  • AI is powerful, but human intelligence is priceless—it will not replace designers: Four fashion icons at YFLO’s ‘Style Speaks Strategy’

Fashion transcends fabric—it is an expression of emotion, identity, and culture. While Artificial Intelligence (AI) can streamline processes, it cannot replicate the intuition, imagination, and cultural sensitivity that define a designer’s work. This was the key takeaway from a compelling discussion featuring four leading fashion experts—Karan Torani, Tanya Ghavri, Namrata Joshipura, and Anjali Gaekwar—moderated by Ms. Pallavi Jain, Chairperson of YFLO (Young FICCI Ladies Organisation), at the session titled ‘Style Speaks Strategy’ , held on Saturday evening at Park Hyatt, Banjara Hills. Opening the session, Pallavi Jain set the tone by stating, “Knowledge is power. Today, we exchange ideas not through textbooks or boardrooms, but through style, creativity, and strategic thinking. Fashion is more than attire—it fuels economies, drives innovation, and shapes identity. Behind every trend is a narrative, behind every design is a strategy, and behind every successful brand is years of dedication and expertise.” AI in Fashion: A Tool, Not a Threat The panel emphasised that AI will enhance, not replace, the role of designers—transforming how they work rather than diminishing their value. Karan Torani, founder of Torani, remarked, “Just as photography did not replace painting, AI will not replace fashion design—it will redefine it. AI may handle repetitive tasks, but designers will focus more on creative direction, storytelling, sustainability, and emotional branding.” He further added, “Technology may advance, but cultural roots endure. Even in a digital age, traditions remain—take weddings for example, the ‘bandwala’ is still part of the celebration.” Tanya Ghavri, celebrity stylist, observed, “AI may have intelligence, but humans have imagination. Machines compute, but only the human mind can create and innovate.” She also highlighted the growing prominence of styling as a profession: “A decade ago, styling was confined to film sets and magazines. Today, it’s a sought-after career across OTT platforms, advertising, weddings, corporate shoots, and social media—making it one of the most aspirational professions.” Anjali Gaekwar, luxury retail entrepreneur and co-founder of Lighthouse, added, “Design is ingrained in who we are—it’s part of our DNA. AI is merely a tool. The modern Indian luxury consumer has shifted from aspiration to appreciation, seeking not just products but authentic experiences.” Namrata Joshipura, internationally acclaimed fashion designer, shared, “Indian fashion is no longer bound by geography. Our craftsmanship speaks a universal language, and when combined with contemporary silhouettes, it resonates with women globally.” Challenges and Opportunities The panel also addressed concerns around AI’s potential to replicate signature styles and flood markets with inexpensive imitations—making copyright protection and originality critical priorities for the industry. The consensus was clear: India’s fashion remains rooted in heritage while embracing innovation, giving it a competitive edge in the global market. “Fashion is both local and global, and India’s rich heritage paired with creativity and entrepreneurship makes it uniquely positioned to lead,” they concluded. The session was attended by over 200 FLO and YFLO members and concluded on a lighter note with a Fashion Trivia game, where attendees collaborated in teams to test their fashion knowledge.

