Pune Woman To Travel The World On Bike Wearing Saree, Showcase Indian Culture

Pune’s reputation has spread far and wide, and to add another feather to its cap, social entrepreneur Ramila Latpate (27), from Chinchwad, will set off on a motorcycle on March 9th wearing a traditional Marathi saree, to travel the world and visit Jagannath Puri in India.


She plans to travel approximately 100,000 kilometres through 20 to 30 countries, and after completing her journey, she will return to India on March 8th, 2024, after a year of travelling.





Latpate told that she intends to promote various aspects of Maharashtra’s culture by showcasing the state’s unique products. She wishes to preserve and promote Indian culture in every country she visits, in addition to travelling.


Latpate will start her journey from the Gateway of India in Mumbai at 4:30 pm on March 9th, 2023. At this time, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Shantanu Nayudu, Prasad Nagarkar, MP Shrirang Barane, MLAs Mahesh Landge, Ashwini Jagtap, and Suresh Bhoir are expected to be present for the flag-off.

Her journey also coincides with International Women’s Day, which she plans to celebrate in every country she visits.
