  • Sweetycat Press and Some More Literary Submission Recommendations By Writer Steve Lester Carr

As a Writer, Author or Content Creator, you need to have a good understanding of the submission of the right content or material for the literary world. That's why we interacted with an Author Who opened up about the Sweetycat Press and other submissions that will get results. Make sure you’re hitting every point on this list!. Sweetycat Press began as a Facebook group launched by Steve Carr, a frequently published short story writer and novelist, in February 2020 to support emerging writers through providing tools for self-promotion and brand building. Toward that goal, five high-quality books (Who’s Who of Emerging Writers 2020, The Book of Books, I. The Writer, The Wordsmith Chronicles, To Be Or Not To Be A Writer) were published within a year that included essays and short stories from hundreds of writers worldwide. Additionally, two Youtube productions were produced: In A Flash, reading by author Dave Gregory of flash fiction stories written by authors in the Facebook group, and The Poetics, a series of episodes where author Wendy Vogel read poetry written by the members. The books remain on Amazon.com with any money from the sales after April 1, 2021, to go toward the continued support of emerging writers. In A Flash and The Poetics remain on Youtube. The Sweetycat Press Facebook group began at the same time that the COVID-19 pandemic sprung up, leading to the Facebook group being shut down after a year in operation due to the pandemic’s impact on the Facebook group’s mission. Not wanting to shut down his Sweetycat Press publishing imprint, and seeking other ways to support emerging writers, Steve quickly developed two separate arms of Sweetycat Press. The first was the establishment of an online literary magazine, Short Story Town, that publishes up to ten new short stories a month in an anthology-style format, where one story follows the next, in the same way, that an anthology is collated. The authors of the stories are paid, which isn’t generally the case for online publications. To date, 23 stories have been published, by authors worldwide. Short Story Town can be found at https://www.shortstorytown.com/. The other arm of Sweetycat Press is the book publishing endeavour. It endeavours to publish novels and collections by emerging writers who have never had a book published along with books that highlight the accomplishments of emerging writers. So far it has published a YA novel, Beyond Wishes, by Joan Herr, and recently published Who’s Who of Emerging Writers 2021, and a collection of poetry by Mike Turner, titled Visions and Memories. Carried over from the Facebook group, the five previously published books can be found on the Sweetycat Press website. The website is https://www.sweetycatpress.com/. Sweetycat Press welcomes submissions from emerging writers who write short stories and narrative poems to Short Story Town, and contact, Steve Carr, at sweetycatpress@gmail.com if you have a novel or poetry collection you would like me to consider. Other Recommendations by Steve Lester Carr for Literary Submissions There are literally thousands of online magazines, each with its own unique layout and specifications for what they are looking for. Five recommend by Steve are: The World of Myth Magazine, which publishes a variety of stories of different genres once a month. It can be found at www.TheWorldofMyth.com. Indian Periodical is an Indian publication that prints literary stories from authors worldwide. Their focus is on the global community, seeking stories that are universal in nature, with a special interest in stories set in Asia. Their website is http://indianperiodical.com/ A magazine that in its layout doesn’t really look like a magazine is The Academy of the Heart and Mind https://academyoftheheartandmind.wordpress.com/that accepts literary stories and like Sweetycat Press, caters to emerging writers. A publication familiar to many, https://spillwords.com/, accepts a wide range of short stories, flash fiction and poetry and is published frequently, with no real schedule. Based in London, Schlock! Webzine http://www.schlock.co.uk/ publishes fantasy, sci-fi and horror stories printed in monthly issues. For book publishers, this category is as broad as online magazines, and much less accessible since getting your book beyond an agent who is the gatekeeper for manuscripts to be submitted to larger, traditional publishers can be a real challenge, but there are some smaller traditional presses to consider looking into that you can submit your manuscript to directly. At the top of that list is Clarendon House Publishers, run by founder, Grant Hudson, who also is a well-known name among most writers in the Facebook groups. He is unique, but somewhat similar to Sweetycat Press in that he also publishes a magazine that comes out once a month that has a superb layout, a wide variety of articles and stories, at a very reasonable subscription price and is sent to you as a PDF. He publishes anthologies as well as collections, novels, novellas and other works, mostly in the literary genre. The website for Clarendon House is https://www.clarendonhousebooks.com/ A name is recognizable to a lot of readers/writers in Impspired Magazine and Publisher, founded by and run with amazing efficiency by Steve Cawte. The impressive Impspired magazine, loaded with a wide range of stories and poetry, is published as an online magazine that is subsequently published in print form and sold on Amazon. The inspired magazine also publishes poetry and short story collections. Check Impspired out at https://impspired.com/. They don’t have a magazine, but Pure Slush, based in Australia, publishes anthologies and individual novels by a wide range of authors. It can be found at https://pureslush.com/. Their tastes tend to be in mainstream literary work, but that’s not entirely the case. Flame Tree Press publishes anthologies with some of the most gorgeous covers on the face of the planet as well as novels by individual authors in the horror, supernatural, crime and mystery thrillers, science fiction and fantasy genres. Their website is https://www.flametreepress.com/. We hope, all the above recommendations will prove a great way to break into the publishing world. We are waiting for your responses, feedback through comments.

