Inspiration doesn’t always come with fanfare. Sometimes, it walks in quietly, like it did for Harshvardhan Patil, now the CEO of Yashwant Classes, one of Pune’s most trusted educational institutions.
His journey began on an ordinary day. The History teacher at a local coaching centre was absent, and 16-year-old Harshvardhan, who had just completed his Class 10, was asked to temporarily step in. What followed was far from ordinary. Students connected instantly with his simple, clear, and engaging teaching style. By the end of the day, they made a heartfelt request to the management: “Let Harshvardhan Sir teach us regularly.”
That spontaneous moment became a turning point. What started with one subject gradually expanded to others — English, Geography, Chemistry — before he found his true calling in Physics. Rather than choosing an easy route, Harshvardhan embraced the subject that many students found most challenging. For him, every difficulty in Physics was an opportunity to simplify, to decode, and to empower.
Over the years, Harshvardhan’s role evolved beyond the blackboard. He became a mentor, counsellor, and motivator — offering not just academic instruction, but guidance, clarity, and emotional support. As he often says, “I always wanted to be the teacher I never had.”
Carrying Forward a Legacy
Yashwant Classes was established in 1995 by Harshvardhan’s father, Shri Sheetal Patil, a COEP graduate with a sharp, roots-oriented approach to education. Guided by the principle “Vidyarthi Hitay, Palak Sukhay” (For the welfare of students, and the peace of mind of parents), the institute has steadily grown over three decades, shaping the futures of over 25,000 students. Today, it is a well-respected name with a team of more than 100 dedicated educators and staff.

His academic achievements (94% in Class 10 ICSE, 90% in Class 12) reflect his personal commitment to excellence. His version of discipline isn’t about pressure; it’s about crafting supportive systems that allow students to explore, question, and grow.
In his classroom, curiosity is king. Students feel safe to express confusion, ask questions, and push boundaries — traits that contribute to Yashwant Classes' remarkable track record in academic results and character development.
