In line with this year’s theme – Education to protect tomorrow’, we took this initiative to host an awareness-focused mega diabetes camp to educate people and help curb this parallel cancer spreading in our society. Overall, the camp was a successful drive that conveyed the message of winning over Diabetes by making proactive changes in life and seeking consultation at the right time.

  • Featured Children's - Reyaansh Shah

Team Stay Featured recently interacted with Vishal Vinaykumar Shah CA , Finance Director in Clarke - energy kothrud Pune and Dr. Prachi Vishal Shah MD(HOM) about their son, Reyaansh Shah , let's read their thoughts about Reyaansh Reyaansh is 8.5 years old science enthusiast and he is all ears to learn new skills every day. He is known as junior scientist in his school. Reyaansh is always been super energetic kid, always want to do something so being doctor and his Mother, I have to channelize his high energy in something constructive and fruitful. We have started his YouTube channel named Talentomato in December 2019 where he performed many science experiments. He got engaged and he loves to perform in his channel. In 2020, lockdown was implemented and everything got stuck. There was no way that high energy child like him would sit at home without doing anything. And here his journey began, he started reading more books, he started learning map (India as well as World Map). One day he asked his dad, “I want to do something new” and his father gave him Periodic table just for fun with an intend to familiarize him with picture of periodic table. To our surprise, he not only understood periodic table at young age of 6 but he learnt all elements by heart. He learnt periodic table song of 118 elements. He made his own notes and mnemonics for the same. That day we understood his capacity and we both started taking efforts to make him learn complicated subjects like chemistry, human anatomy, and geography through crafts, DIY projects and games. He responded so well and whole lockdown went so smoothly. We all (including Reyaansh) came up with different fun ways to learn new things. 1] We made Periodic table flash cards with cardboard. 2] We played Periodic table treasure hunt in which Reyaansh is supposed to find out elements in daily household things like Iron in iron syrup, Calcium in calcium tablets, Graphite in pencil, Magnesium in spinach leaves, and Cadmium in colors etc. 3] We played periodic antakshari in which he is supposed to make meaningful word with elements like table OK – oxygen and potassium NO – nitrogen and oxygen CUTE – Copper and Tellurium CONE – Cobalt and Neon 4] Periodic table in song form. 5] We made working model of volcano with household elements like vinegar, soda and detergent powder. Before performing the experiment he not only read but actually understood concept of lava, volcano, tectonic plates and many more things. 6] We made Human anatomy models with craft like brain model, Bones of hand, Digestive system Teeth model 7] We played Treasure hunts on Map. His father asked him to find out lesser known countries like Djibouti, Tuvalu and asked him importance of the same and to our surprise he presented the topic in front of us. Same with Indian map where he made us understand what is chicken’s neck and many more things. 8] He performed dissection of Hibiscus flower and learnt part of flower and concept of complete and incomplete flower at age of 6. When we were performing such activities at home out of his interest we weren’t knew he is learning lot more for his age. In year 2022, when Offline School started and he had free period in his class one senior student from 10th standard came to their class to make them understand the parts of flowers and Reyaansh explained it so well that teacher gave us feedback that Reyaansh is genius in science. Studying so many subjects in whole lock down made him mini encyclopedia. He loves to play country names game with elders and we saw him winning in this game in very easily. All his videos are already posted in his YouTube channel. Few of his videos on YouTube channel are having more than 3k views. Along with extra activities he also performed excellently in academics and won Gold medal in National Science Olympiad from Pune city. He won runner up title in All India Geo Genius project competition in topic “Real world testing of biodegradability”. Along with this, he is learning skills of swimming, skating and piano playing, public speaking. Many friends misunderstood that our efforts are pressuring Reyaansh for studies, for YouTube channel videos. But the fact is, when we as parent understood our child’s strength and weakness, we tried our best to bank on his strength and improve his skills and overcome his weaknesses. We as a parent believed that every child is different and we need to make things available as per their choice. Off course we can’t ask kid to dance and paint if he doesn’t like those activities. Every child is gifted. They just unwrap their packages at different times. Every child is different and parents need to respect their emotions and liking too. It was great journey to see Reyaansh growing and flourishing. Only thing we follow is “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember; involve me and I learn” We as parent are always there with him but his grandparents, uncle aunty both maternal and paternal side supported him a lot. They all always motivated and appreciated him for every task or activities he performed. His teachers from Podar International School Aambegoan supported him lot. Teachers always encourage him to speak on topics he knew. Podar School motivated him