  • Technology’s contribution to the Education sector : Vivek K Singh , Co-founder, and CEO, Careerera

Since technology fosters improvisation and innovation, it will make education a globally accessible program for many children. I would begin by saying that education, like almost any other aspect of life today, has been influenced by technology. Technology has radically altered education in several respects. For one thing, technological advancements have dramatically increased educational opportunities. In medieval times when books were scarce, and only a fortunate few had access to educational opportunities. Individuals had to travel miles to educational institutions in order to receive an education. However huge quantities of knowledge (books, audio, photographs, and videos) are now available at one's fingertips through the Internet, and structured learning opportunities are available via MOOCs, podcasts, conventional online degree programmes, and more. Today's learning opportunities are unprecedented in scope, thanks to technical advances. Nowadays it has become increasingly important to keep up with technological advances as it becomes more and more integrated into our daily lives, particularly in these unprecedented times. The pandemic has highlighted the value of technology and demonstrated our dependency on it. Technology has also proven to be an incredibly beneficial tool in the education field. The Gift of Technology Due to the unforeseen crisis, the availability of numerous engaging content/programs, and other legitimate qualification courses online, technology has been ensured more intensively over the last year. Previously, however, primary and secondary schools did not see the need to incorporate technology into their curriculum on a regular basis. However, in the current situation, e-learning is the only way for children to attend daily classes without fear. Although we can't ignore the benefits of "traditional" learning, incorporating technology into traditional classrooms can only help students have a more engaging learning experience. The cycle connecting students-teachers and parents has undergone enormous changes with respect to technology. Apart from being just a fill-in during the Covid-19 crisis, the technology is expected to be a long-term inclusion in academics. It can not only be used in classrooms or while doing homework but also in extensive areas of operation. For the proper implementation of incessant knowledge, a few things are needed to be kept in mind, these are the type of device used for information sharing, the individual using technology for the same (i.e. teacher or student), the degree of technology use (i.e. more or less), and the level of performance as results/output. The Hybrid Learning In India, the education sector is rapidly taking wings and promptly becoming amalgamated with “traditional schooling”. This is where hybrid learning enters into the picture, accompanied by both modern and traditional tools in education being nurtured together for more appropriate and fruitful results. In different industries, technology and its consequences are numerous. However, we recognize that the educational environment has undergone a complete paradigm shift in the last year. The provision of various engaging content/programs and other legitimate certification courses online has increased its intensity over the last year as a result of the circumstantial crisis. When various e-learning platforms use animation and other fun resources to teach, education becomes more enjoyable. Technology can assist and enhance education in a multitude of ways, from making it much easier for teachers to develop teaching materials to inspiring people to learn and interact in new ways.

