  • Ajinkya Rahane- The underrated captain

Ajinkya Rahane has been an integral part of the Indian cricket team for a decade. He has contributed immensely to Men in Blue time and again. He is a great player in swinging balls as well as the spinning ball. His supreme technique, blended with a calm head has helped him notch a hundred in all the SENA countries. He is a leader, a calm headed leader. The literal meaning of "Ajinkya Rahane" in his mother tongue Marathi is "to remain undefeated". Proving his name right, he is yet to be defeated as a captain in Tests. He is one of the only 4 captains for Men in Blue to lead the team in all formats. He enjoys a 100% victory record in ODI as a captain. Furthermore, he has a fabulous captaincy record in Tests. However, despite all this, he is often criticised for his captaincy by few cricket experts and a ton of trollers who hardly follow the game. Rahane captained the Indian test side time for the first time in 2017 against Australia in Dharamshala when Virat was out due to injury. He played crucial knocks and made his debut captaincy special by a victory. A year later, he was named captain for the only test to be played between India and Afghanistan, who were playing their maiden test match, which India comfortably won in 3 days. However, the gesture of Ajinkya won many hearts, as he called the losing team Afghanistan for a photograph with the Indian side as winners of the series. One might argue the advantage of playing in India was the reason for these wins, but not too long ago, he scripted history in Gabba in January 2021. India suffered a humiliating loss after being bowled out for a mere 36 in the second innings of the Adelaide test match, the only match with Virat playing in the side. The cricketing world bashed Men in Blue and few went on to say that Australia would whitewash India. However, Rahane had different plans. In absence of Virat, the jinx took the challenge and led from the front in Melbourne, scoring a magnificent century. His captain innings helped India strongly bounce back in the series with a win. Under his leadership, India went on to pull an unbelievable draw in Sydney in the 3rd test, followed by a historic win in Gabba, breaching the Aussie fortress for the first time in 32 years. It was Rahane's captaincy, which helped the Men in Blue win against the mighty Aussies, with almost 8 of their main players injured and replaced by the youngsters. After almost a year, when he got a chance to lead, he did everything possible for India to win against the Kiwis. Some cricket pundits argued and criticised Rahane for not declaring early. But it was essential for India to bat longer as the same cricket pundits would have criticised him again if early declaration would have gone in the favour of the Black Caps leading to their victory. Also, the cricket pundits are not greater than the coach of the Indian team, Rahul Dravid, the man who had his support for Rahane's decision. There is no denying fact that Jinks is not performing to his full potential when it comes to his batting. But in almost every match, he has done his part by contributing 30-40 odd runs for the team. His contribution to the WTC final was a useful one. In the Lord's victory too, he, along with Pujara established the foundation of Indian batting, which Bumrah and Shami used as a launchpad to attack English bowlers. He threw away the starts which he could have converted into a big hundred, but what mattered was his contribution, which he did. As a batsman who can play swing well, he would have been a boon for India in the T20 world cup 2021, 2019 world cup too. But unfortunately, either due to politics or due to numerous other players coming in the side, everyone has ignored Ajinkya's strike rate and effectiveness in T20's as well as ODI's, allowing him only to play red-ball cricket and calling him a test specialist. And now, people are challenging him as a captain and as a batsman too, without realising the statistics. Ajinkya has won 4 out of 6 matches he played as a captain. The other 2 matches resulted in a draw. He is yet to be defeated in test matches when he led the team. Out of the 6, 4 were played against Australia, and 1 against New Zealand and Afghanistan each. His field placements and rotation of bowlers is great. His calm head assists his decision making in crucial times. Often, his colleagues have termed him a captain under whom they can perform well. And now he was assisted by the man who he adores the most, Rahul Dravid. Although the next match would be led by Virat, Rahane will be playing an important part in it. His contributions in the past have helped the team and would help them in the matches to come. With the performance of Shreyas Iyer, pundits will try to snub Jinks. However, in my opinion, there can be no replacement for Ajinkya Rahane. He is a player who has won India matches and will do it even further. No one knows who will be in the playing eleven for the second test match, but one can only hope for Rahane to be a part of it. Whether he will be there, or not, as a leader, Ajinkya Rahane will be a name that will be termed as unbeaten, just like his name. My views about online School… Online school has been a very different experience for all of us, something we had never thought of before. Also, it was very difficult to adapt to, considering the short time we had. At first, we thought it would allow students to have more free time since everything would be done from home, which is also more convenient than attending school physically. I was proved wrong though. Attending online school, especially during the first month, was almost a nightmare for us, chaotic I‘d say. Student’s would often complain about too much homework due to short amounts of time, and it seemed that they had missed the essence of the school itself, the teacher’s explanation, which made it hard for many students to learn efficiently. Some students admitted that they were doing too much work for nothing because the whole system of sending and receiving information to and from the teacher/student’s wasn’t very effective. Even after a couple of months when we finally started to learn how to use this situation for their benefit, they felt like nothing could replace the real classroom, where they could interact with us (teachers) and with each other, even for the smallest things. All the bad things aside, I would also like to highlight that this whole situation was a great experience from which they learned and discovered new things and skills they didn’t know they had. They could stay safe at home, in their pajamas all day, comfortably and work in the peace of their own house, where the pressure of work felt lighter than in school, Ignoring the fact that their amount of work was tripled. After all, most of them feel fulfilled, because they did their best during online school and gave their best in all the work they were assigned worth it or not. Teachers had a very hard time trying to grade them because they could not know for sure whether they were really studying or just getting their work ready-made. All that aside, if they weren’t staring at screens for long enough before, they had to use technology for every process linked with the school. And from time to time they were missing information or just losing their work among the hundreds of unnecessary messages and photos. Except for the stress caused by the clutters of homework, videos, photos they had to catch up with, they weren’t used to staying locked inside, using zoom to talk to the teachers, at different times of the day, which caused a stressful situation of its own. • Meet CEO & Co-Founder of Orphicy, Vipul Tyagi

