What was the biggest challenge in this patent process? Share your feelings when you had that confirmation. The biggest challenge we faced during this process was to check whether this very same idea was already executed by any other scientists, researchers or the inventors; and if that was the case, how will our concept stand apart from theirs? So, we discussed and came up with the solution to add the diazepam patches so that it will some what prevent the episode of seizure. 2. Share about your team-mates, guardian and their background Well, we have some really spectacular people contributing. To begin with my eldest brother Dr. Raju Ramekar, who is the top Radiologist in Adilabad, helped to make my work stand apart and he was the one who inspired me for this task. Any memories which triggered this thought? Few years back I came across an incident where I saw a girl had episode of seizure and met with an accident, she was severely injured and it was quite devastating. I thought that there are many people who might have faced similar problems, maybe, on a daily basis. As a student of health care profession, I felt the need of something that will indicate such events and will prevent mishaps. So, I researched on this topic and came up with this idea. 4. Share about your idols and takeaways There are quite a lot of people I admire but the person I idolize is my father he is the one who has always motivated me, had my back and encouraged me in every aspect. He educated my mother after marriage, made her independent, gave birth to an only child, and raised her to become a doctor and serve mankind. He inspired me to work for the less fortunate and that is how I stand here, making his dreams come true, fighting for women's social rights. My mom, always backed my dad in all his decisions, be it education or raising an only child. Another strong pillar is my husband. He is not just a pillar but a mountain, solid support, who himself is a doctor and knows the needs of the society. My daughter Pradnya is an inspiration to me. She was the one who insisted I participate in this award. And my patients! Of course, they are the ones who put who place their trust in me and have faith in. When as an intern, working at RH, I have seen various cases of deaths due to anaemia, snake bites, unavailability of antidotes in good quantity, and death due to multiple deliveries (to have a male child). These all things would make me angry, not only with the society but also with myself, as I couldn't do much for them. But when I started my practice, I had decided that social awareness regarding health, gender equality, need for education for girls would be my priority. To date, missed I have never missed a chance to counselling people regarding this. Associated with Baidyanath, I have also organised many free medical check-up camps. I have made groups of ladies unite them, to come together and counsel on various issues and also guide them in their financial matters. Most of them work as housemaids, vegetable sellers or run some small business. This helps in their improvement in lifestyle, changes their views and become a better people. I know, it's difficult for us to change the world alone. But I am trying to give my bit. Covid-19 waves were a difficult time for us. We could have chosen to stay that home. But my parents, and my daughter, insisted we keep on working. During those times, it has happened that I hadn't met my daughter for two months. And even when we met, we had to keep our distance between ourselves. As I have been doing counselling, for the last 10 years, the one thing I noticed in the kids and adults alike, was a lack of communication. Communication is not something that will start all of a sudden. We have to make a habit of it. We have to talk to our children and know that they have their minds. Accept them as a different person and see how life becomes more beautiful! And a special message for ladies: You are as important as anyone in the family. Take care of yourself!!!

Providing quality education has always been one of the most challenging things this country has to face every day. Since the gurus and the Vedas, where once classes happened under a huge tree, as whimsical and impossible does it sound today, it was a real thing, and in a way, those practices are still in touch. Sure, teaching has become more modernized with smart classes and online instruction, which again was revolutionized by the ongoing pandemic. Online teaching has provided a lot of opportunities for students to gain an education but how much of it is of quality is a doubt. The numbers weigh heavier on the quantity than the quality. Recognizing The Issue Providing quality education is challenging but not impossible. It might seem that rural education is the only alarming issue, but urban education is very brummagem. Quality education means an education that secures the life of an individual towards betterment and better prospects. It should make an individual adept at ensuring a comfortable lifestyle. Stereotyping certain professions and glorifying a few should not be considered education. A person should pursue his/her preferred field without being judged and without having to struggle due to a lack of knowledge and resources. Also, education should not be contained to just textual knowledge but should also include a healthy perception of society and etiquette development. Moral values, respect, self-responsibility, and civic duty should be a must in education. There are many boarding schools in Dehradun that provide quality education to the students with modernized smart classes and online instructions. But how can we achieve this quality education parameter? We need to start from the very basic- The teachers. It could all start by just focused and skill-based teaching. This means education provided by experts of a particular field to students and then selective education provided in the subject or topic that the student excels at, with regular classes, and letting the students have the freedom to choose their career path and education design. How To Overcome This Problem For the conditions mentioned earlier to work out, teachers with the best knowledge and expert teaching style are needed. This can only be done with strict interviewing and, more importantly, increasing the respect towards teachers in our society, and only then what is desired will be delivered at the end of the day. Increasing the pay scale of a teacher will help promote and gain a lot of better teachers as many will then appreciate the importance of a teacher. Obtaining education has become more expensive over the years. So, providing a subsidized education for high schools and colleges will encourage more and more students to be inspired and be able to gain an education. Very often, the country has complained about the reservation system and questioned its need for existence. While it does seem significant, the people who need it aren’t the ones benefiting