  • A fortress to breach : New Zealand

For Indians, cricket is not just a game, it's a feeling like none other. Result of which the ICC events are celebrated like festivals by a billion cricket crazy fans. The T20 world cup is not an exception to this. Every single person from the subcontinent was eager to see India taking the arch-rivals Pakistan, against whom they had a sublime record of 12-0 in world cups. It was a heartbreak for Indians when the Pakistan team broke India's winning streak. But it is not Pakistan that has troubled Men in Blue in ICC events, it is neither Australia. The team which India has had difficulty facing in the ICC events in New Zealand. Author:- Ashwin Jangam (Cricket Analyst, host, poet, entertainer) Insta I'd:- cricket_creativity The Blackcaps have always had an upper hand in their clash against India in ICC events. Their dominance can be seen in the fact that they never let India win an ICC event game after the 2003 world cup. The last time India beat New Zealand, none of the players of the current team was above 15 years of age. The Kiwi upper hand denied the table-toppers India a place in the 2019 world cup final. Their dominating performance made them lift the World Test Championship against India in a rain-affected match which hardly lasted was played for 3 days overall. The 2007 world cup champions India defeated all the teams in the tournament but lost to Kiwis by 10 runs. Time and again, New Zealand has proved to be better amongst the rivalry between Men in Blue and Black Caps. It is not their brutal bowling or their sensational batting which results in their victory. It is the discipline they follow which wins them matches consistently. Kiwis follow the basics of the game more than any cricket playing nation, making them one of the toughest opponents. You'll hardly see any Kiwi bowler bowl targetting line other than the 4th stump. Also, as a batting unit, Kiwis have improved tremendously under the leadership of Kane Williamson. The Men in Black were never short of power hitters, but the new era under Kane has increased their batters playing by the book. This is why, it will be exciting to see the encounter between Men in Blue led by the aggressive captain Virat Kohli, and Men in black led by the calm Kane Williamson yet again. The game will be almost like a knockout for both teams. Both the teams that have lost their first match to Pakistan are in a position where they cannot afford to lose another match. The rise of Afghanistan is also a concern for both the teams who will put all their energy into the match happening today evening. courtesy : Times of India Although the statistics are in favour of New Zealand, Kohli and his men are raring to go and step up to the expectations of a billion people. Just like Pakistan breaking India's winning streak against them, Men in Blue would love to break New Zealand's winning streak and would like to avenge the 2019 semifinal and WTC final. With Trent Boult leading the attack for Black Caps, India can expect a fiery spell from him like Shaheen Afridi but would expect the top order to fire unlike Pakistan encounter and the 2019 world cup semifinal. The likes of Lockie Ferguson would try to make the life of Indian batters difficult. Furthermore, Mitchell santner will surely make use of Spin friendly pitches. It would be exciting to see the approach of India. And in almost a do or die encounter for both the world-class teams, it won't be a surprise to see the match going till the last overs. Also, toss would play a very important role in the result of the match. If India bats first, things could get a little difficult for them. One would hope Virat to break his toss losing streak to ensure New Zealand is put to bat first. Whether India will create history to break New Zealand's winning streak, or the winning steak of Black Caps will continue, only time will tell. But one thing every cricket fan can be sure of is to see an amazing contest between the two world-class teams led by the two best batsmen in the world.

  • Slaying briefs and meeting your goals: Linkedin Feed From Arunima Jha

Advice for me means - putting the cart before the horse. I believe each person is different, hence their motivation is also different. Therefore, I don't advise on what one should opt for specifically as a career choice but yeah, if you're unhappy with what you're doing currently, then my advice to you will be that you need to choose between spending your time on things which makes you happy. Since, I am a lawyer and a blogger both, while law excites me, learning about people management skills is something that I like to focus more on. I don't like to dabble on everything, therefore I focus on project management specifically and that is something that has helped me on the work front. Also, shifting from a time model to a project model working style helps. You have to be flexible and understand why you're doing a particular project? Even if that means you have to spend those extra hours sometimes. That's my mantra for my work and that is what pushes me to do my work more effectively. Being a lawyer & a blogger both gives me more choice and the confidence to do what I do. While I continue my law practice, pitching to businesses (leaders; rather than going through gatekeepers) & still allows me the option to have control over my writing. I am willing to put in the time, energy and extra efforts which are required to build on the knowledge base. Writing is good but putting in the work is fulfilling. Sometimes, it also gets frustrating when you do all the right work but there seem to be limitations. I also like to help my friends with their projects and for free. Sometimes, I feel I learn more from working for free than when I charge a fee for my services. It's about being intuitive rather than following the traditional approach. You need to see and decide what works for you. Put in the hard work and determination. I have started with setting up quarterly goals and working upon those. So at the end of the quarter, I can sit and analyze my growth. You need to enjoy your work for sure but it has a greater spend been helpful in my case. There's a whole spectrum about experimenting with innovation, it's harder than what you think it would be, in some ways it might even be tedious but it has helped me to learn a lot of things. It's like a deposition preparation, you need to be articulate with your ideas. I wouldn't have anticipated many of the processes or skills in general which are related to my law practice but writing has helped me feel more confident in the legal arena. It's about your writing styles. I feel my style is more conversational but the more I write, I develop better communication skills. There's an implied fear that the whole idea might not work even after having greater spends but that's alright as long as you're comfortable with the process. • The Queen of Cricket to Khel Ratna - Mithali Raj