  • Inspector Zende: A Witty Spin on a Real-Life Manhunt

When cinema borrows from real life, it comes with a sense of intrigue. Inspector Zende , starring Manoj Bajpayee, Girija Oak, Bhau Kadam, Sachin Khedekar, Vaibhav Mangle, Omkar Raut, and Jim Sarbh, takes inspiration from Inspector Madhukar Zende—the man who captured Charles Sobhraj (renamed Carl Bhojraj here)—and turns it into a lively comedy-thriller. The film refuses to be a grim procedural. Instead, it balances the edge of a manhunt with pockets of humour, keeping the ride light, engaging, and family-friendly. This tonal blend makes the story not just watchable, but refreshingly entertaining. What truly stands out is the recreation of the 1990s. The bustling streets of Mumbai and the laid-back charm of Goa are captured with striking authenticity. The production design and visual palette deserve applause for pulling the audience back in time without ever feeling staged. Performance-wise, the cast is a treat. Bhau Kadam delivers impeccable comic timing, injecting just the right amount of levity at the perfect moments. Manoj Bajpayee, with his quiet intensity, anchors the film, while Girija Oak, Sachin Khedekar, and Vaibhav Mangle enrich the ensemble with memorable quirks. The predominantly Marathi cast—about 80%—is a clever creative decision. It grounds the story in its cultural soil, lending authenticity and freshness to the narrative fabric. Directed and written by Chinmay Mandlekar and produced by Om Raut and Jay Shewakrama under Northern Light Films, the movie feels self-assured. It doesn’t chase melodrama but thrives on simplicity, wit, and nostalgia. Inspector Zende  isn’t just about catching a criminal; it’s about reliving history with humour, heart, and style. A perfect weekend watch that entertains across generations. Neel Deshpande  is a Creative Catalyst and Founder of Neel Writes , blending PR, media, and storytelling into impactful strategies. A film critic, writer, and poet in Marathi, Hindi, and English, he champions regional cinema and human-centred leadership. Rooted in Western Maharashtra yet carrying a global vision, he thrives on turning simplicity into something spectacular.

  • Depressed or under confident? - Rakshaa Chhabriaa

Let’s build confidence with Bach Remedies . This is a real case (name changed to protect privacy). Radhika was approaching her 50th birthday when her husband reached out for an appointment. She came along, and at first, she said she had just one issue. However, during the consultation, we discovered she had multiple concerns—all connected to the nervous system, including lack of courage and low self-confidence. She had also been battling low immunity, migraines, and thyroid issues for years. Here’s the surprising part: a partner in a prestigious law firm, decorated with awards and achievements—but struggling with courage and self-confidence? It seems unreal, right? Unless you’ve experienced it yourself, it’s hard to understand how a lack of inner confidence quietly infiltrates every part of your life, creating misery and despair. It can lead to depression—a deep, persistent state that affects your mind and body. Today, the word “depression” is loosely applied to anyone having trouble dealing with life’s challenges. But that one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work. Just like one rotten apple spoils the whole basket, a lack of confidence infects every area of your life. It’s like termites eating away at you—unseen, silent, yet destructive—attacking the nervous system before you even realize something’s wrong. Without addressing it, the whole self can crumble. Let’s explore this through Radhika’s story. Radhika’s Story: The Hidden Struggle Radhika grew up as a very self-conscious child. She shared stories of how embarrassed she felt when people talked to her, and how she always thought she couldn't match the other children her age. Introverted and reserved, she kept to herself and later attended personality grooming workshops to fit the expectations of her career. But here's the catch: adults around her—including teachers, parents, and caregivers—often dismissed these feelings as just personality quirks or preferences. The reality is deeper. Here’s what happens beneath the surface: You feel inferior without any real reason. You admire successful people but doubt your own abilities. You accept failure as inevitable, assuming you can't do better. You use illness as an excuse when you fear failure. You feel powerless, with low self-worth and self-esteem. These are disturbances at the nervous system level—complex yet rooted in something simple: self-doubt that erodes inner confidence. It’s just a simple term— self-confidence —but when missing, it wreaks havoc. It’s like termites inside your mind, quietly eating away at your sense of self. Beyond Appearances Despite her awards and recognition, Radhika was labelled “depressed.” She kept pushing herself until the termites within took over. The “not good enough” feeling eventually consumed her. She quit her job, struggled with parenting, and became afraid of everyday tasks. Seasonal changes brought illness, migraines, exhaustion, and sleepless nights. Even