  • Vishal Nayak to portray Manish Agarwal in &TV’s Ghar Ek Mandir- Kripa Agrasen Maharaja Ki

Having worked in theatre, films, and television, popular actor Vishal Nayak is now all set to join the cast of &TV’s latest fiction show, ‘Ghar Ek Mandir - Kripa Agrasen Maharaja Ki’. He will portray Manish Agarwal’s character, the eldest son of Kundan Agarwal, who owns Agarwal & Sons – a family-run jewelry shop. Produced by Zee Studios, the show is a never-seen-before socio drama on Indian television built around the context of the legendary king, Agrasen Maharaja. He was the founder of the Agrawal community of traders and, through his ideologies and teachings, helped the community prosper. After nearly a decade in the entertainment industry, Vishal Nayak has had a remarkable journey across film and television. He has also spent considerable time exploring theatre along with being the face of many TV commercials. About his character and the show, Vishal Nayak as Manish Agarwal says, “It is the first time a socio-drama set in the context of the legendary king, Agrasen Maharaja’s core principles will be seen on Indian television. This unique story concept itself intrigued me and led me into being a part of this show. I will be playing the role of Manish Agarwal, the Agarwal family’s eldest son and Kundan Agarwal’s biggest hope for his business’ bright future. Manish is a well-educated, ambitious modern-age man who wants to step out of the family business and secure a corporate job. Even if he is a family man and respects his father’s business, somewhere deep down inside, he wants to make a name for himself and earn respect which a decent job could get him. But his father never tries to understand his dreams and aspirations, which led Manish to become a rebel in his family. Having an epileptic brother, shouldering family’s responsibilities, and still pursuing his dreams make Manish a relatable character". Elaborating further, he says, “I was part of a couple of socio dramas. But this one intrigued me as an actor. This storyline oscillates between the principles and philosophies of Agrasen Maharaja and the current modern understanding of this in the practical world. And how these two converge together, making the show inspiring and a great watch for the viewers.I am looking forward to a new journey with new experiences awaiting my way.” Watch Vishal Nayak as Manish Agarwal on ‘Ghar Ek Mandir-Kripa Agrasen Maharaja Ki’, premiering on August 10, 2021, at 9.00 pm on &TV and will air every Monday to Friday!