by show casing his project on display board and posting his project on school’s Facebook page. Anagha Ma’am, Devika Ma’am, Aboli teacher, Naziya teacher, Yugandhara teacher, Swatee teacher, Sayali teacher, Supriya teacher, Pranita teacher and Pallavi teacher played really important role in his progress. We are happy that teachers not only from his present class but also from earlier classes appreciated him for his efforts which motivated him lot. It is not about smart children, it is about happy children who have the confidence and courage to learn and pursue things dear to their heart Reyaansh’s YouTube channel Talentomato - https://www.youtube.com/c/Talentomato Periodic table games and song – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyII1NKvZcM&list=PLmbyOUwQ8qXTtuffgxz6Ke6fghIJod-XY Country names game - https://www.youtube.com/watch? About General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC Re) GIC Re has steadfastly maintained its leadership position in the Indian reinsurance market. It is the largest reinsurer in the domestic reinsurance market in India and leads most of the domestic companies' treaty programmes and facultative placements. While foreign reinsurers have opened branch operations in India since early 2017, GIC Re is expected to maintain its market leadership and market share. GIC Re has been identified as Domestic Systemically Important Insurers (D-SIIs) for 2020-21 by insurance regulator IRDAI. Internationally, GIC Re is an effective reinsurance partner for the Afro-Asian region, leading the reinsurance programmes of several insurance companies in Middle East and North Africa, and Asia including SAARC countries. GIC Re is 13th largest global reinsurer group based on gross written premium figures for 2020-21. It has branch offices in London and Kuala Lumpur . In April 2018, syndicate fully capitalised by GIC Re became operational at Lloyd's of London. This syndicate is expected to scale up over the next few years towards achieving the medium-term management objective of achieving 60:40 (domestic: international) risk portfolio composition. Additionally, GIC Re has 100% subsidiary in South Africa and Russia and also associate companies in Bhutan, Singapore and India. GIC Re is transacting business across the world in 160 countries. The global economic growth is a key driver for insurance markets, which feeds into reinsurance sector. The pandemic has created significant uncertainties in regard to the growth trajectory. GIC Re being committed to the capacity for the domestic need as well as of the subcontinent, it has proved to be a reliable Global reinsurer over many decades. Pandemic lockdown followed by global economic slowdown in 2020 has impacted performance of major global reinsurance players. Despite of such setbacks GIC Re has recouped fairly with balance sheet strength as strong, adequate operating performance, and favorable business profile as assessed by A M Best. Over the years GIC Re has catered domestic support through managing Pools and proved a formidable partner for all the social financial schemes of Government of India. GIC Re `s business model enables to benefit from the expected growth of both the primary insurance and reinsurance markets in India as well as other large and fast-growing markets like SAARC, South East Asia, Latin America, Africa and China. GIC Re believes in diversified reinsurance products which effects better exposure management by limiting and mitigating risks. 2020 saw significant impact of the global pandemic along with rising loss from secondary perils. Also, there was a trailing impact on the market from record level of global catastrophes in 2017 and 2018. Broadly, the return on equity earned by the reinsurance sector globally for last 4 years has not been meeting investor expectations. Alternative capital continues to be deployed in the market and is finetuning its approach to the sector. The reinsurance market has shown significant signs of hardening during last few months and the trend can be expected to continue during next 5 half years. However, earlier expectations of significant hardening are being influenced by the inflow of new capital in recent months. Changing perception on climate change is likely to contribute to the uprice hardening trends in the sector. In Indian context, as the insurers get listed and market consolidates in the backdrop of declining interest rates, the pricing discipline in the market can be expected to strengthen in the medium to long term. As can be seen from the financials, GIC Re `s profits are coming from investment income and thus, in view of emerging low interest rate regime in Indian economy, its journey will focus on moving away from reliance on the investment income. GIC Re maintains a diversified risk portfolio that includes property, health, motor, agriculture, marine, engineering, aviation, liability. The general insurance business in India has penetration level at under 1% thus indicating great potential. Its dominance of the Indian market stems from a long-term and strong relationship with the Indian risk carriers. This is supported by continued obligatory cessions and order of preference. Its strength lies in its geographical and business diversification, long term relationships, prudent risk selection, effective exposure management, ample liquidity and efficient claims management. Its investment portfolio is also well diversified, with effective asset-liability management. Quite importantly for business that runs on human talent, GIC Re has the right talent pool with a low attrition rate. GIC benchmarks its performance against the best-in-class global players. With the competitive advantage that it enjoys and with a domestic market growth momentum, on the strength of its balance sheet size and customer servicing, it can be expected to further strengthen its position globally. • AI vs Human : Dr. Bikash Sharma