the best diets and spa treatments couldn’t help. Her family felt helpless—witnessing her pain without understanding its root. She was prescribed antidepressants but saw little improvement. Radhika avoided social events, choosing to sit at the back rather than participate. Smiling became difficult. She avoided adventure, travel, and friends—convinced she would fail. Does This Sound Familiar? Does your child, friend, spouse, or colleague doubt themselves or lack confidence? Maybe they feel down or isolated? It’s a direct question—but an important one. We cannot see the termites, so we often fail to recognize the damage. If someone close to you is going through this, please share this message. We understand how they feel—it’s a valid, deeply personal experience, and there’s a simple, gentle, natural solution that works. Material success cannot fix a termite problem inside the nervous system. Just like termites destroy wood regardless of its price, unresolved feelings create damage regardless of wealth or status. A Nervous Breakdown During the consultation, Radhika’s husband revealed she had previously suffered a nervous breakdown with palpitations. How does a nervous breakdown happen? In Radhika’s case, it manifested as a severe, month-long viral fever that left her emotionally and physically drained. She lost the confidence to face life and withdrew from everything she loved. Extensive medical tests—including cancer screenings—showed nothing wrong, but she continued to suffer. Resigning from work worsened her loneliness and self-doubt. As a successful lawyer, she couldn't understand what was happening to her, and neither could her family. Sleepless Nights Her husband also shared that she couldn’t sleep. She would wake up at 3-4 AM with racing thoughts that wouldn’t let her rest. She felt exhausted but powerless to stop the anxiety. She wanted to feel better, regain confidence, and return to work. The Healing Process We worked on Radhika’s nervous system using Bach Remedies  and neuro-coaching. Remedies were tailored to her symptoms and emotions and adjusted weekly. Gradually, she started to feel calm. Her racing mind slowed, and she slept well. Energy returned, she felt cheerful, and she re-engaged with people and activities. Healing is slow, gentle, and often invisible—just like the termites. But once the inner energy begins to shift, the results become visible. Depression, at its core, is sometimes nothing more than a deep lack of confidence. Over To You Rakshaa Chhabriaa I’m sure you can relate to some of these feelings. Bach Remedies work as a magic potion—not by force, but by gently reigniting the self-confidence that lies dormant within you. I’d love to hear from you! • Program on Export Opportunities to the UK and Benefits under India–UK CETA held

Hyderabad, September 11, 2025 — The Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI), in partnership with the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) and the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), organised a program on Export Opportunities to the UK and Benefits under India–UK CETA . The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) is a landmark free trade pact between India and the UK, marking a new milestone in their longstanding partnership. Bilateral trade has already touched USD 56 billion, with a shared goal of doubling this figure by 2030. Dr. E. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, IFS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, and His Excellency Mr. Gareth Wynn Owen, British Deputy High Commissioner, Hyderabad, were the chief guests. Dr. E. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, IFS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India , described the India–UK CETA as “a new milestone agreement” . “This agreement shows that India has emerged. It is a real victory,” he said. He suggested that FTCCI establish an MSME Facilitation Centre or Desk to guide small and medium enterprises in utilising the benefits of comprehensive FTAs. He recommended that MSMEs be encouraged to utilise platforms such as the  Trade Connect Portal , adopt  paperless business practices , implement  digital payments , and  obtain financial assurance in international trade. Looking ahead, Dr. Reddy expressed hope for a similar trade deal with the USA: “Much larger or equally important trade will happen. The India–UK FTA will become a template to negotiate with all partner countries,” he noted. His Excellency Mr. Gareth Wynn Owen, British Deputy High Commissioner, Hyderabad , welcomed the event as timely: “We are all excited about this FTA. It is a very comprehensive agreement and will serve as the blueprint for all future FTAs. What it means to exporters and importers is making trade faster and easier. Duties will come down significantly, many products have become cheaper, and these facilities will attract more investments in each other’s countries,” he said. He further highlighted that India is already the second-largest investor in the UK and encouraged SMEs to scale up operations: “If you want to explore global markets, this FTA will support you. We hope many Indian SMEs spread their wings