Orphicy is the brainchild of four full-time academicians having a cumulative academic experience of more than 50 years. So Team Stay Featured, had an interaction with the CEO & Co-Founder of Orphicy, Vipul Tyagi, Let's read his words Please share about your start-up and how does it help the users? Orphicy is an ed-tech start-up in the K-12 segment. Our pedagogy is built around the Flipped Learning approach which divides the entire learning process into PRE-CLASS, IN-CLASS and POST CLASS Deliverables. We believe that the process of education involves two steps a) One is the basic step of knowledge transfer, which conventionally takes up all the time and energy of a teacher. b) The other more significant and often ignored part is that of conceptualisation of ideas and dialogue with students. Orphicy intends to handle a significant part of the knowledge transfer in the form of pre-class lectures that a student has to watch before he can attend the live lecture. The in-class sessions are reserved for active discussions and activity-based learning. The post-class sessions are enriched with computer-adaptive tests and summary sheets for revision. All of this culminated in better learning outcomes. The design of the curriculum at Orphicy is based on 360 Degree learning. This ensures that the student not only gets to ace his exams but also gets a healthy dose of co-curricular activities. We celebrate each month with a theme-based competition and there are regular soft skills sessions as a part of the curriculum. We can say with pride that an Orphician would stand apart from his/ her peers in terms of communication and presentation skills. Can you give us a brief about the founders and funding received so far? As we all know, Orphicy is the brainchild of four full-time academicians having a cumulative academic experience of more than 50 years. We just completed the first round of our funding in October 2021 where we raised Rs. 2.5 crores at a valuation of Rs. 25 Crores. Tell about various educational modules offered by Orphicy and what age group does it cater to? Orphicy Presently has the following paid full Year study programs a) Orphicy Live: A live online coaching program preparing students for their school curriculum. This program includes 10 hours of lectures every week and the weekends are utilised for Assessments and Cocurricular activities. b) Orphicy Aspire (Science): This weekend program prepares students for NTSE, Maths & Science Olympiads etc. c) Orphicy Aspire (Global): This soon to be launched program would focus on a global curriculum and also prepare students for their SATs d) Orphicy Aspire (Public Sector): A unique weekend programme that acts as a foundation course for students for competitive civil services exams (IAS, week-long IPS) at a very young age. How many students have your startup reached out to and how many students do you plan to connect within the next two years? We presently have 150 paid students registered with us for full-year programs and the number of students who have attended our free programs and are a part of the active Orphicy student community is about 8000. We have just begun our operations and we had launched our live batches only in June. We are sure of reaching a minimum of 4000 paid students enrolled for a full year Orphicy Live/ Aspire offering. Share with us recent developments of your startup and what are your plans? Presently we are running a massive free crash course batch to help us achieve our next academic session’s target for enrolments. We are on a team-building spree and have doubled our employee count in the past three months to 42. We are also collaborating with technology companies like Lead Squared and HRIS etc. to automate the operations at Orphicy. We plan to consolidate our presence in the four states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan & Madhya Pradesh in the coming academic session. After consolidating our presence in these four states we would like to make our presence in the NCR area. How is your EdTech different from other EdTech players in the market? We believe a lot of distance has been travelled in terms of high-quality animated content however not a lot has been achieved in terms of better learning outcomes. Orphicy would like to change that by a model with a high teacher intervention and regular mentoring. We see ourselves differently because of our focus on a 360-degree learning format wherein equal importance is given to extra-curricular activities and personality development. The huge experience of the founders in higher education enables the team to counsel students with the best possible career advice consistent with their SWOT. The first term result of our students has cemented our belief in the system as we have experienced remarkable improvements in their grades. How do you see the startup in the next five years? In the coming five years we would see our organisation adding real value to society in the form of a ‘value for money coaching alternative. The show was hosted by Ms Shikha Chakravarty who is a Transformation Coach, Image Consultant, Public Speaking Coach, Social Media Content Creator and an Honourary Member of Positive Thoughts. Ms Shikha Chakravarty began the session by introducing Positive Thoughts Consulting & Training Solutions. After sharing insight on the mission of Positive Thoughts, she introduced multi-award-winning Motivational Speaker, Life Coach and Social Activist - Dr Gaurav Sharma, the Founder & CEO of Positive Thoughts Consulting & Training Solutions & Co-Founder – 28 Credentials of Entrepreneur, Malaysia and added how he was spreading positivity and building a community of like-minded people filled with motivation and satisfaction, inviting Dr Gaurav Sharma to say a few words. Dr Gaurav Sharma welcomed everyone with his high spirit and thanked the trainer of the eve Ms Monica Dhawan for accepting an invitation to educate the community on the vital subject with special gratitude to Ms Shikha Chakravarty for the wonderful start of the session. Shikha added that why do we need to go for a relationship? This is because that we look forward to supporting, sharing our success and failure and having someone with us in the phases of life. Things sail smoothly in the beginning but as we move ahead the changes within us which used to make us happy, now start bringing us pain. The dishonesty and jealousy start appearing and then there is a lack of communication, We don’t want to understand the perspective of the other person and people are not able to continue but due to societal pressure, they forcefully continue to stay together. 1. How this societal taboo is there in society? 2. How are individuals dealing with it? 3. How much is too much to tolerate? 4. Is it necessary to tolerate? With these questions to the participants, she enthusiastically introduced the Trainer of the eve, Ms Monica Dhawan who is a Transformation Coach talking about change at the individual level helping women to become self-empowered to say NO to toxic relations as well as a social level that sensitizes people to understand the need of the current time. Ms Monica Dhawan started with a quote from a poetry Hindi “Pyar Mein Dard Chhupa Hai, Ya Dard me Pyar, Ye to Sirf unhe hi pata hai jo hain iske shikaar” inviting participants to translate into English for the Global community present in the session. The quote was translated in English by Dr Supriya Kumaravelan as “Is the pain hidden in love, or love is hidden in the pain, the person who is the victim of this can only realize”. She continued with the poem and took the audience on the faces of Pain & Love and Dr Supriya translated the entire poem for the community members. Ms Monica Dhawan tossed a question ‘What is Toxic Relationship’ and answered it as an ‘Entanglement’. She further added that “It is a relationship that one logically knows is not healthy but emotionally still crave for it”. The Psychology of Pain and Pleasure is that your heart says to give your partner another chance and a little more time but your mind states not anymore. There is always a push and pull between