When will AI exceed Human Performance? “When looms weave by themselves, man’s slavery will end.” —Aristotle, 4th century BC Imagine the vision he had at that point in time Researchers believe there is a 50% chance of AI outperforming humans in all tasks in 45 years and of automating all human jobs in 120 years, with Asian respondents expecting these dates much sooner than Americans. What is AI actually? Artificial intelligence (AI) is the ability of a computer or a robot controlled by a computer to do tasks that are usually done by humans because they require human intelligence and discernment. Types of Artificial Intelligence: Weak AI or Narrow AI: Narrow AI is a type of AI which is able to perform a dedicated task with intelligence. General AI: General AI is a type of intelligence that could perform any intellectual task with efficiency like a human. Super AI: - Super AI is AI that surpasses human intelligence and ability. It's also known as Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI) or Super Intelligence. It's the best at everything — maths, science, medicine, hobbies, you name it. Even the brightest human minds cannot come close to the abilities of super AI. Artificial intelligence is changing the world and doing it at breakneck speed. The promise is that intelligent machines will be able to do every task better and more cheaply than humans. Rightly or wrongly, one industry after another is falling under its spell, even though few have benefited significantly so far. And that raises an interesting question: when will artificial intelligence exceed human performance? More specifically, when will a machine do our job and going to replace us? Stanford is hosting an event named “Intelligence Augmentation: AI Empowering People to Solve Global Challenges.” The notion that, at its best, AI will augment rather than replace humans has become an influential narrative in the field of artificial intelligence today. Unfortunately, it is also deeply misguided. If we are to effectively prepare ourselves for the impact that AI will have on society in the coming years, it is important for us to be more clear-eyed on this issue. It is not hard to understand why people are receptive to a vision of the future in which AI’s primary impact is to augment human activity. At an elemental level, this vision leaves us, humans, in control, unchallenged at the top of the cognitive food chain. It requires no deep, uncomfortable reconceptualizations from us about our place in the world. AI is, according to this line of thinking, just one more tool we have cleverly created to make our lives easier, like the wheel or the internal combustion engine. Today, we have an answer of sorts thanks to the work of Katja Grace at the Future of Humanity Institute at the University of Oxford and a few pals. To find out, these guys asked the experts. They surveyed the world’s leading researchers in artificial intelligence by asking them when they think intelligent machines will better humans in a wide range of tasks. And many of the answers are something of a surprise. Grace and co asked them all—1,634 of them—to fill in a survey about when artificial intelligence would be better and cheaper than humans at a variety of tasks. The experts predict that AI will outperform humans in the next 10 years in tasks such as translating languages (by 2024), writing high school essays (by 2026), and driving trucks (by 2027). But many other tasks will take much longer for machines to master. AI won’t be better than humans at working in retail until 2031, able to write a bestselling book until 2049, or capable of working as a surgeon until 2053. The experts go on to predict a 50 percent chance that AI will be better than humans at more or less everything in about 45 years. That’s the kind of prediction that needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. The 40-year prediction horizon should always raise alarm bells. According to some energy experts, cost-effective fusion energy is about 40 years away—but it always has been. It was 40 years away when researchers first explored fusion more than 50 years ago. But it has stayed a distant dream because the challenges have turned out to be more significant than anyone imagined. The world is changing fast, pulled by technological advancements and conceptual paradigm shifts. Artificial intelligence (AI) is a typical case in that its development has already changed people's lives, and more changes, possibly revolutionary transitions, are about to come shortly. We are using so many technologies related to AI, such as smartphones, social media with algorithms pleasing us, and booking systems while witnessing the continuous technological evolution taking place in an unprecedented way. We can hardly deny that AI-related technologies, e.g., big data and machine intelligence, have pushed our daily lives and future in an unprecedented way. According to many previous studies, education, jobs, health care, utility, and environmental protection are topics connected to AI and considered by more people Envisioning the future While some people are excited to see all that AI can achieve, others have warned about possible dangers and social impacts it could have. For now,are the future is not clear, but we should approach it with excitement and an open mind, trying to benefit from all AI has made possible, while continuing to value