony, Dr Pratik Rajan Mungekar has been Honoured & conferred upon with the Royal Honorary Doctorate by The Royal University of Human Nutrition and Food Safety Sciences, the Academy of the World of Food Security and Social Peace, the International Intelligence Academy, and the Kingdom of Knowledge for Training and Consultations, Tunisia in the esteemed presence of CEO and President Dr Wassef Youssef Elabed. Let's read the scholarly article by Dr .Pratik Rajan Mungekar THE ROLE OF MEDICINAL PLANTS IN THE HEALTH CARE AND RURAL ECONOMY IN THE TRIBALS OF SATPURA PLATEAU REGION OF CENTRAL INDIA PROF.DR.PRATIK RAJAN MUNGEKAR Madhya Pradesh is a veritable niche of growing healing herbs, which are being used, in the Indian system of medicine like Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani. The plants, shrubs, roots of immense medicinal value are abundantly found in Satpura, Vindhyachal, Amarkantak, Pachmarhi and Patalkot areas. Madhya Pradesh has got 1,35,164 Sq. Km of forests which accounts for 30.48% of the total geographical area of the state. Medicinal and aromatic plants are important products found in forest areas throughout Madhya Pradesh from the plains to the hills. More than 80 per cent of the people in Madhya Pradesh, (India) rely on herbal remedies as a principal means of preventing and curing illnesses and following the traditional system of medicine. There are several advantages to such systems: the plants involved are readily available, are easy to transport, and do not spoil quickly. Remedies based on these plants often have minimal side effects, and the relatively high cost of synthetic medicines often makes traditional herbal medicines an affordable choice for the poor in these lands. India’s traditional medical systems are part of a time-honoured and time-tested culture that still intrigues people today. A culture that has successfully used nature to treat primary and complex ailments for over 3,000 years has contemporary relevance. Satpura plateau is a remarkable place, not only because of the more tribal population and dense forest but also has a lot of rare and useful natural resources including some rare species of medicinal plants, which are used for curing different kinds of diseases. Tribals and forests are symbiotically related. The tribal communities in the Satpura plateau occupy forested regions. They have lived in isolation but harmony with nature. They draw their sustenance largely from the forests. Even in areas where forests do not exist, they visit distant forests periodically and try to get their traditional requirement. They have a very close linkage with the forest, which they regard as their mother deity. A perusal of literature revealed that some work has been done on ethnomedicinal plants of Madhya Pradesh (Rai and Pandey, 1997; Pandey, 2000; Rai et al. 2000). The present study aims to identify and prepare an inventory of various medicinal plant species used by the tribals of the Satpura plateau of central India to cure their various ailments. During the Study number of extensive and periodical surveys were conducted during 1999-2001 among the Gond, Bharia and Koru tribes, inhabiting the forest areas of Chhindwara, Senoi, Betul and Hosangabad districts of Madhya Pradesh. Information about ethnomedicinal uses of the plants was collected from the tribal physicians (vaidyas), tribal head man (Mukhia), aged tribals, and further confirmed with herbalists. The plants are enumerated alphabetically along with their botanical names, vernacular names, major uses, dosage and mode of administration for treating diseases. Discussion and conclusion Based on the present study, it has been found that the tribal community of central India is rich in ethnobiological knowledge, which has been transmitted from one generation to another. The present study also revealed that the tribal communities living in the same region have their traditional ethnobotanical knowledge. The methods used for curing diseases are different from one community to another. This is because of their socio-economic structure, ancient traditional knowledge and beliefs. Their livelihood is dependent on their ecological surroundings and they use simple technology to sustain their life, which seems conservative. The present study emphasized that there is a profound and growing knowledge gap between old and younger generations. People of more than 50-65 years of age know a lot about wild plant products as compared to the younger generation (Pandey and Bisaria, 1997). Earlier the tribals of the region were harvesting the medicinal plants at a particular time and date and time only and have a belief that at this particular time it has more therapeutic value. It is evident from modern science that at a particular time the herb contains optimum active ingredients. These types of traditional harvesting practices will help provide quality raw material on a sustainable basis and tools for conservation. The efforts are being made to document such non-destructive traditional harvesting practices for conservation as well as regulated and sustainable harvest. Considering conservation priorities, medicinal plant species yielding bark, root, gum, rhizome, flowers and whole plant as useful products glamourn the manufacture of herbal drugs are more important. The destructive extraction