from it. So, it’s probably time we relook its necessity and the ways by which the reservations are being implemented in this country. The above-discussed issues are the very few challenges but are the most important and need to be considered. If provided to every citizen, quality education will drastically help improve the country’s economic growth and eradicate unemployment. India today has many students who have graduated successfully and have a bachelor’s degree but are still left unemployed. The main reason for the lack of quality education is the lack of job opportunities in every field, and this is the primary concern. Since not everybody is aware of the options provided in various areas. Not many are aware of how valuable every field of work is and that the economy can easily and drastically crash if any of the jobs were eradicated. Explaining why the job opportunities are decreasing. Since the quality of education is not matched well, companies don’t hire candidates, which leaves many deserving candidates unemployed. This, in turn, affects them financially, physically, and also mentally. The United Nations established the Sustainable Development goals in 2015 to achieve the goals by 2030. Moving forward with the mission statement of “A blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all by 203”. Conclusion A nation is bound to prosper if all its citizens are well educated. Suppose the country focuses on the Sustainable Development Goals provided by the United Nations. In that case, it gets easier already as providing quality education is one of the main goals placed at number 4 on the long list. The ongoing pandemic has made the already challenging set of goals harder to achieve. Hence, a continuous check and effort towards achieving all of these goals are very important. Education is important, but if it is not of quality, it is a threat as it does not solve the ongoing problems. Rather it only initiates and brings in more. If there is one universal aspiration across the globe, it is to encourage children to learn and grow. There may be innumerable diverse ways in which different cultures approach learning, but the goal is the same. There may be multiple education systems, but the learning objectives are almost the same for each concept, each subject and each developmental age group. There is perhaps no greater weapon and no superlative shield than education and it should not be a privilege; it should be the most easily accessible facility for every citizen of humankind. We can trace back the roots of Indian education to 5000 BC when the guru-shishya relationship was the most revered tradition of the Indian civilisation. The guru welcomed young children into his gurukul and spent 15-17 years training them in multi-disciplinary skills and knowledge. This was not rote learning or a superficial process; there was immersion, application, introspection, and multiple ways of learning. From reciting shlokas to learning through music, dance, painting and yoga, a Guru ensured his pupils left his gurukul enriched and equipped to lead a life of integrity, morals, holistic knowledge, and unparalleled respect and gratitude for his teacher. Thousands of years after Guru Dronacharya, Rishi Valmiki and Guru Parshuram, what can we do as a system to provide the best learning outcomes for our students? Here are a few tips: -The 21st-century teacher must evolve from being an instructor who simply delivers information to her passive learners and grades their assignments. A new-age definition of teaching must also include listening to the needs of the diverse students and encouraging them to learn new things without solely depending on the chalk-talk method or rote learning. -Teachers would be better equipped if they studied and applied Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence model of learning, which acknowledges and celebrates the different needs of each child. For instance, a teacher who is depending on her verbal-linguistic lecturing skills may not be able to sustain the attention or interest of her student who is low on verbal-linguistic intelligence, but very high on body-kinesthetic intelligence. -Students should receive multiple and continued opportunities for holistic development and should be able to recognise, hone and present their skills and abilities. Personality building and public speaking programs should be introduced as early as pre-primary and primary years, because confidence building, stage presence, and public speaking are quintessential 21st-century skills. -While rigour and practice are essential facets of how we process, store and retain information in our memory storage systems, cognitive psychologists have suggested models such as Bloom’s Taxonomy, which focuses on the depth of learning and the complexity of tasks. The simple recall of facts is no longer adequate. Teachers should emphasise the application, analysis and evaluation of material, which will undoubtedly lead to deeper understanding and better performance in national exams. -Schools should strive to obtain a relatively reasonable teacher-student ratio, which will ensure that each child is given adequate attention without the teacher feeling burnt out or stretched thin. -There should be conversations within the school management and teaching faculty to redefine the goal of education and ideate how we can shift from marks-driven processes to understanding-and-application-driven processes. -Research should be made a mandatory part of school education, and students should be able to review scientific literature, conduct experiments and present their findings. This will be a stepping stone to fostering critical thinking and problem-solving. -Continued professional development for the school heads and teachers will allow for updated training so that new pedagogies can be implemented into the school system. -Providing extra-curricular opportunities is an extension of formal classroom teaching, because the life skills acquired in immersive sports, debates, arts, music, dance etc build character and enhance personality. A student who scores 90% in his exams but is unable to express himself in a group, will not be able to cope with the needs of today’s time. -Technology should be mindfully integrated so that it aids learning rather than replacing the teacher. Students should be introduced to information technology and coding and should be assisted in developing logical reasoning and computer literacy. My biggest advice to schools and teachers would be to make your education system a child-centric one, where your students and their individual needs and skills are the focus of developing a teaching plan. One size no longer fits all, and we must evolve to have an entire arsenal of effective teaching methods and be flexible to shift and adapt in the classroom. Children are innately curious and strive to explore, discover and create right from their infancy years. Even toddlers are scholars and learners, confident