and take advantage of this agreement.” In his welcome remarks, Mr. R. Ravi Kumar, President, FTCCI , said, “The India–UK CETA represents more than just a trade agreement – it is a gateway to enhanced economic cooperation, reduced tariff barriers, and unprecedented market access opportunities. For our SME entrepreneurs, manufacturers, and exporters, this agreement opens new horizons for growth and expansion into one of the world’s most sophisticated markets.” He highlighted how the program would help exporters understand tariff reductions, market access benefits, rules of origin, compliance frameworks, sectoral impacts, and documentation processes, including Certificate of Origin procedures. He also underlined the need for exporters to diversify markets and seize new opportunities. Mr. AVPS Chakravarthi, Chair, International Trade Committee, FTCCI , noted that the agreement would: Lower tariffs and streamline regulations, making Indian medicines, vaccines, healthcare solutions, and digital innovations more accessible in the UK. It will boost the competitiveness of Indian textiles, gems & jewellery, engineering goods, and agri-products such as rice, spices, processed foods, and nutraceuticals. It can create fresh collaboration opportunities in clean energy, EV components, and start-up ecosystems. It will reduce duplicative testing through regulatory cooperation and simplify compliance, saving exporters valuable time and costs. Speaking further, he added: “The world today is looking for resilient and trusted supply chains. The India–UK partnership can deliver not just in goods, but also in services, ideas, and innovation. If affordability is India’s strength and innovation is the UK’s spirit—then this partnership can redefine global trade.” Mr. K. Unnikrishnan, Joint Director General, FIEO , called CETA a landmark deal, ushering in a new era of trade agreements , with Telangana exporters standing to gain significantly. FIEO is the voice of Indian exporters and a bridge between the government and the exporting community. It was set up jointly by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, and private trade and industry bodies in 1965. It acts as the apex body of Indian exporters , representing the interests of all kinds of export units—large, medium, and small—across merchandise and services, he added. Mr. Sambhaji Chavan, ITS, Joint Director General of Foreign Trade , and Mr. Akshay SC, ITS, Joint Director of Foreign Trade , explained the benefits of duty-free access for 99% of Indian exports, particularly in labour-intensive sectors like textiles and marine products, and services such as IT and finance. For the UK, tariffs on over 80% of its tariff lines would be reduced. They stressed that the CETA would enhance India’s competitiveness against major UK import sources such as China, the US, and Germany. Mr. B. Ambedkar Raju, Incharge-Parcel Operations, Department of Posts , introduced Dak Ghar Niryat Kendras (DNKs) , an initiative enabling MSMEs and artisans to export through post offices with simplified digital documentation, customs integration, and logistics support. Mr. Amlendu Bipul Mishra, AGM & Branch Head, ECGC Ltd , spoke about ECGC’s role in providing export credit insurance, mitigating risks like buyer defaults and political instability, and improving access to credit for exporters. Over 200 exporters, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders attended the session. DGFT officials appreciated the efforts of FIEO and FTCCI in bringing the export community together on a single platform. • “Don’t fight with AI. Learn to ask better questions,” – Ms. Anuradha, Tech Leader with 34 years of Industry Experience

“AI has existed since the 1990s—Kasparov’s ‘Advanced Chess’ proved it can augment, not replace, human capability,” said Ms. Anuradha.   Some jobs will be lost due to AI, but there is a time for it: Mr. Mohan Silaparasetty   Hyderabad, September 12, 2025: The Ladies Wing Committee of the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) organised a full-day, power-packed workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Women on Friday at FTCCI, Red Hills, Hyderabad. The overwhelming response saw over 200 women participating, forcing organisers to close registrations in advance.   Delivering the welcome address, R. Ravi Kumar, President of FTCCI, remarked in a lighter vein: “Women are intelligent naturally. Why do you want to learn Artificial Intelligence? And that too from men?” He went on to stress that FTCCI is a pro-entrepreneurship and gender-equality body. “AI is no longer optional. Women remain underrepresented in technology—this program aims to change that. The future belongs to Women in AI. I urge women to learn, lead, and leverage AI for career and business growth,” he said.   Dr. Tasneem Shariff, Chairperson of the Ladies Wing and Women Empowerment Committee, FTCCI, in her introductory remarks, said: “Today, we are not just speaking about technology; we are speaking about the future of humanity. AI is reshaping every aspect of our lives—how we work, how we learn, how we heal, and even how we dream. Historically, women have always been at the heart of innovation. Ada Lovelace wrote the first algorithm. Grace Hopper pioneered programming languages. And yet, today, women remain underrepresented in labs, leadership, and decision-making rooms.”   