of these resources disturb the habitat of the species e.g., Terminalia arjuna, Sterculia urens, Boswellia serrata, Gloriosa superba, Costus speciosus, Curcuma amada, Curcuma caesia, Curcuma angustifolia, Dioscoria sp. and Rauvolfia serpentina. The medicinal plants provide numerous opportunities for the state to advance rural well being. Because medicinal plants are one of the few natural products that sell at premium prices. Thus, the global clamor for more herbal ingredients creates possibilities for the commercial cultivation of medicinal crops. Such endeavours could help raise rural employment in developing countries, boost commerce around the world, and perhaps contribute to the health of millions. The tribals of the region are still collecting, gums, leaves, bark, flowers, and fruits of various medicinal plants to supplement their income. Medicinal plants and their various products can be viewed as important commodity items for the sustainable economic development of the region. There is also a need for organized marketing and trade of medicinal plants and their various products so that the collector should get a remunerative price for his collection. It is suggested that initiative should be taken at the government level for deciding minimum support price for medicinal plants like crops to avoid the involvement of middlemen. The information as an outcome of the study will serve as a useful tool to botanists, pharmacologists, phytochemists, a practitioner of herbal medicine, foresters, planners and administrators in the preparation of action and development plans for the conservation as well as herbal drug industry in the tribal tracts for providing self-employment opportunities and improving and uplifting the life, economy and social status of the tribal and rural populations. - Journey of Entrepreneurship & its challenges in a Diversified Indian market. By Vinutha Nagaraju
Team Eduthon writing this to express our sincere gratitude to our readers for making the Aprajita Awards season 1 possible. We were thrilled and deeply appreciative of your support. We received valuable thoughts from Vinutha Nagaraju who grabbed her first-ever award in the Entrepreneurship category Let's read what she said. How are you feeling about winning your first-ever entrepreneurship Award? I would like to share a word of thanks to the "Aparajita Awards 2022" jury for recognizing me as the young entrepreneur of the year. It gives me immense pleasure & confidence as I receive this award. It’s a boost & surge of immense confidence for me as getting this award gives me self-belief & also a motivating factor to push a little harder on my path to creating a plainer sailing system in the society of farmers and agricultural system. What is your opinion about Gender Equality and Diversity as a woman entrepreneur? So, in a society where the responsibilities of the genders are not quite the same. Coming into entrepreneurship and making your way into a competitive world was the thing which has changed me upside down. It’s been 2 yrs. since I have started my firm after giving my 8 yrs. into a corporate world working in cross-functional departments. As I am a woman who likes being independent & harnessing my freedom coming into business was more of a dream rather than just following the crowd. It was more with an intent of contributing to the cause rather than looking for a financial outlook and so far, this has been a very good journey with challenges & learnings. When it comes to a job all you have to do is crack the interview & get into the organization you have been handed over some KPI and you need to perform accordingly every job has challenges but the point is when it comes to applying or creating something, the job doesn’t provide that freedom & exposure in many cases & as we are more wind up in our daily work activities, we aren’t able to think & act on the causes or on the things which we feel are more important when we observe the society. As they say “Every great firm or company is started & succeed on the base of the strong cause or a want to contribute in society to make life easy” The same was the case with me I wanted to help & provide something to society it was one of my key driving factors helping me continue my work in ups & downs which even I had a fair share of…but it helped me grow as a person & made my character it’s an experience I would value much higher as compared to the exposure & experience I got in the corporate world. After entering into business, the main thing was looking to meet people understand the needs & requirements creating the things by keeping in mind a customer-centric approach. Then meeting other professional executives makes them understand the product & need of it in lives of people hoping that people will invest in the idea. Working continuously meeting the customers & ground level people understanding needs & finding a way through it to meet those needs were the most challenging areas but I made my way through it through sheer determination to contribute to a cause. As a female, it was quite a challenging part as we are working into a male dominating society even though many males, I met were quite supportive & understanding of me still I would like to say there’s always some grey side to it. There will be people like this but we must ignore