mind and heart. She stated an example on Toxic Relation with the ‘Fear of abandonment and Fear of Suffocation’ with a story and said that there was a girl who was either extremely happy or extremely disappointed which means that she was overly emotional and can cry for anything and everything. She had fluctuating mood with no regulation, was quick to apologise as well as very reactive and impulsive and accepts blame on herself for everything. She continued that there was also a Boy who was equally opposed to the girl. He felt that he was the ‘Best’ and life of every party he was a part of. He was handsome, a controlled freak and manipulative. But he hardly said ‘Sorry’ and was highly insensitive with no empathy. They both found themselves as a perfect match for each other. As time passed, what the girl liked about him became her fear that he never said ‘Sorry’ for whatever he did, so he may not respect her and leave her. This is Fear of Abandonment which gradually burst up into her heart, took her to the discomfort zone and she was losing her confidence in him. Simultaneously the guy also felt the ‘Fear of Suffocation’ as the questions raised by the girl in simple conversations now were turning repulsive and the boy starts neglecting her. In toxic relations, people tend to do the opposite of what they should have been doing. These are: -Toxic Communication is blaming/bringing shame to a partner and the partner may get violent or stay quiet. -This quietness is known as Silent Treatment, where one does not value his/her partner and remains silent by controlling behaviour. This is the most dangerous tool than violence as when you don’t bring things out and remain silent, you try to stay away as you do not express that you are upset. This control is not acceptance but ignorance of your partner. -When you start ignorance, you have no empathy towards your partner, you go out and freak with others leading to dishonesty and infidelity. This is cheating with Lies and Betrayal. -When one faces confrontation, one tries to manipulate the situation by playing with the mind of your partner and making her believe that whatever she is thinking is not true but you know that it is. This is called Gaslighting Abuse. She gave classic examples from two Bollywood movies Beta & Drishyam. Gaslighting Abuse is when your partner is manipulating and everybody also says so. One partner in this situation creates a space that is very positive for himself/herself and not so positive for the other. Here one is confronted and feels to move out of relation and approaches the expert for advice. She raised the question that why do people stay in Toxic Relationships and answered that most women don’t walk out of such relations because of financial situations, children and lack of emotional confidence. Our society has majorly set standards for women for everything. Another major reason is Childhood Conditioning from the beginning, a girl child is told that you need to adjust and marriage is a compromise etc. We are never told that marriage is a blessing, marriage is love, marriage is beautiful. Especially in India, we are told that marriage is a limited institute where we lose our freedom. We go low due to our family and relatives mostly. Such relations make a strong impact and people tend to break down emotionally as well as feel a loss of dignity. She ended the session by highlighting a disorder impacting self-confidence, self-esteem and self-worth, characterised by failure to recover after experiencing or witnessing a terrifying event known as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PSTD). This is a disorder that develops in some people who have experienced a shocking, scary, or dangerous event. It is natural to feel afraid during and after a traumatic situation. Such people may have exaggerated reactions as we do not understand the situation they have gone through. In this, the mind starts expecting negative results with fear triggering many split-second changes in the body to help defend against danger or to avoid it. At last, Dr Supriya Kumaravelan (Co-Chair of Positive Thoughts) gave the vote of thanks to Ms Monica Dhawan for giving her precious time on Thunderbolts. The session ended with virtual felicitation by the certificate to the Trainer Ms Monica Dhawan and the Host Ms Shikha Chakravarty. • The most beautiful phase in a woman’s life is when she is blessed with motherhood - Jyoti Parchani

This post was shortlisted by a lot of enthusiastic female participants from a popular Facebook group 'Pari Hoon Main' with joyful administration by Santoshi B Gupta. Team Stay Featured is Extremely thankful to Mrs Santoshi B Gupta for allowing us to be a part of this initiative. If you want to join the group here's the link https://www.facebook.com/groups/338320554015665/?ref=share_group_link I think the most beautiful phase in a woman’s life is when she is blessed with motherhood God has given us this power that we can nurture a life within us and bring it into this beautiful world and like all mothers, I m blessed to experience this magic twice as I am a proud mother of two beautiful girls I always wanted my first child to be a girl but by the grace of Almighty my second child was also a girl Though stereotype society showed sympathy towards me because I couldn’t have a baby boy, I and my husband were immensely happy to have both girls in our lives seeing them grow from nanhi pariyaan to sensible fearless young girls was a mesmerising journey for me as both my girls did a commendable job in studies, sports, and extracurricular activities. Jyoti Parchani , Prakash Parchani , Diya Parchani Krisha Parchani One thing that was restricting my joy was that both my girls were and are overweight, it’s genetic & I use to be obese earlier but now I have lost 22 kg weight. But when my girls were too young I realised that they are stepping back when it came to participating in any activity or competition nor do they were very keen to socialise I went through the reason behind this passive behaviour and was depressed to hear that in school & tuition they were becoming a victim of body-shaming and were teased as ‘ Moti ‘ haathi ‘ etc but then I gathered my strength and talked to my elder daughter Diya when she was in 7th Std and I kept trying for months to make her understand that you have to show these people that your capabilities are above all the physical judgments it was a tough task but I didn’t give up and as a result, my elder daughter started gaining confidence and showed remarkable performances in different fields. She won medals in cricket and other sports. Her academic result improved seeing her younger daughter also started taking interest in all the activities. My elder daughter in her college enrolled for an international program named Xculture where she had to work as a team with 7 different students from 7 different countries with different languages but she qualified with flying colours. Thousands of students across the globe participated and she was among the first few who succeed and was also approached for coaching other students for the same program which she had joined as a student, this was her biggest achievement and after then she kept moving ahead and followed her my younger daughter, this was the most satisfying thing to me as a mother. Now my elder daughter Diya Parchani is a professional digital marketer and my younger daughter Krisha Parchani is a professional nail artist and is pursuing her BBA first year. I am Jyoti Parchani now enjoying all the love, pamper, and attention from my beautiful Paris they encourage me to participate in different contests put their efforts to make me win those contests. They have motivated me to write this article I feel super blessed to have them both in my life. I urge society, never judge an individual by his or her physical appearance- You never know what they are capable of!