The keynote speaker was Ms. Anuradha A, Executive Partner, IBM. She recalled how in 1997 Garry Kasparov lost to IBM’s Deep Blue, a landmark moment proving computers could rival world champions in chess. “But instead of resisting, Kasparov proposed a new format in 1998 called Advanced Chess (or Centaur Chess), where humans teamed up with machines. It showed that AI could augment human capability, not replace it. The strongest teams were not the best computers or the best grandmasters, but those who knew how to use AI effectively,” she explained.   She urged women to embrace this collaborative spirit.  “AI is your amplifier, not your enemy. Think of it as your digital twin—doing the mundane, so you can do the meaningful. Don’t fight with AI; learn to ask better questions.” “AI is multimodal—text, image, video, voice. It is for everyone, not just the elite. By 2028, one-third of interactions with generative AI will use autonomous agents for task completion.” “AI won’t take your job. But someone who knows how to use AI will outpace you.”   She highlighted how AI can already reduce task time by 25%, increase overall task completion by 12%, and improve work quality by 40%. “The future is human–AI collaboration, new careers, and higher ethical responsibility,” she added.   Mr. Mohan Silaparasetty, Founder of Trendwise Analytics & Program Lead – AI for Leaders at ISB, conducted hands-on AI demos, explained real-world case studies, and explored GenAI and Agentic AI applications. We will lose some jobs because of AI, but there is a time for it, he said.   The workshop emphasised why AI literacy is essential for women: Career growth – gain employable skills and upskill for the future. Entrepreneurship – use AI to scale businesses in e-commerce, healthcare, fashion, and education. Everyday benefits – smarter ways to manage time, finances, health, and safety. Confidence & leadership – knowledge that strengthens decision-making and independence. Networking – connect with mentors, peers, and industry leaders. The day-long workshop had five sessions.  In each session, a specific aspect of the AI was discussed at length.    The program was specially curated for women professionals, entrepreneurs, aspiring founders, and startups keen to harness AI for strategic growth. Participants walked away AI-ready —equipped with toolkits, insights, and strong networks.   Mr. KK Maheshwari, Sr Vice President and Mr. Srinivas Garimella, Vice President of FTCCI, graced the occasion, and Mr. Maheshwari proposed a vote of thanks.     Media Contact: Solus Media – D. Mayaa SH, born Shivani, is a prominent Indian authoress, essayist, thinker, podcaster, columnist, and activist, widely recognised for her bold and unfiltered expression on social issues, particularly those concerning women and societal injustices. Her journey from a corporate professional to a celebrated developmental feminist and gender-based violence specialist is marked by a deep commitment to social causes and a relentless pursuit of gender equality. She attributes her success not to any single organisation or person, but to all those who believed in her dream to transcend societal limitations, including her teachers who fostered her creative and intellectual abilities, and a supportive network of friends. Journey: Mayaa SH's journey has been characterised by a blend of personal conviction, societal observation, and an unwavering belief in self-empowerment and courage, leading to significant achievements and widespread recognition in contemporary Indian literature and women's rights advocacy. Mayaa SH's journey has been influenced by several key decisions and a clear vision that have shaped her impactful career. She began writing at the age of ten, transforming this passion into a mission to amplify the voices of millions of women through contemporary literature that reflects social and political viewpoints. This early start and consistent dedication allowed her to embark on a journey of extensive work for women's rights and empowerment, integrating realism, current events, and socioeconomic messages into all her work. Her decision to pursue writing full-time in India, despite the myth that one must leave the country for greater recognition, demonstrates her focus and determination. She emphasises that to excel in any field, one must be courageous enough to adopt customs that common people might fear, and to create great value for readers by focusing on the content and message of one's writings. A significant aspect of her journey is her unwavering commitment to women's empowerment and gender equality. Mayaa SH believes that empowering women is essential for the health and social development of families, communities, and countries, enabling women to reach their full potential and contribute their skills to the workforce. Her work is deeply rooted in developmental feminism, which emphasises empowering women through social, economic, political, and personal development. She advocates for education, economic