them & be faithful to ourselves & our abilities no one can stop us if we are sincere in our work & have a strong belief in ourselves. I would say we must be focused on our goal and just keep working on ourselves & our cause of helping. Don’t let anyone disrespect you always have the attitude of a lioness. Never get affected by people or situations both are powerless without your reaction. With that thought even with my brand new startup, I wish to hire a women workforce who shall be working in my new venture as I believe that it is not just making oneself empowered but also empowering other women by giving employment to them and making them as well the breadwinners of their families. I want to keep a solid value system that shall translate into my work and my company. I completely believe in a not giving up attitude wherein with my best and sincere intentions want to build this venture with sheer determination and hard work and also give something back to society as well. We must always strive our way through this & the key factor in this is always having a sense of self-belief in ourselves because then only we can take challenges & come out through them. The thing I have learned is always meet people learn things understand perspectives &be committed to your dream because it's your dream & you need to water it to make it grow & shine. I also realize that with these challenges I happen to discover my inner strength and capabilities and each time it is pushing me out of my comfort zone and motivating me to be and become even a better and stronger version of myself and understanding the deeper purposes of my life. We feel like a woman we are alone & what will do in such competitive world but I would say don’t listen to that voice it’s a just a voice trying to tell you that you are not good enough. Always try to be positive in your thoughts as they say “It always starts with you”, I would also like to mention that there were my support systems in form of my family & my cheerful friends who have given me that stability in terms of emotions& there motivating affirmations. It's too soon to be philosophical as in business it's better to be practical & in tune with reality as it’s a constantly evolving world & we need to keep up with it. Find your support systems as we need them when we are down or when we aren’t that kind to ourselves. But always keep in mind to be your own biggest supporter. I would like to convey my message to all the females who are trying to make something of themselves & contribute to the world. It’s never too late &it’s never impossible always have that self-belief in your dream your abilities it's always us who are responsible for our success it’s the will power that counts & the main driver in the journey of a business because if you don’t firmly believe in your idea or product no one else will so first have that self-belief on your abilities& your idea or product. Leadership is a thing which you learn it isn’t gendered biased. We as females have this great ability to understand the pain behind the problems & focus on the work and strive forward with a commitment to make a difference add value wherever possible. So, keeping our gender aside & its biases we must try to be the best of ourselves & believe in ourselves. It’s an age of diversifying technology & opportunity for everyone out there. Thanks once again for recognizing my efforts & honouring me with this Award signing off Vinutha Nagaraju. - A strong comeback, and a massive victory for Women in Blue
Women in Blue topped the table for World Cup by winning the encounter against West Indies with a massive margin of 155 runs. They outplayed the Caribbean team in all three departments of the game. What makes the victory even more special is the fact that it came against a strong contender coming back after suffering a loss from the hosts New Zealand. With this victory, Indian women created flurry or records along with gaining back the confidence to do well in the tournament ahead. Winning the toss, Skipper Mithali (who now has captained most matches in a world cup) chose to bat. The decision was proved right by the two southpaws Yastika and Smriti. Initially, when Smriti was playing cautiously against the short balls bowled by Caribbean spearheads, Yastika showed courage to pull them for a boundary. Yastika ensured India are off to a quick start by hitting at a strike rate of 150, thereby compensating her previous match innings. Before getting dismissed, she made sure India had the right momentum with them. Skipper promoted herself to one down, with Deepthi playing at no 4. When not of them were dismissed, the two most flamboyant batters of India, Smriti and Harmanpreet Kaur showed why they are the pillars of the Indian side. Both of them backed their strengths, with Smriti driving elegantly for boundaries, and Harman showing her strength to clear the ropes in style. The duo stitched the highest 4th wicket partnership in world cup history. With it both of them completer their centuries in style. Smriti repeated her performance in the 2017 world cup match against West Indies (the innings which made her household name) and Harman scored her 4th hundred, 3 of which have come in World cups. Both accompanied each other very well. When one batter hit boundaries, the other simply rotated the strike and