  • 3 parameters that matter to be good at your work by Arunima Jha

"You must be the change you want to see in the world." - Mahatma Gandhi For me being a lawyer entails speaking the truth. You cannot sugarcoat the situation, you need to maintain transparency, trust your gut and be a lot more open in your approach towards your Clients. I have learned that broadly three parameters matter to be good at your work: 1) Belief - Belief in yourself. Believe that you can do things that you might not even be aware of. Our beliefs, both conscious and unconscious, can have a profound impact on our entire life trajectory. 2) Intuition - Trusting your intuition means tuning in as deeply as you can to the energy you feel, following that energy moment to moment, trusting that it will lead you where you want to go and bring you everything you desire. 3) Ability - Ability to take action on your intuition - Sometimes we all are so scared of acting on our intuition that we do not act on it. Also, sometimes having that mentor, having that one person who believes in you even when you don't believe in yourself is really important. It's all about being a source of good and positivity in the world. No matter what is it that you're doing, you need to stay grounded and be kind. You may feel small and inconsequential but remember the raindrops creates the ocean and the ocean creates the waves. That's important because there is a lot of darkness out there. Sometimes people ask me why can't just be a lawyer? Why always look to do other things? Now, I do not know the exact reason but my work gives me the language to answer the question about who I am. That's affirming and that encourages me to do things that I do. For me, I always understand things in retrospect but not at the moment. When every dot connects, I feel divinely inspired about sharing my story. Always look back and you would realize how everything comes together. Perhaps you may feel vulnerable sharing about your crisis but when you're engaging with an audience you need to remember that you're not just your success but you're all of your struggles, failures, problems & crisis that comes along your way. The struggles, the challenges, and the failures are truly gifts for me to help me qualify to help others. The rags to riches stories are inspiring but what about the element of struggles? For example, "feeling that you're not good enough" in my case. I want to give voice to those people who feel this way. I think a vast majority of people are living passenger seat life, while life is happening to them. For me, I believe we are the co-creators of our lives, and it's important to get control of your life, that's when things start changing for you. When you start realizing that you're here for a purpose and start making active choices, it's game on! Everything becomes so much fun. One such team man who played for Men in Blue celebrated every occasion, be it a wicket taken by his team’s bowler, or a half-century by his colleagues like his own. The electric man, Suresh Raina turns 35 today. The first player to score a hundred in all the formats for India is also one of the finest fielders in the history of Indian cricket. Author:- Ashwin Jangam (Cricket Analyst, host, poet, entertainer ) Insta I'd:- cricket_creativity The southpaw, a son of a military person was born in Muradnagar, Uttar Pradesh. He shifted to Lucknow to hone his skills. His talent was evident right from the beginning, due to which at the mere age of 15, he was selected for the India U-19 team. He got selected in Ranji trophy for Uttar Pradesh soon, and his performance in the domestic circuit earned him the maiden India call-up. Only a few players like MS Dhoni and can bounce back after a horrid debut. Both of them were out on a golden duck on their debut but went on to contribute immensely to Indian cricket. Suresh credits the then skipper Rahul Dravid and Irfan Pathan who motivated him to field better in the second half of the game where he was disappointed with poor batting display. Eventually, he continued the legacy to motivate others in the team time and again. It took 3 years for his maiden ODI century, which he scored in 2008, but the southpaw reached his first 3-digit score right in his debut test in 2010 which happened in Colombo. In the same year, he scored a century in a T20 international against South Africa, becoming the first Indian to score a century in all the formats of the game. He also played a crucial role in the 2011 world cup quarter-final against Australia and semi-final against Pakistan. Courtesy : ESPN Cric Info Along with international cricket, Suresh is a very special player for Chennai Super Kings. His contribution to the Men in Yellow is immense along with the likes of MS Dhoni. He has time and again won matches for the most consistent franchise in IPL. A lot of his innings have come in winning cause, but his most special innings was the one that came in a losing cause. The world witnessed his innings of 87 off 25 balls in the semi-final of IPL 2014, where he mercilessly led the onslaught on Kings XI Punjab bowlers. He was almost on the verge to break Chris Gayle’s record of the fastest century but was unfortunately run out by George Bailey. His contribution to the Chennai franchise has earned him a lot of fans. “Chinna Thala” as he is referred to by the Whistle Podu fans, is a term that shows his popularity and love from the fans. This term he cherishes a lot says is the best compliment he received ever and will always be special for him till he lives. Popular as a batter, he also enjoys a fan following for his fielding. His saves at cover and point region have motivated many other young budding players to increase their level of fielding. Harleen Deol, the superwoman who took one of the finest catches in the history of women’s cricket, says Suresh Raina is her inspiration. The very charming Raina is loved for his fun-loving and gentlemen nature as well. His teammates love him for his constant support to them. I once witnessed a match live in the stadium where after every ball, the ever-enthusiastic Raina went to pat the back of the fielder who saved the runs. Every Indian loves him, and he loves MS Dhoni from his heart and soul. His love for the legend was visible when he announced immediate retirement from International cricket minutes after Dhoni retired from international cricket on 15th August 2020. Raina’s retirement was a shock to the cricketing world, as he was just 33 years of age when he announced it. He continues to serve Chennai Super Kings and will continue to do so for a few more years to come. His inside out lofted shot over covers is a treat to watch even today. Whenever the name Suresh Raina will pop up in one’s mind, one will remember a calm composed gentleman, a classy batsman, a superb fielder, a constant motivator, a man having almost no haters and the complete team man serving his country to the fullest. I, on behalf of Team Stay featured wish him a very happy birthday.