  • Competing at Paris Olympics Would be a Huge Honor: Yuvraj Sandhu

Yuvraj Sandhu, a talented and emerging Professional Golfer, discovered his passion for golf during his early childhood. Backed with strong family support, the Chandigarh-based golfer became India's Number One Amateur Golfer in 2017. He made his professional debut in October 2018 during the Panasonic Open, an Asian Tour Championship conducted at the Delhi Golf Club. Systematic training and persistent hard work have helped him to create a niche for himself by registering two wins. Yuvraj is currently ranked amongst the Top 14 professionals on the PGTI Order of Merit. He wants to be one of the greatest golfers. He has been training with a vision to rub shoulders with the best of players in the 2024 Olympics and be a strong contender for the Gold Medal. Here is a quick interview with our favorite athlete: What was the impact of COVID on your sporting life? And how did you cope with that? Covid has adversely impacted the growth of many golfers especially young professionals like me. When I was peaking with my performance, all the planned tournaments were suspended. Thus, despite having status on the Asian and the Professional Golf Tour of India, I did not get to play an adequate number of tournaments to display my competitive skills and to prove my mettle. It also broke the momentum which a player eagerly looks forward to commencing a winning streak. Notwithstanding all this, I have used this time to recoup, introspect and reorient myself for the ensuing season starting at the end of Aug/ Sep 21. What are the upcoming tournaments which you are targeting? The upcoming target is to do well on the Indian Tour. I am heading to Hyderabad for the 1st tournament post a long wait. I am pretty much excited about commencing the schedule from one of my favorite golf courses. We have 10 tournaments lined up for the time being.A big event is coming up at the end of the year at Tata Nagar i.e.Tata Open, which is a Tour Championship. The International event that I am looking forward to is the European Tour Qualifying School, which will be held on January 22. I hope the travel restrictions will get reduced by then. Status on the European Tour will provide me with greater opportunities to excel and move closer to achieving my long-term goals. How do you feel about Indian golf prospects at the Tokyo Olympics? All the players that qualified for the Tokyo Olympics are renowned and reputed. At a personal level, I know them well. Anirban Lahiri is someone whom I admire and have met him a couple of times while playing on the golf circuit. We share a strong Army-Golfer Bond, so I am really proud of him for representing India for the 2nd time in the Olympics. With his current form, he is definitely one of the contenders.I also have a strong bond with Mane. We have been regularly playing on the Indian Tour. He was my roomie for 10 days when we had gone to play on the Asian Tour last year. He is a go-getter and is highly positive in his approach. Finally, about Aditi. I have played a lot of junior golf with her. After she moved out on the European Tour, we somehow lost contact. Anyway, we do have beautiful memories. I am really proud of each of these players and wish them the best. This time, I have a strong feeling and we can look forward to podium finishes. When do we see you at the Olympics? Well, you can see me at the Paris Olympics in 2024. I am fine-tuning various aspects of my game in close conjunction with, my coach, club fitter, physical trainer, physiotherapist and mental trainer. Next year I am also planning to go to the USA to play some qualifiers for the PGA Tour. This road map will prepare me to be my best version for 2024 Tell us something about your role model professional golfer. My role model in professional golf is none other than Tiger Woods. I have always looked up to him. I practically started playing golf because of him. There are a few things which I relate on a personal level with Tiger because Tiger is an Army kid and his father was somebody who helped him become what he is. I have a similar bond with my father. He pushes me, he tells me to be the best. He gets the best out of me. And also in Tiger's life, where he wasn't the biggest or strongest, but he worked for it and he made sure that he outworked every single player on the field. I feel that I too have that quality of outworking a lot of players and to date, I have kept working on that. I will continue to keep working harder and smarter. I feel the most admirable thing about Tiger is his work ethic. The similarity in work ethics is what helps me to keep pushing myself day after day. I literally live with, “Never Ever Give Up” attitude on my Sleeve. How do you help Grassroot-level golf players? The grass-root level golfers for me are the juniors, amateurs, or people who have just started playing golf and are aspiring to be professional golfers at the National and International levels. At my home club, there are a lot of juniors and amateurs with whom I keep interacting on a regular basis. We do practice together sometimes. I see there are only very few junior golfers who are actually committed and determined to become very good players. I always advise them that professional golf is not a sprint, it's a marathon. You have to be just at it and wait for the results. The results will happen in a matter of time. So, I feel if I can give a piece of advice to a child who is at the age when I started playing golf and walking through what I have done, I feel that I would tell him/her something that makes the child a little bit calmer, a little bit focused on their goal. I think that would really help me and I can say to myself that I helped somebody today. I have also been to my school a few times. I am an Army Public School, Chandimandir Alumni. I have been speaking to the students in their primary years, and have tried to motivate them for playing competitive sports and of course their personal fitness.