Mithali Raj is the first name that comes to our mind when we think about women's cricket. She is a great servant of Indian cricket with her career spanning up to 22 years, the highest for any Indian cricketer across genders. She is the reason why maximum Indians started watching women's cricket. Author:- Ashwin Jangam (Cricket Analyst, host, poet, entertainer) Insta I'd:- cricket_creativity She was one of the first cricketers whom girls looked up to take the sport. Continuing her habit of being the first one to set benchmarks, she became the first women cricketer to be awarded the highest sporting award of the country, the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna award. The highest run-getter in international women's cricket was awarded the highest sporting award of India for her immense contribution to the game. Earlier, a few players were awarded the Arjuna award and a few other awards, but it was the first instance of awarding the utmost sporting title to a woman cricketer. It is a great achievement not just for her, but also for the entire cricketing fraternity and the good wishers of the female cricket who wish women's cricket to excel even further. The stalwart of Indian cricket showed glimpses of the talent she had right on her debut when she scored a hundred on her debut, becoming the youngest centurion in the history of the game at the age of 16 years 205 days, a record which was unbeaten till October 2021. Since then, she broke and created new records in women's cricket. She, along with was Jhulan Goswami was one of the major reasons why the Indian team could reach the finals of the ICC world cup for the first time. This was the event that brought women's cricket in limelight and Mithali has a lion's share in making it happen. Her exquisite timing is the key to her sensational batting. When in full flow, she is a treat to watch and is a threat to any deadly bowling attack in the world. Her technique, blended with experience is capable to tackle any situation arising in the match. She knows how to anchor the innings from one end and she has done it on plenty of occasions even when wickets are falling at the other end. In addition to this, her calmness brings the best out of her and also amuses everyone. The cricketing world was left in awe seeing her padded up, reading a book knowing that if a wicket falls, she has to be on the crease. Looking at this point, everyone wondered ice was cooler or it was Mithali's personality. With so much to offer for the game, Mithali ruled world cricket for years. If one spoke about her achievements, a week wouldn't be sufficient to completely speak about all her achievements. But the most important achievement she says is to open doors for many women to take up the sport. She has inspired a generation of upcoming stars who would later go on to serve the Indian cricket team. Inspired by Mithali, many young girls started playing the game which was thought to be a man's game-breaking all the stereotypes. She became a symbol of women empowerment. The fire she illuminated in the minds of girls spread like a wildfire as girls from smaller towns started to follow the game and be a part of it. And now with the highest sporting award conferred to her, she will continue to illuminate to minds of people who would love to see their daughters be like Mithali. While on one hand, the entire country is crazy for the Indian men's team, which has reached all its glory, only a few percentages of people prefer to watch the matches of Women in Blue. But the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna award (a first-time award named after a sportsperson) being awarded to Mithali, would help the Indians watch the Women in Blue dominate the opposition, bringing women's cricket days of glory. It is a sight, which every supporter of women's cricket like me would love to witness, and whenever it will happen, Mithali Raj would be the first reason behind it. With all my heart and soul, on behalf of Team Stay Featured we would like to congratulate The Queen of Cricket- Mithali Raj for her award and would hope to get inspired even more and more from the star.

