Over 21 years of diversified experience makes Satish a flawless leader and a great problem solver. Budget expectations of Mr Satish Gidugu, CEO & Whole Time Director at Medi Assist Healthcare Services (India’s leading Third Party Administrator (TPA)) are summarized in these words “The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about an intense focus on the subject of preventive healthcare and implored citizens to secure themselves by purchasing adequate health insurance cover. However, in the backdrop of falling incomes because of medical exigencies or job losses, many Indians are scaling down the coverage of their health insurance policies in a bid to save on the premium amount expended. Adding to this alarming trend is the fact that nearly 30% of the Indian population remain uninsured and you have a dangerous situation that is detrimental to our country's goal of achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by 2030. To reverse this course, it is imperative that tax-paying citizens are incentivised to opt for a higher health insurance cover while the Government focuses on its slew of initiatives aimed at the bottom 50% of India's population. There is an opportunity to reduce the GST rates on health insurance premiums, allow input credit on GST paid towards employee health insurance and eliminate perquisite tax completely on employee medical reimbursements. This will create a significant impact on the overall adoption of health insurance. Doubling the existing tax deduction limits under section 80D of the Income Tax Act for medical insurance premiums paid will result in savings for the taxpayer, which in turn can be utilised to enhance the health coverage and include all dependents in the family. If announced in the forthcoming Union Budget, this measure would help the ordinary Indian citizen immensely and will help them to be better prepared for any future pandemic”. - Junior Men in Blue storm into the semis-finals
If you think, cricket these days is all about high scoring matches, then you should probably watch the U-19 world cup. In the days of T20 and the game favouring batters, low scoring thrillers are a rare phenomenon. But the future stars of cricket are making it happen in the world cup. Earlier it was the amazing quarter-final between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka, and yesterday it was the quarter-final between India and Bangladesh. And even though India won victorious yesterday, the truly amazing display of fighting spirit from Bangla players was worth watching. The two finalists of the former world cup were raring to go. Looking at the pitch it was sure that the bowlers can make the most out of it if they bow tight line and length. Therefore it was obvious that the team which wins the toss will bowl first. Accordingly the runners-up of last world cup, India won the toss and chose to bowl. The Indian bowlers ensured they harnessed the conditions to their benefit. With accuracy, they rattled the Bangla batting line-up. Ravi Kumar destroyed the top order with his amazing bowling. While on one hand, he was breathing fire, other bowlers were complimenting him very well too by bowling tight lines and not allowing the flow of runs. Plus, the Indians were exceptional in the field. When Aich Mollah was playing well, his run out by Yash Dhull sent him back to the pavilion, and his team on backfoot. On the backfoot, at 56/7, SM Meherob and Ashiqur Zaman steadied the Bangla ship. Playing extremely cautiously, the duo stitched up to a much-needed half-century partnership. The duo batted sensibly and played the middle overs. But a missed shot by Meherob ensured the end of the partnership. Sooner, an error in judgement by Zaman to steal a second run and a 60-metre direct hit from Siddharth Yadav ensured the end of Zaman. Eventually, with the last catch, Bangladesh was bundled for 111. The Indian bowlers had done their job, it was now the turn of batters to play their role. The target may have looked an easy one, but Bangla tigers were determined to win this encounter. They dismissed the inform Harnoor Singh for a duck. Their discipline in bowling made life difficult for the best Indian batters Raghuwanshi and Rasheed. If at all they tried to time the ball, the Bangla fielders put their sleeves on the heart to stop the ball, increasing the pressure on Men in Blue. It looked like the Indians may have a tough time to bat against the high spirits of the Bangla bowlers. But both the batters held their nerve and batted well after the first 10 overs. It looked like it may be easy for India to win, but Ripon Mondol did something which Ravi Bishnoi did in the last tournament final against Bangladesh. Ripon took 4 wickets in quick succession. He sent the elegant batters Raghuwanshi, Rasheed, Yadav and Bawa back to the pavilion. In addition, the Bangla fielders were denying singles to the Indians. Eventually, the calm head of the skipper Yash Dhull and Kaushal Tambe led India to a victory. With it, India, the most successful team of U-19s have stormed into the semi-final of the tournament. If one looks only at the scorecard, the person might not understand how thrilling the match happened. With both the teams playing their top-notch game, this game was one to remember. Both the teams performed exceptionally well in all three departments of the game. Discipline in bowling, caution in batting and aggression while fielding is what one saw from both teams. The best of ODI cricket is what one can say by looking at what happened. Even though the defending world champions Bangladesh might have lost the match, they should be proud of the way they played in the match. The rise of the U-19 Bangladesh team is pleasing to see. The victory of the last world cup, the fighting spirit they displayed in this world cup will inspire many Bangla kids to take up the game improve their country's cricketing image. In the years to come, this Bangladesh team will give a tough fight to all other nations. And speaking of India , it is still the best U-19 team in the world. With their main players back in the game after covid, and with winning the low scoring thriller, they would want to win the semi-final against Australia. Looking at both, The Indian and Aussie teams, it seems like the match will be a treat to the fans. Let's hope it happens. - From Piya to Piya the makeup artist-Pranita Waghere