kept the scorecard moving. The form of best batters was something India was craving for, and living up to the expectations of people and coach Ramesh Powar, the best Indian batter stepped up when India needed them the most. The collective efforts of the duo helped India reach its 300 run mark for the first time in the world cup. It also ensured the highest total for the current world cup. Now it was the turn of Caribbean batters. And Deandra Dottin proved why she is called as World boss. With her partner Matthews, the duo launched an attack on Indian bowlers. Dottin reached to a quickfire fifty. In the first 12 overs, the scorecard had reached 100. Then came the star of India, Sneh Rana, who dismissed Dottin with her clever bowling right in her first over. Meghna did the trick to dismiss the two new batters and Rana yet again dismissed the set Matthews, bringing the scorecard to 114/4. The West Indian attack couldn't quite recover from the damage Rana and Meghana had done to their team. None of the batters contributed thereafter. Indian bowlers did a great job. Jhulan scalped her 40th wicket in World cup history. Rajeshwari's turn was a sight every Indian loved to watch. Deepthi's rocket arm direct hit from fine leg to non-striker's end caught West Indian batter off the crease. With everything happening, it was only a matter of time before India won the match, which they eventually did by winning it with a huge margin of 155 runs. Apart from the victory, a flurry of records was created by the Indian team. Mithali Raj became the player to captain the most number of matches in the Women's world cup surpassing Belinda Clark. Jhulan, scalping her 40th wicket, became the bowler to take the most number of wickets in world cup history. Miljhul duo created a record considering world cup history, whereas others did it for this world cup. Harman became the leading run-scorer, and Smriti the second-highest run-scorer in this world cup. And Rajeshwari became the highest wicket-taker in the tournament till now. These stats just tell us the impact the Indian team has had till now in the tournament. Indian won the match, and yet again Smriti won hearts with her beautiful gesture of sharing the Player of the Match award with Harmanpreet saying " since we both hit centuries, we both should be player of the match and not just me ". The rapport between the best batters was loved by the cricket fans. With the win, India has gained the confidence they needed to go ahead in the tournament. The round-robin format is going to allow them to face all the teams. India would love to continue their run in the tournament with consistent wins and contributions from every player. And the fans back in India would love to see the same happening. Authored By:- Ashwin Jangam ( Cricket Analyst, Host and Entertainer) Instagram ID: https://www.instagram.com/cricket_creativity/
- Dr.Pratik Rajan Mungekar has been invited as a Chief Guest for the annual function “JHALAK”
Delighted to share that Dr.Pratik Rajan Mungekar has been invited as a Chief Guest for the annual function “JHALAK” Journey of the year which was happened today organised by ScholarsTree Preschool A Wing of ScholarsTree Educare Private Limited is an ISO Certified Education Institution ScholarsTree's philosophies align with the thoughts of various eminent educationists & psychologist for helping, providing an appropriate environment, cultural, moral values, love and knowledge to children. Their curriculum is research-based, learner centred with new age life skills and a perfect amalgamation of conventional practices and modern learning methods. They have adopted best practices by focusing on continuous evaluation, assessment and improvement in their pedagogy. He inaugurated the annual day function & gave his words of wisdom and best wishes to all the Children, Parents, Teachers and staff. Here is the Transcript of his Speech. It gives me immense pleasure to be here this evening and to address the young students of the ScholarsTree Preschool A Wing of ScholarsTree Educare on the occasion of its Annual Day function of the school. ScholarsTree Preschool A Wing of ScholarsTree Educare has been established by Saravjeet Kirad very thoughtfully for an overall growth of a child and to integrate his academic excellence with his personality development. Education is not just the amount of information that is put into a child’s brain undigested, unrelated an unassimilated. The very essence of education is the concentration of mind and not mere collection or collation of facts. As Swami Vivekananda said: “Education is the manifestation of the perfection already in man”. The concept of education is that it should help the formation of character expansion of intellect and development of a positive view of the life. It is this man-making character which is the basic object of all education. A school should be a mirror of the child’s personality wherein education should constitute the inner beauty. I understand strives to identify and nurture innate talents and abilities. Experimentation and creativity through interactive and scientifically developed activities, traditional values with modern knowledge and information, all-round development of the students without any discrimination or prejudices are the basic objectives of quality education. I am