our own intelligence and emotions. We need to appreciate what we are all capable of, and see that the question is not about choosing between AI and humans, but rather about building a future of collaboration where we have both – human intelligence and artificial intelligence – coexisting and functioning together. Are we replaceable? No matter how many developments we see in the wide use of AI, it is still not possible for AI to replace human intelligence. The core aspect of human intelligence remains our ability to consider ourselves and others, feel empathy, make decisions based not only on data but also instinct, and read the emotions of people around us in order to adjust our behavior, a key aspect of human interaction. The question of whether AI will replace human workers assumes that AI and humans have the same qualities and abilities — but, in reality, they don't. AI-based machines are fast, more accurate, and consistently rational, but they aren't intuitive, emotional, or culturally sensitive. Moreover human can never create the destroyer of themselves. So AI is definitely the revolution in today’s world but no way can replace HUMAN ever. • One decision can change your life: Dr. Archana Burman

We have 60,000 thoughts each day and many decisions to make. Then how can we understand which one to choose and which is that ONE Decision that can change my life? I really believe there is this insane power that comes from making a choice. One decision has the power to change the course of your entire life, like a decision to live your life a certain way, a decision on your college major, a decision to date a certain person, a decision to get a certain job, and all decisions in between. It’s crazy what can come from making one decision. It literally only takes one decision to change your entire life. One choice that can interrupt everything, or change everything for the better. I just think the reality is, we all just want to live our lives the best we can. We all want to one day look back over our lives and to be glad that things happened in the way that they happened based on the decisions that we made. That’s really what everything comes down to, so don’t take for granted making a choice. Realize that power you have in shaping your life and in making decisions that can literally change its course. Design your own life in 5 easy steps Identify the First Habit You Want to Change Whether you've decided to make a personal change a New Years' resolution, or simply want to change up your day-to-day routine, changing a habit can be the start of a meaningful personal transformation. Before you can actually change any aspect of yourself, you'll need to acknowledge that something needs to change and identify the habit you wish to break. You most likely already know what this is. What’s the biggest challenge you are facing which is affecting your career growth? Self Analysis is a process where a person attempts to know and understand oneself in order to explore possible changes which can be implied in one’s character, personality, and motives. Become More Observant. Notice everything that surrounds you. The world is full of examples, ideas, words, wisdom, mistakes, and experiences. Pay attention to details and use them to your own benefit. Now that you recognize what it is that's causing your problems, think about why you engage in that behavior. Every habit gives you something that you enjoy, even if that "reward" is simply avoiding something unpleasant that you don't want to do. Set a Goal The word ‘goals’ is thrown around a lot these days. So much so that it can be confusing what a goal really is. Research by a psychologist and career coach at the Dominican University of California shows that there’s a direct correlation between setting goals and achieving success. Properly defined goals help trigger new behaviors and help you focus on what’s important to you. The best way to achieve goals is to set fewer short-term goals which are easier to achieve. Goals have to be written. That’s the most point while setting any goals. Be sure to also note how you’ll implement and how you are achieving your milestones slowly but steadily. Getting emotionally involved in a goal is important, but don’t get emotionally involved in the problems you come across while achieving the goal. Such emotions are negative emotions and they blur the vision. A few examples: 1. Walk 10,000 steps per day 2. Drink 8 glasses of water each day 3. Meditation and visualization each morning 4. Reading 10 minutes per day Create a Work-Back Schedule to Achieve The Goals Consistently start putting your plan into action. Come up with a concrete list of steps you can take to make it as easy as possible to achieve your habit. One of the points in SMART Goals is Time Bound. The reason why you need time-bound goals is that you don’t want to go on endlessly, you want to have an end date. In case you miss that date by a day or two or at times even a month here and there don’t panic. At times, life throws you challenges that compel you to take diversions or halts and that can increase your time to reach your destination. Keep a Journal on Action Routine This doesn’t need to be elaborate. It can be as simple as jotting a quick note like “was easy” or “hard today” for the first week to get a better overview of your prioritized tasks, milestones, and deadlines. Your timeline also serves as a visual way to track the start and end dates of every task in your action plan. You can use it as a baseline to make sure your team stays on track A few good writing prompts for you: 1. What went well yesterday? 2. What didn’t go as planned yesterday? 