  • The resurrection of Shreyas Iyer

Cricket is a game of patience. Test cricket in particular is the format that tests the real skills of a player. It is therefore a dream of every person who plays cricket to represent their country in the longest and the oldest format of the game. Representing the country in these whites is a matter of pride for cricketers. Author:- Ashwin Jangam (Cricket Analyst, host, poet, entertainer ) Insta I'd:- cricket_creativity The moment of pride was witnessed by the future star of Indian cricket, Shreyas Iyer, and he celebrated the moment by scoring a century, giving a billion people reason to celebrate. He joined the elite list of players notching their hundred on their debut, becoming the 16th Indian to do so. His debut for Men in Blue came early, but his wait for red-ball cricket was a little long. His father, Santosh Iyer, is the truest fan of test cricket and kept his phone display picture as Shreyas disguised in whites to constantly remind him of the ultimate dream, yet unachieved. One can only imagine his happiness of his ward achieving a unique feat. Iyer raised eyeballs for the first time in 2015 IPL when he was bought for INR 2.6 crores by Delhi Daredevils. The amount was the highest for any uncapped player till then. But he proved his class right in the first season scoring a mammoth total of 439 runs in the season, winning the award of Emerging Player of the tournament. He never looked back since then. His consistent performances in the India A tours earned him the India call in 2017 October. He scored 88 off 70 balls the first time he got to bat in an ODI. His spot in the team was not fixed though. After doing a lot of experiments, eventually, Vijay Shankar was selected in the world cup 2019 squad ahead of Shreyas and Rayudu. But after Iyer’s first century in 2019 December, he almost sealed his spot for the no 4 in the Indian team permanently. His consistent performances helped Men in Blue to victory more often. He was also handed the captaincy of Delhi Capitals which he effectively did. He was also looked like the future star of Indian cricket, and a player to watch for the future as the captain of Men in Blue. But, on 23rd March 2021, he dislocated his shoulder trying to field the ball in Pune ODI against England. Due to injury, he missed the entire IPL and was replaced by Rishabh Pant who led Delhi Capitals. Furthermore, he was dropped from the Indian side and replaced by other players. The consistent performances of Surya, Ishan made it difficult for Shreyas to return to the side. He joined the half of the second half of IPL as a player but was not selected in the main squad of the T20 world cup 2021. Even though he was in as a reserve player in the side, it was not worth his potential. Fortunately, he was selected in the Indian squad for the Test series against New Zealand. In absence of Virat Kohli, Iyer was selected for playing at the spot no 5. He grabbed the opportunity with both his hands. Starting his innings with skipper Rahane, both stitched a good partnership. After the latter’s wicket, the former played with Jadeja and displayed his array of shots, and the duo played for the remainder of the day to help India post a decent total of 258/4, with Shreyas not out on 75. In the first session of the second day, he finished his hundred against a swinging duo of Southee and Jamieson. He accomplished the dream of his father. Watching Shreyas bat in white-ball cricket is a habit of Indians, but very few knew his ability to play red-ball cricket. His statistics in domestic cricket prove his dominance in test matches. He also had noteworthy performances playing red-ball cricket for India A. His double hundred against the Aussies in a practice match in Mumbai was one of his best innings. In a nutshell, Iyer has proved himself as a test player right in his first match. He definitely will be a player to watch for Indian cricket in white-ball- cricket, but will he gets a chance in red-ball cricket for Indian, only time will tell. We can just hope he gets another chance once Virat comes again in the squad.

Love with Indomitable Courage can help you face and overcome every adversity I was born the day I chose to give birth to my daughter . A message I am conveying through my story covered by HumansofMumbai Also taking the opportunity to thank everyone who has touched our lives for all the Love support and prayers “I got divorced at 21. Being a polio patient & a dark-skinned girl, I faced discrimination by society...even from my husband. And so after 2 years, I left. While fighting for my rights, I met a man who promised me the world & allured me with the idea of a family; I was 24. He didn’t care about my polio or dark skin. He even asked me to move with him to Gurgaon. But moving cities was scary. When he assured me that he’d make me meet his parents & even marry me in a temple ceremony–I agreed. But we never legally married… that should have been my red flag. 2 months after, I found out I was pregnant. At first, we panicked, but then together, we decided to abort. But when the doctor said, ‘Aborting this child means complications in the future,’ I asked him, ‘Let’s make this legal?’ He agreed & we went to visit his parents. But they said, ‘Abortion karwa lo.’ When I didn’t relent they said, ‘Aisi ladki se shaadi nahi kara sakte.’ I was shocked! But what surprised me more was him too insisting I get an abortion! I was enraged. Without anyone’s support, I was fighting for something 2 people were responsible for. With my disability, I didn’t think I could take care of the baby. So, I went to the police station, but there, they called me ‘bachhalan’. I came to Pune & filed a case against him. An NGO took me in & helped me become independent. During my pregnancy, I fought the case. In between, I even welcomed baby Edah into the world! When I held her, I knew we were enough! 9 months after Edah’s birth, I won the case! Still, I chose to walk away from the alimony; Edah & I didn’t need negativity in our lives. Meanwhile, I started catering dabbas to provide for us. And 7 years later, we moved to Dubai; I got a great work opportunity! There, I also met my now-husband, Lakshmi! He worked through with me on my trust issues & bonded with Edah! At 33, I’d found someone who loved & respected me! Today, 13 years later, I have got for the family I wished for I’m a mom to 2 beautiful kids & the wife to the most loving man! I’m glad that despite being wronged several times, the 30-year-old Preet decided to march on! She now has the life she deserved from the beginning!” Now I took up parasports at the age of 44, as a shotputter preparing for Paralympics. See you soon with new aims, goals. Have great positivity ahead

