State-of-the-Art Omprakash Tibrewala Board Room Inaugurated at FTCCI

A new, cutting-edge 16-seater boardroom named the Omprakash Tibrewala Board Room was unveiled on Tuesday morning at the FTCCI premises. The boardroom was established by the OP Tibrewala Foundation in loving memory of the late Shri Omprakash Tibrewala, a former president of FTCCI, who dedicated 30 years of his life to the organization.

The inaugural ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed guests, including past presidents of FTCCI, MC members, and family members of the Tibrewala family. Mr. Anil Agarwal, the President of FTCCI, Mr Arun Luharuka, a past president of FTCCI and a relative of the Tibrewala family, and Mr Abhishek Tibrewala, the grandson of late Shri OP Tibrewala and a trustee of the OP Tibrewala Foundation, jointly inaugurated the boardroom.

Reflecting on the remarkable journey of Mr Omprakash Tibrewala, Mr Arun Luharuka shared that Mr Tibrewala had arrived in Hyderabad without even purchasing a ticket and had very little money in hand. He initially sold clothes on bicycles but eventually became a well-known figure in the city until his passing.

Mr Anil Agarwal, although not having had the opportunity to work directly with Mr Tibrewala, acknowledged his commitment and dedication as an industrialist and philanthropist. He emphasized that FTCCI, being the voice of the industry with a legacy of 106 years of excellence, constantly requires infrastructure development. Mr Agarwal expressed gratitude to the OP Tibrewala Foundation for providing FTCCI with a state-of-the-art 16-seater boardroom. OP Tibrewala had been deeply associated with FTCCI for over three decades.

Mr Arun Luharuka highlighted that philanthropy was ingrained in Mr. Tibrewala's nature. During his final days, he selflessly provided meals to 1200 underprivileged individuals every day and made significant contributions to Akshayapathra. He also offered his expertise voluntarily to reduce costs and increase the organization's capacity to serve more people.

Another former president of FTCCI, Mr Shekhar Agarwal, fondly remembered Mr Tibrewala's invaluable services to society, describing him as a taskmaster who consistently gave his best.

Khyati Naravane, CEO of FTCCI, emphasized the organization's frequent hosting of over 120 events per year, in addition to numerous conferences utilizing its facilities. The newly inaugurated boardroom contributes to FTCCI's infrastructure and furthers its mission.