3. How do I feel right now? 4. What brought me joy? 5. What’s my plan for today? Evaluate Your Progress Once you’ve listed out the steps you have to take in order to accomplish your goal (these steps represent your micro-goals), you’ll want to add a date next to each step. This date will serve as your checkpoint, and it is on that date you’ll set aside one minute to check yourself: did you achieve the micro-goal you set for yourself? At end of the week, evaluate if you want to change the healthier habit to something else that’s easier. If you decide to keep going, make sure you continue the habit for at least a month before trying for a different habit. Evaluate by tangible outcomes. Revise the list according to changing priorities. Make the list realistic and continue. Do not however become robotic. It will however help if you assign positive emotions to goals. Understand fully why each goal matters. Very soon you can measure small achievements. About Author: Dr Archana Burman is a multitasking and very hard-working goal-oriented woman. • NEP 2020: Encouraging Research and Innovation - Dr Anjum Qureshi

The Indian education system is considered to be one of the most credible ones among developing nations but there is a lot to be achieved in the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship. The national education policy 2020 (NEP) is set to reform the present education system and create new possibilities for lifelong learning, with an emphasis on entrepreneurship. The time has come that we come out of the mentality of getting lucrative job offers after graduation. Innovation and entrepreneurship are two factors that will undoubtedly strengthen the backbone of a self-reliant India and the reforms that will bring by NEP will prepare the young generation for it. The ministry of human resource and development has now been renamed as the ministry of education and has recognized that our country lags in the field of research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Creativity and critical thinking skills are key principles of NEP 2020. Have you ever wondered that though the number of PhDs awarded, the number of research papers and patents have increased drastically, how many are practically implemented or how many are developed into commercial products or services that can be used for the benefit of the community? There may be some limitations or reasons, but a major reason for the underutilization of research work in our country is the lack of creative and critical thinking among the people. The lack of such thinking capabilities has resulted in the stagnation of intellectual properties and local manufacturing. We need to inculcate these thinking capabilities among the youth and children, as creativity leads to innovation and these innovations can eventually be developed into startups and entrepreneurship. NEP has supported the inculcation of interest in research and innovations among students through the formation of autonomous bodies like the National Research Foundation (NRF) and the National Educational Technology Forum (NETF). The primary purpose of the NRF is to catalyze quality research in educational institutions. Some of the primary activities of NRF will include: (i) Funding peer-reviewed and competitive grant proposals from all disciplines (ii) Mentoring support for the institutions to facilitate research among the institutions where research activities are not commonly implemented (iii) acting as the linkage between researchers and Government bodies and industries to facilitate awareness about the latest research areas and the ones that need to be explored for the benefit of the nation (iv) Enhancing cognitive and research skills of the students by organizing conferences, workshops, and short courses for the current research areas. (v) Encourage participation of the women in the research activities. NETF is an autonomous body that will promote education and assessment through technology. The technology-led instruction will be included at the school level so that children start learning coding techniques at a young age like 12-13 years. NETF will focus on strengthening the usage of technology for educational institutions working at the grass root level. It will lay down standards for the contents and the technology that will be used for online teaching and learning. It will allow the free exchange of ideas on using the latest technologies that will help to enhance teaching methods, planning, and administration. It will support educational institutions to select the technologies that will be required for the latest research trends. It will help in maintaining the regular flow of authentic data from the innovators and researchers and deploy another set of researchers to analyze the received data. It will organize national and international conferences for innovators, researchers, and entrepreneurs to obtain inputs about the latest research and the technologies involved. NRF and NETF will contribute to strengthening the research scenario of the higher education institutions and fill the gaps observed in the current research systems. The research and innovation culture from the school and college days among the students can motivate them to develop new applications or devices that will comply with the current requirements of society. The education flexibility in NEP 2020 will foster research in multidisciplinary areas that can broaden the area of research for the research scholars. The students can register their innovative ideas for startups and also apply for patents. Thus along with academics the students can become entrepreneurs and contribute to making the country self-reliant. • Role of Teachers & Students in Post Covid Era - Dr.Pratik Mungekar