assured that these ideas form the core contents in educational pattern of the school which prepares the young generation to become leaders in whatever career they choose and to contribute positively towards self, family, society, nation and the entire world. I am pleased to know that ScholarsTree Educare understands the need for effective communication and therefore offers intensive coaching in both oral and written communication skills. This helps in expressing ideas clearly and effectively. Other activities like group discussions, elocution, seminars etc. , are conducted for the personality development of students. Innovative workshops, projects and guest lectures by eminent personalities are organized for the benefit of students. Finally works of art help one to relate with the world. The expressions denote the experience and the individuals outlook towards society. ScholarsTree Educare lets students kindle the fire of creativity in them who are motivated to participate and display their talents in interschool and at various other competitions. Hobby clubs at this school provide for students to express and hone their skills and talent in a range of activities like painting, arts, music and dance, debate elocution stamp collection and so on. Students need some time to relax and rejuvenate. This helps in learning better and also keeps the mind and body healthy. This is done through sports and games. They help in keeping the body fit and provide mental relaxation. It is also very heartening to be informed that field trips are an integral part of education at ScholarsTree Educare. Students are taken to places of historical importance, scientific interest, farms and fields to give them first-hand idea on various occupations. This enables students to see for themselves the productive processes of goods of our daily use. These trips are preceded by assigning them projects on the proposed place of visit, its significance and are followed by summarizing their individual experiences. This should provide a strong vocational bias to our educational system which is the need of the day. A school based on the model has to ensure that entire education should take place in natural surroundings in tandem with nature where a child should learn to identity plants, flowers and birds in the open air. This would be particularly attractive to a child who while leaving the threshold of home and going to school for the first time needs a lot of inducement and persuasion for study. Nature, as Gandhiji used to observe frequently, has enough to fulfill man’s needs but not his greeds. This should be firmly implanted in a child’s mind so that he may constantly be aware that man has a special responsibility to protect Nature. Students should be made aware of their responsibility and duty towards protecting nature and prevent its wanton destruction which unfortunately seems to be order of the day. Some simple practices like encouraging planting of trees periodically in their neighbourhood, watering the plants and nurturing them, digging pits for rain water harvesting should be taught. These and other would foster in a child caring and sharing attitude towards nature and life on earth and a deep appearance of the flora and fauna. To make education more attractive, the students of lower classes should be imparted education through play-way methods. They should be taught to identify various colours, sounds, shapes and objects. Exercises like clay-modeling, building sand castles, the playpen and other interactive methods should be adopted to make learning more interesting and attractive. In this context I would like to bring to your notice that this is how Tagore conceptualized and broughts up his famous Santiniketan (Abode of Peace) where the entire educational system was integrated from pre-nursery to the stage of Masters’ Degree and where the teaching was imparted in open air classrooms in natural surroundings. Poet himself used to take some nursery and pre-nursery classes and imparted education through music dance and drama composed by him. In some cases Tagore used to take part in the dramas and plays along with other children; at times he also used to personally supervise the works of painting and craft made by the children and put in a few words of encouragement for them. This instilled life in teaching as well as learning and served as a big booster for uplifting the spirit of the children. Indeed Tagore made education joyful and playful for all children. Under Tagore’s watchful supervision, a friendly atmosphere was created for students to interact with their teachers and share a relation of mutual trust and affection. This led to a congenial environment conducive for teaching and learning. Coaching was provided through interactive teaching methods. The curiosity of the students was not suppressed but encouraged and students had the freedom to express their opinions and to seek their own answers subject of course to the correction by teachers wherever necessary. No wonder, this unconventional methodology gained quick recognition and due to Poet’s untiring efforts and zeal, Shantiniketan won international reputation and ere long it became the hub of foreign scholars interested in various facets of our heritage and culture. One of the basic drawbacks of to-day’s schooling is that tens of