I have come across many people, friends, family and clients asking me why and how I got into this field of artistry. So Yes everyone has a story to tell maybe grand or humble, we all have had experiences that have shaped us into the person that we are today. My story of why and how I became a makeup artist…. In the Frame : Pranita Waghere With her Mother and Sister So soon after 12th grade, I was thinking of choosing a career option for myself, being a bit lazy in studies I always wanted to be exceptional and didn’t want to join the rat race. So from several options, I thought of opting for my mother’s old hobby of being a beautician because that fascinated me. In the frame : Pranita Waghere I started from very basic but that didn’t give me much pleasure felt quite a distress, but soon heard the humming voice of a makeup artistry course nearby, without any second thought I grabbed the opportunity and started learning the skill of beautifying the souls. Firstly I started with Ujwala mam learnt and assisted her for almost 6 months. Later I kept learning from renowned artists all over India from Rohini mam. I also utilised the pandemic period in learning from various online platforms and online courses like jasmine beauty care, Amrit Kaur artistry etc While learning I was overjoyed and thrilled with the experience and felt immense pleasure. Kept learning, practising and improvising my skills. This Photo is taken from make up catalogue of Pranita Waghere A significant thing I would like to share here is, every parent wants their kid to have some basic platform, has a degree from renowned and reputed universities, but then my mother never had that mindset. To my surprise, she gave astonishing support to my decision of not joining the rat race and jumping into the world of business competition at a very younger age. At such young age, I faced many issues taking decisions where my mother and sister stood strong behind me every time even in my lows. They are the ones who motivated me, build the confidence within me. I can surely say they are my strongest 2 wheels on which my life and Piya the makeup artist ride on. It’s not like I stopped studying, in parallel I completed my graduation and now perusing masters. I am blessed with the best mentors and teachers who guided, supported and trained me. Within 2 years I was well recognized locally. I am 100% sure most of them won’t believe or even imagine the fact that the person behind me who assist me rather better to say my hairstylist is none other than my mother who gave a great rebound to her hobby and now at this age she works full time with me. Hats off to her and yes the woman behind my success. I work with so many people across sectors like photographers, reel stars and even celebrities who are in mere shock when they experience this overwhelming support. Most of them won’t believe that a girl with minimum makeup needs, who had difficulty in putting a simple stroke of eyeliner for herself, would successfully turn into a makeup artist one fine day. I developed a great passion and interest in beautifying, making up and enhancing beauty. Makeup can give the confidence, to change lives and evoke smiles even in tears (I do experience in every wedding function). For me Makeup is special. It helped me through dark days, it taught me to have fun and even experience the worst but then just a look in the mirror, wipe it away and start fresh. Long way ahead, still developing, empowering, growing, learning, falling and rising back. It’s now my full-time job, It has given me wings to fly at such a younger age of 21, where I perfectly know the struggles of a small business, days of the pandemic, nevertheless, I took a plunge and stood up high with my very own “PIYA The Makeup Studio”, Not only makeup but also a rental boutique. I noticed most of my clients facing issues choosing the right set of jewellery, costume, florals for multiple functions. This Photo is taken from make up catalogue of Pranita Waghere So I decided to extend my business to help my clients through their most important days and after all great satisfaction comes from sharing things and making clients super happy here my sister and mother assists me and take care of the boutique. My social network has grown considerably as my hard work and consistency is paying off. But I won’t stop here, many more milestones to achieve, any hurdles to cross and moments to live. Everyone has their endeavour, it depends on how to take it, how to overcome each situation and the circumstances that make our endeavour meaningful. That’s all my journey of Pranita Waghere from Piya to Piya the makeup artist. Here's the link to my account. - What Gabba meant to India, this series means to South Africa