  • Sherni - The Roar of Undefeated Tigress- Reviewed By Neel Deshpande

The title describes the story of the film. The story of a forest officer, facing the challenges between personal and professional life. The T12- Tigress is the main target to tranquillized. Amit Mapuskar's direction is worth seeing and the narrative speaks complex. While the screenplay toggles between protagonists and antagonists. The battle Tigress VS Man describes the struggle to keep awake the thought of the Save Tiger movement. The Cinematography is classic and the shots taken are fascinating. It is captured by the camera so well that some of the actions seem to be real. The nature shots mesmerized our eyes to go deep in the beauty of nature. The close shots of insects and greenery are the chuff of "SHERNI". In my opinion, the storyline is basic and could be improvised better to understand the real impact of " Save Tiger ". The impact of Vidya's role could have been better. Also, Sharat Saxena was the character, I feel should not have been given much importance as it looks in the picture. The sound design looks fantastic. The forest creatures sound as well as the rustling of leaves, the shallow water flow through the forest is great to watch. Vidya Balan played the strong role of Forest Officer. It's really remarkable, appreciable role. Keeping a soft tone, balancing between the anger and good work, her voice tones are awful to hear. Her commitment to work and also her staff supporting look decent. Covering the jungle, some thrilling trails of tigress pawn keep reconnecting to the life of this cat family member. Ultimately, the motive of this Mapuskar's creation, to show balancing between the diversity of nature, leaves you to think of conserving forest life more seriously, is satisfied. Overall a thriller, suspenseful and worth watching a movie. If you are a tiger-lover, you should give it a chance to entertain you. You can have a look at the trailer with this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRjEWRNubsQ Feel free to follow the writer of this post on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/_neeldeshpande/

  • Bhagavad Gita: Eternal Wisdom of Life and Life Skills by Dr Sunanda Rathi

Do you know what the crucial moment in Mahabharata was? It was the moment when, in the Kurukshetra war, Arjuna saw his closed ones on the other side as his foes. As he eliminates the people who shared blood relations with him and played paramount roles in his life. Arjuna was in the moral dilemma of how to fight against his people. Lord Krishna recounted different lessons and philosophies to Arjuna during the Kurukshetra war. It was the time when the tables turned. The epic saga of the valuable interaction between Lord Krishna and Arjuna has now become a worldwide phenomenon and known as the Bhagavad Gita. The Bhagavad Gita is a 700-verse Hindu scripture and a crucial part of the epic Mahabharata. But are these the only facts that make the Bhagavad Gita great? The Bhagavad Gita is not just a motivational speech a motivator gave to his lost pupil. It’s the essence of life cleverly outlined and applicable to any and everyone. The lessons and philosophies in the Bhagavad Gita not just encouraged Arjuna to do the right thing, but they also touch various aspects of daily life in today’s time. They shed light on everyday problems and offer solutions for them as well. The Kurukshetra war was not just between the Kauravas and Pandavas. It was a Dharma Yuddha, a Righteous war fought between right and wrong, good and bad, ethical and unethical. It is something that we all struggle to figure out at some point in our life. We all are modern Arjunas fighting modern problems. We fight a war of life every day. Yes, it is a war. Everyone’s war is different and has different intensity. And the Bhagavad Gita gives us lessons on how to fight and win everyday battles. In our current era, we call these lessons- Life Skills. Right now, we are fighting an even bigger enemy- a Pandemic. Not just the COVID-19 virus, but the whole lockdown thing is taking a toll on us. The frustration, depression, stress, tensions, disagreements, emotional fluctuations, and many other negative feelings are growing day by day and making people suffer physically and mentally. These are not the problems that have popped up out of the blue. They were always part of our life. But in current scenarios, the degree of their existence is senselessly increasing. To tackle these problems, we need an enhanced degree of Life Skills. And the Bhagavad Gita extends its sagacity to help us in these times. The Bhagavad Gita is not just a fancy buzzword that revolves only around some Sanskrit Shlokas. It is the ultimate astuteness bestowed upon mankind to realize the truthful nature of divinity and accustom it to our daily lives. Though the teachings drafted in the Gita date back to ancient times, miraculously, they are applied to every era. The Bhagavad Gita is the eternal wisdom of life. What Gita offers is not easily understood by everyone. That’s why Dr Sunanda Rathi, a Yoga Researcher, has initiated a workshop to spread the life lessons from the Bhagavad Gita worldwide.