DARSHAN PATEL Excellent and vibrant start of the event by the lively and cheerful FAHMIDA MOHAMED. She was the gardener of this ‘ARABICA COFFEE BLOOMS - SESSION NO. -26 who delicately watered the seedling sowed by DR. GAURAV SHARMA with her amazingly outflow of questions that were the conditions for the show to bloom with an audience strength of scoring a century. It was an inspiring start by Mr Darshan Patel by paying obeisance to the two years of relationship. He stressed the rational thinking capabilities of every person by imbibing virtues of empathy and compassion. Laying the foundation of humanity in relationships that will make everyone’s life positive. His emphasis is more on the change that is needed to be started from first ourselves. Embracing the journey of MR. DARSHAN PATEL- How technology can benefit humans? There needs to be a screen time violation. It’s like a king being addicted to killing without a purpose. Such an amazing example to light the darkest night. He further demonstrated an example – There is air in the water, when we drink the water- is the glass empty? NO. – There is air in the glass. In the same way, to pull out air from the glass, we need to boil something and put it in the glass. This way attention needs to be diverted away from the screen. Limitations need to be set firmly. Divide your time among yourself, your happiness and some left over time to be given to others. The beauty lies when positivity is spread in different ways that lay the foundation of healthy relationships. There’s a great need for technology to be used constructively. The “C” capsules of sharing and learning that create healthy relationship channels according to him are -COLLABORATION AND CO-OPERATION. Adopt the NON -COMPETENCY MODE. His motto is ‘SHARE, SHARE AND SHARE “. He has empowered 3000 people at DIRECTOR LEVELS, CEO LEVELS AND HIGHLY placed professionals where real empowerment has taken place. Adopt and encourage the formula of ‘LEARNING BY SHARING’. These wisdom teachings were appreciated by Dr Fahmida that highlighted Darshan Patel’s – VOICE, DEDICATION AND PASSION. His talks were mostly on the exclusion of a huge range of people over social media platforms. Usage of constructive and productive use of mind and time that will lead to connection through mainstream communication. His vision of ratio 30:30:30 in every aspect of life from full life needs to be diverted to different categories. PROS AND CONS OF TECHNOLOGY ACCORDING TO HIM: We all are doing definite digital connectivity or divide. Technology being used in the wrong ways needs to be curbed and avoided. There is a great need to lead from the forefront and lead the group by creating a change to see the change. He further laid an emphasis that teachers are being empowered and a connection was being reconnected again through the mainstream media and are fabulously seem to be doing good. It is needed to be used in an underprivileged sector in a better way, empowered in a better and healthier learning way. He laid importance on one live session where 200 speakers attended a live event. Country makers and empowerment gurus are being created. There is still a long way to go ahead and a large contribution is needed to be made. EMPOWERING THE AVENUES OF PEDAGOGY- GROWTH AND EMPOWERMENT. Teachers and future leaders will be born now. Investing their time and energy, marketing themselves in a better way that will upscale the salary of teachers on par with the IT sector. Implementation of the right skills, good command of the English language, communication, presentation etc. can fetch more accolades and appreciation. Online assessments to be given to children to perform better, will lead to a different learning module. Identification of talents, make it available online. Presentations, credentials, online accessibility, short videos, use of EDUTECH – to upskill themselves will give rise to a complete enterprise. FUTURE LEADERS - Exponential rise has taken place in corporate sectors. There has been a resignation boom or wave post covid that highlights that something certain is needed to be done at the grassroots level rather than focussing on the uncertain. CRYPTO is playing a big part and his main area of concern is the negative impacts on the youngsters. The primary focus should be that they should be made aware and to curb its misuse. The secondary focus is they need to shed their inhibitions, accept challenges as victory capsules- do whatever makes you happy. Have a collaborative mindset, be humble, be approachable -Opportunity is all around you -seize them. RISE, SCALE AND CREATE A PERSONAL BRAND. HIS “CIRCUMFEEL AGENCIES” - PURPOSE. Giving back to society in any possible way. The “Let’s give back to the society” foundation was created in 2019, where meetings were conducted once a week on zoom. Starting with six people in the beginning- A LINKEDIN PROFILE was created. CORE OBJECTIVES - Transparency, Non -competency, conducting sessions, encouraging everyone equally. People were given participation and were privileged to be a part of this much-honoured contribution to society. Collaboration, humanity perspective was simplified and made more meaningful. His core right-hand contributor is RAJIV KHANDA which made this association one big family where healthy and constructive criticism was given importance. LONG TERM LOSSES – SHORT TERM METER GOALS. TIPS TO HELP PEOPLE IN SOCIETY -According to him networking is different for every different person. Make a connection with every TOM, DICK AND HARRY. Have a healthy network, concentrate on admissions, targets, and aims. The core area of attention is to be on such people where time is the biggest constraint for all to achieve such a target. HUMANITY, RELATIONSHIPS AND POSITIVITY ARE THE - CONNECTION TARGETS. Facebook has become a most treasured media platform. There is no size and no thumb rule application. Priority and Time are the most treasured jewels that are needed to be constructively and productively used. HIS TAKE ON DR. GAURAV SHARMA - He is proceeding in the right direction. His efforts are in the fertile ground where the entire learning and sharing community is one ground. His “POSITIVE THOUGHTS” platform is a seed and is getting ready. We need to water it to help it sprout healthily by the right community members to set the right expectations on the right kind of community bearers. When you make your glass empty you have a chance to pour it. THE LAST SIP OF COFFEE TAKES US TO HIS TRANSFORMATION JOURNEY – EFFORTS - Inputs and learning to the community that is his vision of the community. It needs to be person-centric rather than gender centric. Members to be mindful to create a global healthy community. HIS MOTIVATORS IN LIFE - Ritual pooja routines every morning when he is in a normal mood. In a neutral phase, he is a Stabilizing Leader – His words have guided him efficiently. POSITIVE THOUGHTS CONSULTING & TRAINING SOLUTIONS presents the third episode of its Panel Discussion named “POSITIVE CONVERSE CHAPTER-3” on 21ST NOV,21, 6:00 PM IST through ZOOM as well as showcased on “FACEBOOK LIVE” on the official page of “POSITIVE THOUGHTS”. “Positive Thoughts Family” is a Global community from PAN India and almost 45 Worldwide countries, on a mission to learn, connect, share, and bridge the gap between Brands/Organizations/Nations and work on the Mission of Empowerment for” STRESS-FREE EDUCATION & LIFE.” It was started by the introduction of “Dr Gaurav Sharma” who is a well known and respected Multi-Award Winning Motivational Speaker, Life Coach & Social Activist. Founder & CEO, Positive Thoughts Consulting & Training Solutions. Co-Founder, 28 Credentials of Entrepreneur, Malaysia. This Elite Executive community is for all the like-minded positive Speakers, Trainers, Coaches, Educators, Healers, Authors and Entrepreneurs from all across the globe, who wants to Share, Inspire, and help each other to grow their successes together by empowering one another. 