The Global Health Pandemic has shined a harsh light on the vulnerabilities and challenges humanity faces. It has provided a clear picture of existing inequalities—and a clearer picture of what steps forward we need to take, chief among them addressing the education of more than 1.5 billion students whose learning has been hampered due to school closures. It is evident that we cannot return to the world as it was before. One of the strongest messages in the attached report is that our common humanity necessitates global solidarity. We cannot accept the levels of inequality that have been permitted to emerge on our shared planet. It is particularly important that the world supports developing countries. with investment in 21st-century education infrastructures; this will require the mobilization of resources and support from developed countries, in particular with debt cancellation, restructuring, and new financing. Decisions made today in the context of COVID-19 will have long-term consequences for the future of education. Policy-makers, educators, and communities must make high-stakes choices today—these decisions should be guided by shared principles and visions of desirable collective futures. COVID-19 has revealed vulnerabilities; it has also surfaced extraordinary human resourcefulness and potential. This is a time for pragmatism and quick action, but it is also a moment when more than ever we cannot abandon scientific evidence. Nor can we operate without principles. Choices must be based on a humanistic vision of education and development and human rights frameworks. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development provides many of the necessary signposts and guidelines. Nine ideas for concrete actions today that will advance education tomorrow. 1. Commit to strengthening education as a common good. Education is a bulwark against inequalities. In education as in health, we are safe when everybody is safe; we flourish when everybody flourishes. 2. Expand the definition of the right to education so that it addresses the importance of connectivity and access to knowledge and information. The Commission calls for a global public discussion—that includes, among others, learners of all ages—on ways the right to education needs to be expanded. 3. Value the teaching profession and teacher collaboration. There has been remarkable innovation in the responses of educators to the COVID-19 crisis, with those systems most engaged with families and communities showing the most resilience. We must encourage conditions that give frontline educators autonomy and flexibility to act collaboratively. We cannot return to the world as it was before ❞ 4. Promote student, youth, and children’s participation and rights. Intergenerational justice and democratic principles should compel us to prioritize the participation of students and young people broadly in the co-construction of desirable change. 5. Protect the social spaces provided by schools as we transform education. The school as a physical space is indispensable. Traditional classroom organizations must give way to a variety of ways of ‘doing school’ but the school as a separate space-time of collective living, specific and different from other spaces of learning must be preserved. 6. Make free and open-source technologies available to teachers and students. Open educational resources and open-access digital tools must be supported. Education cannot thrive with ready-made content built outside of the pedagogical space and outside of human relationships between teachers and students. Nor can education be dependent on digital platforms controlled by private companies. 7. Ensure scientific literacy within the curriculum. This is the right time for deep reflection on curriculum, particularly as we struggle against the denial of scientific knowledge and actively fight misinformation. 8. Protect domestic and international financing of public education. The pandemic has the power to undermine several decades of advances. National governments, international organizations, and all education and development partners must recognize the need to strengthen public health and social services but simultaneously mobilize around the protection of public education and its financing. 9. Advance global solidarity to end current levels of inequality. COVID-19 has shown us the extent to which our societies exploit power imbalances and our global system exploits inequalities. The Commission calls for renewed commitments to international cooperation and multilateralism, together with a revitalized global solidarity that has empathy and an appreciation of our common humanity at its core. COVID-19 presents us with a real challenge and a real responsibility. These ideas invite debate, engagement, and action by governments, international organizations, civil society, educational professionals, as well as learners and stakeholders at all levels. We urgently need investment and structural change so that short-term setbacks do not grow into larger, long-lasting problems. There is a serious risk that COVID-19 will wipe out several decades of progress—most notably the progress that has been made in addressing poverty and gender equality. While the pandemic demonstrates that we belong to one interconnected humanity, social and economic arrangements mean that the impacts of the virus are disparate and unjust. Gender discrimination means that girls’ educational attainments are likely to suffer greatly, with a risk of many not returning to school post-COVID-19. This is not