independence, and challenging patriarchal structures, stressing the importance of self-belief and dismantling systemic barriers that hinder women's progress. Her perspective on leadership emphasises values such as empathy, transparency, and justice, which she believes are essential for thought leaders to welcome change. Mayaa SH's journey is marked by a proactive stance against complacency, viewing challenges as opportunities for growth and learning. She emphasises that true courage involves pursuing paths that others might fear due to potential loss or judgment, a philosophy that has helped her navigate criticism and burnout. While acknowledging the difficulties in establishing a writing career, she asserts that consistent daily dedication is key to success once established. These challenges include childhood gender gaps, pervasive stereotypes and gender norms, and various societal pressures. From a young age, girls may internalise messages that undermine their competence and worth, leading to self-doubt and a reluctance to pursue difficult challenges. Societal norms can penalise women for expressing emotions like anger, labelling them as 'unstable,' and often portray men as default leaders, which can hinder women from asserting themselves and celebrating their successes. Furthermore, women frequently experience intense pressure to conform to beauty standards and to manage an overwhelming number of responsibilities, often leading to unhealthy habits like self-comparison and a lack of mutual support among women. The ability to bounce back from adversity, known as resilience, is crucial for women to navigate life's challenges with grace and courage. This is particularly evident in significant life events such as divorce, where women demonstrate a remarkable capacity to adapt, persevere, and thrive despite emotional, financial, and legal difficulties. Setting boundaries and assertively voicing needs are critical for protecting time, energy, and overall well-being."

  • Cyber Security Has to Be Chai Pe Charcha: Rakshit Tandon

The FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) Hyderabad organised a highly informative session on cyber awareness titled #Hackproof – Stay Safe Online at The Park, Necklace Road, on Wednesday.   In her opening remarks, Ms. Prabhibha Kunda, Chairperson of FLO Hyderabad , said: “Here’s the scary truth: every 39 seconds, a cyberattack happens somewhere in the world. One click on the wrong link, one careless share of personal information, one weak password… and suddenly, the security we take for granted can be shaken. In today’s reality, firewalls are the new locks, passwords are the new keys, and vigilance is the only true security.”     Timely reporting is key said Shikha Goel,  Director, Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) said. She  emphasised that cyber fraud is inevitable, but vigilance can reduce risks: The victims must report fraud within the “Golden Hour” by calling 1930 (Cyber Helpline) or visiting www.cybercrime.gov.in . Telangana Police has already blocked 43,000 SIMs, 14,000 IMEIs, and 8,000 URLs used by fraudsters, she shared.    Giving information about police efforts, she said last year, ₹292 crore was refunded to victims. India lost ₹24,000 crore to cyber fraud in 2024, with ₹1,900 crore lost in Telangana alone.   She also explained scams like call forwarding fraud , where victims are tricked into dialling special codes that silently forward calls and OTPs to criminals. “Citizens must learn how to deactivate such forwarding features on their phones. Awareness is the best defence,” she said.   Cybersecurity has to be everyday talk said Rakshit Tandon who taught 70 lakh children on Cyber Security in India.  Renowned cyber expert Rakshit Tandon , who works closely with the police forces of 18 states, made a strong case for making cyber awareness a household conversation: “Cybersecurity has to be a chai pe charcha subject. Most victims I see are well-educated people, never the illiterate. Why? Because greed blinds them. Use common sense—before you click, before you share, before you pay.”   Mr. Tandon urged citizens to adopt basic cyber hygiene such as the following : Use strong, unique passwords and change them regularly. Enable multi-factor authentication on critical accounts. Do not click on unknown links or attachments. Verify before sharing personal data, photos, or money. Educate children and elders, who are often the most vulnerable.   He introduced the audience to the concept of “data weaponisation” : “Data is no longer just information; it is a weapon. When collected, manipulated, or misused, it can be turned against individuals, organisations, or even nations—to exploit, influence, or control.”   He offered the simple yet powerful following practical tips to Stay Hack-Proof To deactivate call forwarding, dial ##002# on your phone. To check if your calls are being forwarded, dial *#21# ; to disable, use ##21# . Avoid free public Wi-Fi, never use simple passwords like “12345,” and always call back unknown numbers instead of answering them directly. Instead of banning social media for children, make them cyber-wise through awareness and guidance.