  • Noted Spiritual authority launches designer jewellery collection ‘Manidveep’ in gold and platinum

After having a huge following in the spiritual domain, Vidushii Luthra, the lady icon behind many success stories in the corporate and celebrity circle, is all set to carve a new success story, albeit this time in the world of gems and diamonds. Her new range of jewellery is the latest talk in the town. The wide range of handmade jewellery, called manidveep, is wooing many hearts for the range is entirely different and unique. “My work is dedicated to my Lord and her consort, Devi. This range is about Devi’s abode, so it must be more beautiful than what the mind can fathom. We are not wanting to display this range online or in any adverts but will make it on order after looking at a person’s planetary chart or their faces. Every shape and style denotes a certain planetary and geometric essence and we shall take time but create jewellery that shall vibe with each individual. And every piece we shall make will be an offering to the Goddess, hence, will be made keeping Her beauty and grace in the ‘heart’. “, says Vidushii Luthra. Manidveep range of platinum, rose gold and diamond includes neckwear sets, pendants, earrings, bracelets, chains, rings and armlets, which are all designed with certain motifs that seem to be telling a tale that is unheard of. More than a fashion accessory, every single piece looks like a hidden gem that’s unearthed from some vedic lore. The designs are all made keeping in mind aspects of beauty, wisdom, prosperity and are yet equally modern and retain the classic look. Vidushii Luthra is a magical and inspirational persona who is committed to her path of spiritual work and this work, for her, is simply the worldly side to the same path. Having a vast knowledge of gems and metals, she seems to be reinventing whats been simply accepted by most as an object of beauty. But ‘beauty without brains’ is all about dullness and she says that “the ‘brain’ is about the planetary vibe that can be incorporated in any jewellery piece with a particular shape, design and metal and whence that happens, the beauty and the brain coincide.” Power, the range that talks about growing one’s inner strength; Light, the range that focuses on increasing the brilliance and Heal, the jewellery pieces that are about the therapeutic gems, each piece of this ‘new age designer jewellery’ is what mesmerizes any individual. “Whats a fashion statement for someone can turn into the greatest meaningful piece of adornment into the ocean of divinity if you simply choose to wear these jewellery pieces with a certain awareness.”, says Luthra She opens a certain birth chart, looks at a few planets and makes a design on the paper and guides the native who is consulting to go for the particular design in the neck close to the vishuddhi chakra and explains what difference that will make. But she says that she will read and design only at her pace and will and shall not design as per the customers’ demands for she is not catering to customers but beings who represent divinity. So unless you have patience and desire to add some depth in your life, this range is not for you. Or if you are emotional, then Manidveep’s ‘heart and hearth’ is prepared to welcome you. ‘The heart and the mind’ in sync with the soul, sounds like an exciting and wholesome combination when speaking about jewllery. This range surely seems like the right choice for this festive season and many more. Lighten up your core and your collection with ‘Manidveep’, the name that surely speaks ‘wisdom’ along with beauty. • Energy Storage policy to complement green push by companies like Adani, Siemens and ReNew Power

Building on the gains achieved by pioneers like Tata, Adani, Siemens and ReNew Power, the proposed Energy Storage policy will enhance India’s energy transition The Indian government is mulling over a new ‘Energy Storage’ policy to complement the country’s green energy push. The policy will dictate the large-scale integration of green power with the country’s power grid. The presence of an efficient power storage facility will give India access to a stable power grid when it comes to renewable energy. Given the intermittency of clean energy sources like wind and solar, large storage facilities will come in handy to meet power quotas on off days. India has already crossed 100GW of installed renewables capacity, thanks to the efforts of companies like ReNew Power, Tata, Adani, Siemens and Suzlon. The set target was 175GW by 2022 and with another 63GW currently under construction, the number is very much achievable. On the back of this, the government has gone ahead and planned the next set of target to reach 450GW by 2030. This would mean a huge influx of power from alternative sources, necessitating the need for a storage mechanism. The stage is set for India to take the role of a global trend-setter when it comes to renewables. Non-conventional power generation capacity in the country is presently over 153GW and represents more than 39 per cent of the total installed power generation capacity. With the aforementioned 63GW under construction and another 29GW worth of projects under bid, this will bring the number up to 245GW. 450GW does not seem too far away now. Renewable companies in India have been a major force to reckon with. The transformation of the sector has been brought about through large-scale investments by front-runners like ReNew Power, Adani and Siemens. The entry of new players, the most prominent being Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), is a welcome addition. RIL announced its plans to invest $10 billion in green energy over the next three years and went on to acquire Norwegian company, REC solar Holdings, for $771 million and another 40 per cent stake in Sterling & Wilson Solar for $370 million. Another important player in this field is the Adani Group. The ports-to-power conglomerate has already expressed its vision of becoming the largest renewables company in the world by 2030. To this end, the company will invest another $20 billion over the next decade, with a focus on green hydrogen production. The renewables arm of the Group completed India’s largest renewable energy acquisition – taking over 5GW of solar and wind assets from SB Energy Holdings Ltd. for $3.5 billion. The company’s current portfolio stands at 15,390MW of renewable projects spread across 87 locations in 11 states. India has already set the ball rolling with plans to set up a 14GWh grid-scale battery storage system at Khavda, Gujarat, which is the world’s largest renewables park. A proposal to set up another 13GWh storage system in Ladakh through a bidding process is also in the making. This development is an absolute win in the aftermath of the pandemic. After a year-long temporary halt in all activities across the board, the resurgence of the economy bodes well for the sector as firms like Adani, Siemens, ReNew Power and others pick up the pace again. India’s ‘Energy Storage’ policy plan, if and when it comes out, will herald a new phase in India’s energy transition.