The Indian tour of South Africa was a great success for the Protea team. India, with their full strength squad, were the firm favourites right from the start of the series. Proving them wrong, the young Protea side displayed immense intent, and courage and defeated the Indian team. Exactly a year ago, a young Indian team had defeated full strength Aussies, sealing the series as Gabba. Similarly, a young Protea rising from the first test defeat emerged victorious to the best-looking team at the moment. This is why, what Gabba means to India, this series means to South Africa. Speaking about the test series, the visitor's lived up to the expectations by winning the first game at Centurion, becoming the first Asian team to win a test at the venue. But since then, they were opposed by a determined group of Proteas who adapted to the fierce Indian bowling lineup quickly. They had answers to Indian bowlers, and their bowlers did the trick to send Indian batters back to the pavilion with not moving the scorecard much. When their best batter Quinton De cock resigned from his services in the longest format of the game, it seemed a difficult task for Proteas, just like it looked after the Adelaide test for India when Virat was not going to be present for the remainder of the series. But the likes of Keegan Peterson, Temba Bavuma and skipper Dean Elgar had different plans which they successfully executed. Marco Jansen also made his mark on the international test circuit. But at least in the test series, India managed to win one match, leisure which they didn't get in the ODI series. The Men in Blue were whitewashed by the Protea team in the 3 match series. The worst part of the result was not the result of losing matches, it was the lack of intent from the team which was supposed to be one of the top teams. Barring a few names like Virat Kohli, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, no one showed intent. Furthermore, the middle-order woes prevailing for a year continued for the team. The top-order performance was dominant in the first match, but middle-order failure ensured a collapse. The dependence on the top order has been a matter of concern for the team for a long time, and it is the same thing that haunted India's semi-final in the 2019 world cup against New Zealand. And the cherry on the pie for Proteas was the poor captaincy from KL Rahul. Failing on all fronts like team selection, field placements and rotation of bowlers, he created an unwanted record on his captaincy debut series despite having a strong team. On the contrary, Temba Bavuma proved his worth as the limited over skipper for Proteas. Along with his leadership skills, he displayed his stronghold of batting. Every fiery conversation happening with him increased his hunger to score more and more. He was strongly assisted by the other batters ensuring a solid middle order. He used bowlers in a good way to create pressure on the batters and chances for his team. The overall result of all was visible to the world. As an Indian, it hurts to see India struggling to find a form with the best men on the field, but as a cricket fan, it is amazing to see the young Protea team evolve greatly and prove to be a tough competitor for strongest opponents. They will gain tremendous confidence as a young side and would like to take the team forward with the confidence they gained from it. A series in which world-class India came as favourites, won the first game, and then the Protea team turned the tables only to deny India abye victory in the upcoming matches will be remembered as one of the best series in the history of the South African team. It might be a tough pill to swallow for India, but it's a part of the game. With Rohit coming back in the side as a leader in the series against West Indies, KL will get some time off from his duties as skipper. Alongside, the inclusion of youngsters would ensure they are given a chance to prove themselves. The squad could've been better, but it still looks good to go. Hopefully, the Men in Blue would not repeat the mistakes yet again. If they keep their ego and overconfidence aside, there is no denying fact that they will emerge victoriously. - An outlook on " Introduction to Sustainable Development Goals " - a book by Dr Pratik Mungekar
There is a huge strategy capacity and skills gap needed to be closed for us to accelerate the successful implementation of sustainable development goals and bring our planet back on the sustainable path. Sustainable Development aims to bring a balance between meeting the requirements of what the present demands while not overlooking the needs of future generations. Sustainable development is all about creating new technology, companies and the environment, without causing harm to the environment. The author, Dr Pratik Mungekar put everything linked with us through the book and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and focuses on key areas to protect people and the planet. This book is now part of the Atlantean Education Program. Another uniqueness of " Introduction to Sustainable Development Goals" simplifies complex terms to first-time readers who are yet to explore these kinds of topics. The idea behind the book is to always introduce the approach at the present conditions without paying heed to what its impact may be on the future and the generations to come. While Communicating with Dr Pratik Mungekar, he opened up like this "I am happy to share that on 24th October on the occasion of United Nations Day celebrations my book Introduction to Sustainable Development Goals has been launched in Hyderabad & within 10days my book has got 2 International Recognitions. Heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Cristian Camilo Serna Villada sir for giving me this international recognition and blessings. This has been possible only due to the blessings and guidance of my Parents and gurus". Dr Pratik Mungekar with his guru World Renowned Scientist, Padma Vibhushan Dr Raghunath Mashelkar The author is successful to convey in easy words with deep meaning. What is sustainable development? What does sustainable development focus on? Why is it useful for the environment? It's always difficult to wrap up all the key points you have mentioned in your book and provide some important suggestions to implement sustainable development. Dr Pratik Mungekar managed the length of the book along with the motto so well. There is an increasing understanding that sustainable development needs a paradigm shift in our understanding of the interaction between the real economy and quality of life. There would be many social, environmental and economic benefits in changing our current model. and adapting it with the inclusion of SDG. Hence, Introduction to Sustainable Development Goals gives the correct idea about the science of making change.