something we should accept; we must do everything in our power to prevent it. COVID-19 has the potential to radically reshape our world, but we must not passively sit back and observe what plays out. Now is the time for public deliberation and democratic accountability. Now is the time for intelligent collective action. The situation we face is so dramatic and difficult that we cannot afford to be pessimistic. We are facing the biggest changes in education since public schooling emerged in the 19th century. The urgency of improving the world before presented us all with a real challenge and responsibility. We must build narratives for what the new reality could look like. We have to nourish the sources that give us hope for rethinking how the world works. Education needs to be at the heart of a post-COVID-19 world. For that future we need boldness of thought and courageous action now. • ManipalCigna Health Insurance and Healthysure partner to launch Flexi-Top Up

Employee benefits insurtech, Healthysure has partnered with ManipalCigna Health Insurance to launch India's first Flexi Top-up Insurance which allows employees to personalize and upgrade their corporate health insurance plans. By paying a nominal add-on premium, employees can upgrade their cover, which can even be continued in a personal capacity post-employment. They are thus able to eliminate the need of buying independent personal health coverage and also save up to 90% of premium spending. “During COVID-19, we couldn’t help but notice a significant gap in an employee’s health insurance journey. A corporate health cover did not have sufficient coverage and also expired the moment an employee left the organization. We could all see the consequences of not having sufficient health coverage as hospital bills hit the roof during Covid. Our Flexi top-up bridges that gap where an individual can upgrade their corporate sponsored cover and also convert their top-up cover into a personal base cover when they leave.” says Anuj Parekh, CEO, and Co-founder of Healthysure. Flexi-top-up is powered through Healthysure’s technology platform through which a policy is issued digitally within 30 seconds of making a purchase. This policy does not require any extra loading premium for pre-existing diseases, nor does it have a co-payment clause. Shashank Chaphekar. Chief Distribution & Technology Officer of ManipalCigna Health Insurance, added, “Our commitment to making healthcare more affordable, predictable and simple, is a vision that we share with Healthysure. Hence, we are happy to partner with Healthysure to launch our flexible and customised ‘Flexi-Top Up’ health insurance plan. The plan is exclusively designed for Healthysure’s clients to deliver enhanced safety net of coverage, keeping in mind the growing high medical inflation rate, so that policyholders stays worry free when it comes to their and their family’s current and future healthcare needs.” Healthysure Healthysure is an employee welfare platform, targeting SMEs to make insurance and healthcare affordable and accessible to the Indian workforce and their families. It provides personalized and simpler claim management through a trusted health insurance partner. The claims can be tracked in real-time which also enables employees to voluntarily customize their corporate health benefits. The platform also offers digitized policy and claim experience with flexible health and wellness offerings. Healthysure has launched India's first Unified Health Insurance plan that allows employees to personalize their organization's health covers with continuity post-employment thus, eliminating the need of holding an independent personal health cover and savings up to 75% premiums. At the same time, Healthysure also offers a complete healthcare stack for organizations to manage their health benefits. Healthysure has partnered with over 70 companies, covering over 20,000 policyholders under its healthcare solutions. Addressing the problem: Healthysure’s aim is to help simplify health insurance for the Indian workforce and make it more and more affordable and accessible. To address the pattern of inadequate health cover policies, Healthysure was launched by Anuj Parekh and Sanil Basutkar. Many organizations in most cases are restricted by budget constraints and as a result, opt for a cover that may not be comprehensive. This results in either the employee opting for a separate personal cover and in essence paying double the premium or as in most cases, the employees are unable to afford a comprehensive cover, thereby leaving them with the potential for the crippling debt at the time of critical emergencies – as was the case observed during COVID-19. About Founders Healthysure is the brainchild of two young, chartered accountants who are alumni of IIM-B and ISB- Anuj and Sanil. Anuj Parekh, a national CA rank holder and a graduate from IIM-B has co-founded this insure-tech platform with yet another CA and his long-time friend Sanil Basutkar, a graduate from ISB is his co-founding partner. Anuj Parekh, Co-founder and CEO Anuj Parekh is the co-founder and CEO at Healthysure. Before co-founding HealthySure Anuj served as a Management Consultant at Auctus Advisors consulting novel infrastructure projects such as the world's first commercial hyperloop project in India and has been part of the Core Team at Mahindra SmartShift - a seed-funded logistics tech start-up. Sanil Basutkar, Co Founder Sanil Basutkar is the co-founder at Healthysure. Previously he has worked at Ernst and Young (EY), Torre Capital as the Product Manager, and at Jarvis Technology and Strategy Consulting as the Program Manager.
