Overview


The trek of Bhrigu Lake begins from Manali, Himachal Pradesh and the base camp of the trek is Gulaba village, you will have to pass through Rola Kholi to reach Bhrigu Lake. You can also enjoy hot springs on the way of your trip by including Vasisth in your route. 





Gulaba village is 22km away from Manali. You will have to trek for about 4-5 hours to the campsite of Rola Kholi via Kolang Nallah. It is a 6km long trek and you will have to stay in tents at this camping site, don't forget to spot Hanuman Tibba peak there. 


The Bhrigu Lake Trek is at an altitude of approximately 14,100 ft. This trek from Rola Kholi to Bhrigu Lake and then back to Rola Kholi last for 10 km. the trail looks beautiful because the ground is often covered with snow. When you reach Bhrigu Lake you can easily have a view of Deo Tibba, Hanuman Tibba, and Indrasen. 


You will need to start the trek back to the campsite after viewing the beautiful scenery. Trek down towards the Pandu Ropa and there you will pass through the village Vasisth where you can enjoy hot springs and visit a temple that is 4000 years- old. Stay overnight at the campsite in Rola Kholi.


You will have to trek to Gulaba from Rola Kohli which lasts for 6km and then you will have to drive b ack home. This trek can be covered in 3 days. If you are planning the trek in summer you will witness the beautiful view of lush green grasslands and if you decide to plan the trek in winter you’ll come across the snow-covered wonderland. The temperature in summer ranges between 10 - 20 degrees Celsius which drops down to -7 degrees Celsius in winter. 



The difficulty level of this trek is moderate which makes it extremely thrilling to navigate and the beautiful snow-capped mountain ranges make the entire trekking experience up to the lake worth all your efforts.



Best time for Bhrigu Lake trek


The best time to plan this trek is in the summer from the month of May-June and September-October. The weather is pleasant in these months and the trails are clear of snow which makes it the best time for the Bhrigu Lake trek. The temperature ranges between 10-20 degrees Celsius making this season comfortable and enjoyable for trekkers. Along with the pleasant weather in the summers, you will be able to witness the beauty of lush green meadows and flowers blooming which is perfect for clicking some good pictures. The snow starts to melt during summer which makes the trails free from the snow. 


It is advised to avoid trekking in monsoon, from July to August. You may find yourself stuck in the rain and the slippery trails make it dangerous for trekking. If you do plan a trek in the monsoon make sure you are carrying all the safety measures. The post-monsoon season from September to October is another best time for the Bhrigu Lake trek. At this time you can experience the beauty of green meadows along with the snow which makes a beautiful scenery together. The temperature at this time ranges between 5-15 degrees Celsius. 


How to reach Manali


By air: you can take a flight from the nearest airport to Manali which is the Bhutnar, the nearest airport to Manali at just a 50km distance. You can find regular flights from major cities like Delhi and Chandigarh. You will easily get cabs or taxis at the airport to reach Manali which is just a 2 hours drive away.


By train: Manali does not have a railway station of its own so you can take a train from the nearest railway station from Manali which is Pathankot and Joginder Nagar railway station. From there you can get a cab or taxi to reach Manali which is a 4-5 hours drive away from the railway station.


By road: Manali is well connected by road from major cities like Delhi, Chandigarh, and Ambala. Bus services are also available easily.