  • Is VAR Ruining football?

The introduction of the Video Assistant Referee in football is a controversial decision. VAR was firstly introduced in the 2016 MLS game. The introduction of the video assistant referee VAR for specific incidents involving match-changing situations. The VAR team will support the referees from a centralized video operation room located at the broadcast Center. The team consists of a video assistant referee and three assistant video assistant referees. Additionally for replay operators will select and provide the best angles from all relevant broadcast cameras plus two additional offside cameras. In addition to feeds generated from the video operation room will be distributed to the venue. The VAR output includes all the angles being reviewed by the VAR team also the video operation room camera feed capturing all the action during a VAR review. The VAR team supports the decision-making process of the referee in four match-changing situations, 1. Goals and offences leading up to a goal 2. Penalty decisions and offences leading up to a penalty 3. Direct red card incidents 4. Mistaken identity Throughout a match, the VAR team is constantly checking for mistakes related to these four scenarios. They will communicate with the referee only for obvious errors or serious missed incidents. The referee can delay the restart of play at any time to communicate with the VAR team and will signal this by pointing to his ear. Once the VARs or the referee decide an incident is reviewable the referee would initiate an official review by signalling the outline of a TV screen. The referee will then either make a decision based on the information received from the VAR team or personally review the incident at the referee review area. An information system is situated in the video operation room where a game authority staff member will have direct access to the VAR output and all referee communications. He/she is responsible for generating official VAR review information fires a networked touch tablet. To ensure transparency within the VAR review process the tablet information will trigger the VAR are related match television graphics templates and produce messages on the web and venue-based commentary information systems. this all-new process will provide media rights licensees commentators and producers with updated and detailed information on the VAR review. Yellow messages will indicate there is or could be a delay in the match. Red messages will show VAR official review details and green messages will display the outcome of the VAR review. The host broadcast production teams will implement a picture-in-picture solution to help explain the complete story. Once the official review signal has been made the video operation room camera can be inserted and the screen graphic will explain which of the four defined match-changing decisions is under review. Depending on the review scenario the referee may elect to review them in question at the referee review area. The match production team will show the output of the VAR replay line showing the viewers exactly what the referee is watching. To conclude the process a graphic will be inserted clarifying the outcome of the review. Once the referee has made the final decision a full-frame graphic slate explaining the outcome of the review will be inserted followed by the decisive replay from the video assistant referee. There are some benefits of VAR but some people remember the good old days when we could celebrate a goal without having to wait five minutes to see if the striker's nose was offside. VAR was supposed to make football better so far it made some things worse. Not just inconsistent decisions and lengthy delays here are some more reasons why VAR is ruining football. Goal-line technology has been a great addition to football. it has it's a black or white decision,” did the ball cross the line or not?” the same can't be said for var though. many decisions in football are subjective. Whether it's a penalty or not is often down to interpretation. Those who wanted var thought it would solve all the game's problems. Sometimes it is created more problems. the managers often call for consistency. They hoped var would achieve this but all it's done is just shift the decision-making to the video referee. var gets decisions wrong too and it feels even more unfair than it did when mistakes were down to the referee's human error as if that wasn't bad enough. The introduction of var and its robotic interpretations have led to the laws being applied much more harshly. slow-motion replays and multiple camera angles mean even minor infractions are being analyzed to death. Some decisions are just nonsensical. E.g., If the defender touches the attacker's shirt for half of the seconds, it’s a penalty. No doubt VAR has improved the accuracy but it is inconsistent and unreliable. Managers and football fans are hoping there will be an improvement in future so that fewer controversies will happen and football game goes on with less complicacy.