3rd session of POSITIVE CONVERSE by Positive Thoughts was an incredible, insightful, informative, interesting and houseful blockbuster session with participation from all across the globe on the topic -SUBSTANCE USE AMONG YOUTH. This session has provided an in-depth about the stigma and assumptions about youth substance use as well as the impact on brain development, psychological, social and emotional development and risk factors. Primary and secondary prevention strategies are discussed as well as their application. The MASTER OF CEREMONY was two dynamic ladies - Ms Neha Srivastava- Soft Skill Trainer, Story Teller, Parenting Coach, Promotion Manager of Positive Thoughts and Ms Nidhi Behl Vats- Founder of Story of Souls, PR Expert, Influencer, Story Curator, Content Strategist. The discussion was started with the first speaker, Ms Riddhi Doshi Patel. She is a qualified Child Psychologist, 3x TEDx Speaker and Advisor to 16 TED-Ed Clubs. She is the recipient of multiple awards including the National Award and Young Entrepreneur Award. She is the Founder of LAJA. She is also a qualified Trainer and has conducted Training Programs for Corporate, Individuals, Educational Institutes and NGOs. According to her before we talk about the subject we have to understand the reason behind consumption and why. She explained that most of the children who are constantly compared or has a broken family are the victim of substance abuse as they look for relief or temporarily solution for their situation. Sometimes they are not even accepted by their family and peer group. She quoted many examples from her experiences explaining the above point like she was being approached by a 17 years old child along with her mother, according to her mother the child has a trust issue with a family member, bad food habits don’t meet or interact with anyone from his family and stays isolated most of the time. After lots of consultation, he opened about the reason for him taking the substance and the reason behind his behaviour was his father. As he was a marathon runner and same was expected from the son and of late he was forced to participate and was expected to stand first but unfortunately in class 2nd he participate in a race and lost it when he was back home and told his father. His father replied that he was a hopeless child. This tag got associated with his upbringing till age 17 even though he was a multimillionaire and have developed two mobile apps and sold it to an IT company. He was made to believe that he is hopeless and for him the easiest way to feel better was substance. Another reason which she explained was there are times when parents say it’s ok to try and experiment with everything but actually it’s not ok explaining, she sighted an example of a 12-year-old who wanted to host a hookah party at home which alarmed the parents then they consulted him, when she spoke with the child she got to know he was consuming it from the age 9 along with her sister who was 20 years old at that point of time and into party culture. The parents had no information about it, so at last, she left us with the question to ponder as a parent that is mindful about raising our child and be enough aware or alert about our child. Then our master of the ceremony has concluded the session of Ms Riddhi raising questions about correct parenting. The second speaker Dr Tamilarasi - Naturopathy physician and post-graduation in emergency medicine and pursuing a fellowship in clinical research gave rich insights on the impact of substance use in the youth and the solutions to address this problem. She is a supportive care Oncologist, Ozone Therapist, Chelation Therapist, NLP Practitioner, Genetic Brain Profiling Consultant, Handwriting Analyst. She is the first Intern Doctor from Indian medicine to step into the COVID ward with an experience of touching 93487 covid lives. She has done a few types of research on covid and pregnancy, covid and food, research on Nada Yoga. Dr Tamilarasi said Youth is the Leaders of the nation and as such there are no unresourceful people only unresourceful situations or the environment which is the major reason for the youth getting misdirected. At 11 / 12 yrs of age, the brain goes through a process wherein it is - Use it or lose it, so when these substances enter their body it impacts their prefrontal cortex – taking them in a world of delusion and suppression. All teen brains are like cars – with accelerators and no breaks on a mad rush to attract and entice the opposite sex. Due to pressure also get into this habit. She emphasised how the mind of the youth is wired to give in to addiction, any new information which gives pleasure creates a memory that preserves tempting a child to do it repeatedly. Major organs like liver/kidney / get affected due to the consumption of substances like alcohol/ drugs/ cigarettes etc. The solution is - Acceptance of the child, the situation and explanation to the child about what to do and not, What not to do. The unconscious mind will not process the word not, so explain what to do and why to do it. She threw light on the importance of Acceptance as the primary cure. We have a biological clock / a circadian rhythm which needs to be used to help the child to break this habit. Empower the child, everything starts from the psychic phase, show the way of differentiation, start an action and leave it in middle –voluntarily breaking it drives the youth to revive that action - were some of the tips given by her. She also spoke about how we can detoxify by - encouraging them to adopt their hobby, sweat out with nature/sun, mild walk during sunrise or sunset will help them to get clarity about themselves. Certain Patterns in yoga-like – Swadhyaya etc. encourage the youth to Surrender to the things they love. Ayurveda talks about the Unity of disease and cure -Reason will eliminate the disease- use that tool. During adolescence, if indulging in substance use – hormones get disrupted and they become violent/abusive, develop a sense of “I am the power”. They go into dependency disorders mode due to this addiction. Positivity, warmth, love, care and unconditional acceptance are the interventions and solutions. She strongly recommended the book “Why do they act the way they do “- a book by David Walsh to get further insights and a must-read for all parents. Next speaker was Ms. Tejal Vasa. She is the founder at Spirits of Life Training Consultants, Motivational Speaker, NLP practitioner, Corporate & Educational Consultant, Psychologist and Executive Vice President at Humanity First Foundation. She spoke about her observation about substance use among youth, according to her they want to feel freedom or want to seek attention or acknowledgement from society, parents or peer groups as the awareness is lacking among youth. When they consume substance the high or the kick which they get make them feel important. She shared that when she takes seminars in the college or school observed that the children mostly who are into substance abuse are those, whose parents don’t have time for them. They get dependent on the company they get into or friend circle so she suggested that parents need to pay attention to their daily routine and take responsibility for the child. It’s important to give them proper time and make them aware of the side effect by giving them actual examples around them to give a better understanding. She also suggested there should be an awareness program in the school and college. The next speaker was Dr. (Prof.) Regunath Parakkal - Consultant – Counselling (Psychology), World