in their opinions and constantly seeking autonomy. We should scaffold them with our expertise and opportunities, nurture their curiosity and creativity and allow them to shine in their incredible ways. From childhood, I’ve always made different gadgets and innovations from what was available to me. My interest was particularly sparked when introduced to the mechanics of robotics and new innovative ideas during my school life. With a keen interest in making new inventions that are practical and unique, I wished to study in-depth the possibilities that innovation and technology hold and to make a full-time career out of it. By the time I was in my early college years, my ideas and interest in embedded machine learning had earned me the reputation of being the most knowledgeable person in the field. My journey as an educator for innovation and technology started here where I would host classes to teach seniors the complex yet intriguing world of robotics and engineering. It was also during college when I had an epiphany moment to work on an idea of a product that can enhance the mileage of an engine by four times which earned me my first National Patent in 2013. Earning the first patent was only the starting point to a successful career in innovation and discovery. During the next 1.5 years after college, I was the proud owner of 10 more International and National patents. I didn’t wish to follow the traditional path of joining multinational companies, instead, I focused all my attention on working with different Research& Development Institutes. I had the privilege to work with scientists, innovators, masters of their fields, politicians, Government officials, and more as a Business Innovation Consultant for many years. We’ve chosen S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) as the primary focus to be incorporated into all of ThinkerPlace’s toys. The reason why Mr. & Mrs Sharma and I chose this learning methodology is because of the scope and capability that it provides to children. Through STEM, children get hands-on experience with all the concepts that they learn at school, it is easier for them to retain information through practical learning, and they are also free to be innovative and creative. STEM is at the forefront and the pinnacle of education that schools worldwide are incorporating. At ThinkerPlace, we wanted to present the possibilities and the endless potential that STEM has to offer by introducing this concept in the form of simple DIY educational smart toys. Looking back on my journey from the inception of ThinkerPlace till today, I appreciate all the milestones that the company as a whole and the team have crossed. My team includes a variety of people, all driven by the same goal - to make ThinkerPlace better every day. I believe that anyone can understand what to do in a job, but not everyone can understand innovation as the job. I’m grateful to the entire team of ThinkerPlace for assisting me to make several dreams a reality. In the years 2013-14 startup culture was frowned upon due to the uncertainty linked to it. At that time there was not enough awareness about innovation and entrepreneurship, making it difficult for me to establish myself career-wise. ThinkerPlace was a groundbreaking opportunity for me to settle into my comfort zone and finally do what I’ve always wanted - to make products that are based on innovation. I have advised many start-ups and matured them in varying aspects earning myself the title of infopreneur.ThinkerPlace is the first start-up that I am heading independently. The ideation for ThinkerPlace was never a problem, it was the execution where we saw several hiccups. Coming up with different products, all with their separate product journeys and timelines, setting the team and working towards the launch of all these products, were some of the initial challenges. At ThinkerPlace, the individual roles of team members are critical for the launching of our products right from ideation to the marketing and sales part. Getting everyone on board to work towards several common goals is always a challenge. In my experience, the lifecycle of a product till we reach the target is always something that's a happy challenge every time. I think it was the notion of never stopping believing in myself that pushed me and ThinkerPlace to where it is now. It was the devotion to the company and the principle to provide something that will take our audience to the next level that kept me motivated. Every individual and company have their failures, and I believe that taking failures as an experience and not pondering over them too much is the key to moving forward with a new drive. Every situation is an asset and an opportunity, they all should be encashed positively is what I've learned through my two-year CEO journey. Through ThinkerPlace and my journey, I’ve realised that every organisation's research on anything is underrated potential to provide paths to a better execution strategy for whatever tasks. As a researcher for nearly a decade now, I’ve known that this is the ultimate method to prepare for anything. For ThinkerPlace, the plan is expansion. Currently, we are providing end-to-end STEM-based learning solutions for children between the ages of 6-14. We are aiming to expand into providing toddlers and older children with similar experiences that are innovative. We are also moving towards the global expansion of all our verticals. The trailer launching event of the much-awaited documentary film “NANDA MASTER’NKA CHATASALI” was held successfully on 1st June 2022 at 8 pm, Idcol Auditorium, Bhubaneswar. Nanda Master’nka Chatasli is a 70 min documentary based on the life and struggle of 104-year-old Free Education Icon, Padmashri Nanda Prusty from Odisha, who selflessly devotes his life, providing 70 years of free education to 3 generations of children of his village. Nanda Kishore Prusty was a teacher of a traditional hut school (chatasali) from a remote village named Kantira, in Sukinda block, jajpur district of Odisha who shot to fame after receiving the Padmashri Award from the President of India. Along with the décor of the film's posters and banners with the graceful energy of Nanda Prusty, the trailer was showcased on a big screen at the event in front of a packed audience. Simultaneously, the official trailer of the film was launched on OdiaOne, Odish’s premiere youtube channel for streaming creative and good content in the presence of eminent personalities and media. The film is produced by Dr. Abhay Pati who is a senior journalist and director of Glorious Senior Secondary School and is also the founder of Abhismita Films. The film is directed by internationally acclaimed filmmaker and photographer Pranab Kumar Aich, founder of Studiowaala Films, winner of the World Photography Award Cannes, 2009. He has received from than 30 international recognitions for his documentaries on social issues like City's Step Child and I have Colored Dream.