thousands of school-going children in India are penalized by an educational system that has largely failed to take into account their special learning needs. It is time we better understood the profile of students with learning difficulties. Sustained application of sound scientific knowledge in the classroom can make a difference. Such application can occur only if our schools had more teachers anchored in the knowledge of neurological functions that impact learning. Teachers can then assess their students' strengths and weaknesses in order to modify their instruction, so that all students benefit. Failure in school often portends low self-esteem as adults, and most certainly contributes to poor productivity in professional life. With its escalating needs for economic development, India cannot afford a future citizenry that hasn't been given the scholastic consideration and opportunities it deserves in childhood. The reluctance of school administrators to train teachers in these areas is puzzling. What is worse is that students' failure permeates into the home. School authorities and teachers are seldom able to reassure distraught parents. Educators and psychologists occasionally offer diagnoses of dyslexia, or other learning disability, but seldom is a learning plan offered to the child or the parent that meets that child's specific requirements. This is because teachers often do not know how a child learns, and are over focused on what a child learns. Given the pressure on children to be all-rounded, it is perhaps a matter of time before most students experience a breakdown in learning. To be successful in school, students need to be good at many things at the same time regardless of their strengths or weaknesses. This leads to frustration, humiliation, and failure among many of them. An undue pressure on the child can adversely affect his capacity to learn, as well as his ability to take pleasure in academic work. We must not forget that education must and should be joyous, not onerous. I have earlier referred to the successful growth of Tagore’s Santiniketan as focal point of imparting true and meaningful education without tears. But the study of science and technology was not sufficiently emphasized in their educational curriculum. This was not because of any inherent defect or deliberate lapse in their educational planning but because when Santiniketan was set up more than a century back (precisely on 22-12-1901) the study of Science and technology was not assigned the overriding importance in our educational curriculum. The position has undergone a sea-change since then in view of the phenomenal and exponential advancement in science and technology. We have to remember that all training and teachings should be basically centred round science and technology. The 21st Century is universally acknowledged as the “Knowledge Century” which means that Knowledge or brainpower through an extensive study and application of science and technology should be reflected in a country’s competitiveness, advancement and human capabilities Human capabilities today are a function of the well-being of a people and the investment we make in human capital formation. The ability of a nation to make the best use of its knowledge or brainpower will ultimately determine its place in the comity of nations in the present century. In this context, lifelong learning is a high priority for all and is in fact fundamental to the development of a nation. It builds the base for economic and social development and fosters the capacity of individuals to contribute to and benefit from, that development. It also sustains and enriches both the individual and overall culture of a nation and builds mutual respect and understanding that ultimately transcends all national differences and barriers. ScholarsTree Educare has to keep in view this development if it really wants to come up as a focal point of professional excellence. And yet, I must, caution that professional excellence without accompanying human virtues may many prove disastrous. As the adage goes that knowledge without character and science without humanity portend dangerous signals for a valued-based democratic society. We must therefore ensure that the development of a knowledge society encouraging professional excellence does not directly or indirectly discards the basics of human excellence . In the beautiful and inimitable words of our philosopher-statesman Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, (I quote) Knowledge is not something to be packed away in some corner of our brain, but is what enters into our being, colour our emotion, haunts our soul, and is as close to us as life itself. It is the overmastering power that through the intellect moulds the whole personality, trains the emotions and disciplines the will. Unquote I am sure that ScholarsTree Educare would go a long way in boosting the tempo of development and help our country to reach soaring heights of perfection which would enable it to become a powerhouse of intellectual endeavour and knowledge engine of the world without in any compromising the qualities human virtues of kindness compassion, sympathy and fellow-feeling. With these words, I have great pleasure in inaugurating the Annual Day Function of the ScholarsTree Educare. Jai Hind Jai Maharashtra..