Book of Records, London Record Holder, Former Prime Minister & Chief Minister Awardee, Featured in Times Square, New York, USA. He opened his session with a rhetorical question to the audience which set everyone thinking – Who is responsible for the prevalent use and abuse of drugs in society? He believes that along with other factors, the Media is also responsible for exposing and sensationalising incidents – egging adolescents to explore these substances. He feels teenagers are not to be blamed, anything projected in social media is tried by youth. According to John Hopkins University, the Safest country during Covid is India. But ironically the mind of teenagers works on reverse psychology – saying NO attracts them to use it – negative propaganda can create an enigma and intrigue for teenagers towards these substances. Once trapped they can sacrifice/forgo everything – but to come back is tough for them. He feels Prevention is always good. Certain measures are needed in the Education policy like peer-group education, talks about the bad effects of drugs/alcohol etc. It is imperative to pass this message to the youth. Moral education/ Emotional quotient / mental health of students is very important, is as important as academic education. He suggested that parents need to balance their time to wean children from screen time or limit their screen time. The next speaker was Ms Kanika Manish Chopra – IIT Alumni, Working with MNC, Founder of Ek Boond NGO. She vehemently opened that not living in joint families is a miss, it is the moral responsibility of parents to inculcate values. The best method is not lecturing but to explain – grief – we need to work on the psychology of a child. She believes that children also give us strength, So we need to inculcate moral values at a nascent stage - share “why and how” of life. Substance abuse is affecting our society. According to her, the solution is to keep connecting with children – we all want the best, so it is of prime importance to have the right connection – to the depth – never enforce your dreams on them. She shared some startling facts that there is a manifold increase in the number of college students engaging in this. We have to create the difference / set an example/talk about solutions, not problems. She feels that a forum is needed to deliberate and discuss the root cause – always be an example to your students/children. Some valuable insights given by her are -Strike a balance – spend time / engage with your children at the right level. The current pandemic has increased depression leading to increased substance abuse. Other detrimental factors are Peer pressure –lack of companionship, silence on sex education, etc. This issue needs to have awareness, we need to work as a family Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam –talk and connect – create a positive ambience around us. The mantra is to spend time with children, talk to them at the right time, engage in more physical activity and connect them with nature and the environment. The discussion comes to an end with the last speaker for the day, Ms Pooja Bose, Who is an Enthusiastic Principal at The High Range School with a passion for academic and students development and a history of success in developing effective strategies to overreach curriculum goals. Accomplished in aligning academic and instructional visions, and working in conjunction with professionals, paraprofessionals, and administrative staff to establish and maintain high-reaching standards. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to capitalize on emerging instructional technologies to enrich lesson plans and instruction. She started with an appreciation for her Co-Speakers to change her perception. Bring to our notice that the substance or any addiction becomes abuse when it started harming our body and affecting our surroundings. The common element to stop it is parental support. We are in the 21st century, can't shut our eyes to the kind of competition, constant comparison. The presence of economic burden and presence of loneliness is present in our society and we need to prepare our child according to the time when both of the parents are working and the child doesn’t have a proper support system at home which leads to many problems like anxiety, depression and also socio disorder trouble what we need is a two-pronged approach which means prevention and intervention both are important. When we talk about prevention during the covid time the depression among youth and adolescence has increased from 11% to 40% and the reason we all know. We also have to understand that the parents are working, there has to be a support system or mechanism in the family. Who can support them emotionally and physically? is Each area is important for the child. we have to educate the child and replace the screen time with some extra curriculum activities or recreation activities or laughter, anything. The adolescence is scared of making new friends and reaching to people due to which thousands and thousands of Facebook friends become important leads to anxiety-like if you post a picture You look for more and more likes as ur looking for validation from them this has become an addiction and leads to dependency on chemical or gadgets or anything which give them relief. She added that there was a time when father and son drinking was taboo but it’s no more now, we see family members sitting together in a safe environment draining instead of some farmhouse or some isolated place. She shared some facts like it's more among boys than girls. It’s not just in an urban area but in rural, towns and suburbs as well. It’s an epidemic now. It’s the loneliness that adds to it and they become vulnerable to these substances. We need to build a support system like grandparents, friends, and cousins to fill up this vacuum. She concluded with a note that we also need to talk about rehabilitation as well which is very important as the wealthy people have 5-star types rehabilitation centres but there are still trillions of children which are a middle-income group or lower-income groups which have no support as we don’t have any such centre by the government or any governing agency. We need to talk about the cure. We need to answer and also think about these questions. M of the Panel Discussion, Ms Nidhi Behl shared her views that we need not confine to yourselves but need to talk about it with our family members or friends or the parties or kitty parties we go to as nobody talks about these issues but as a society to balance everything we need to discuss and find solutions together. Both the moderator gave their gratitude to Dr Gaurav Sharma to take up this topic. Ms Neha Srivastava came up with some interesting games during the session like tongue twister, riddles, memory game colour test, in which all guests and the audience participated with full enthusiasm. The event was coordinated by Dr Supriya Kumaravelan (Co-chair of Positive Thoughts). Towards the end, Dr Supriya Kumaravelan gave the vote of thanks by mentioning that she's so grateful to all the speakers for sharing so many insights and giving their precious time. She shared her advice that we need to trust our children and we have to be friends with them. She was overwhelmed by the moderators, who has taken the show to another level. At last Guest and Moderator, were virtually facilitated by certification.
