A distinguished delegation comprising prominent principals representing CBSE-affiliated schools in India embarked on an enlightening educational journey to Bangkok, Thailand, spanning May 27th and 28th, 2024. Spearheaded by Mr. Avinash Shrinivasrao Kulkarni from Loknete Ramsheth Thakur Public School, Kamothe, Navi Mumbai, the delegation comprised esteemed educators including Dr. Nikita Kothari from Indoscot Global School, Thane, Dr. Deepali Shirgave from Vishwa Kalyan English Medium School, Chikhali, Pune, and Dr. Ashwini Pansare from Abhinav Public School and Junior College, Pune.
On May 27th, 2024, the delegation convened with Dr. Kanchulee Punyain, a distinguished educator of the Senior Professionals Level at the Excellence in Science Education Bureau (ESEB), within the Office of the Basic Education Commission, Ministry of Education, Thailand, alongside her esteemed team. This gathering also welcomed Dr. Mark, an advisory board member of the International Advisory Forum for School Wellbeing (IAFSW). The focal point of this engagement was a captivating presentation entitled "Inspiring Science: Embedding Authentic STEM Teaching and Learning in the Classroom." This presentation not only captivated the audience but also provided invaluable insights into pioneering STEM education methodologies. Furthermore, a comprehensive overview of the Thai education system was shared, eliciting admiration from the Indian delegates and prompting reflections on potential enhancements within the Indian educational landscape. Particularly noteworthy was the commendable performance of Thai students in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), which sparked discussions on adopting novel approaches to elevate the quality of education in India.
The session culminated in deliberations on prospective collaboration avenues, with both parties expressing keen interest in joint initiatives such as educational fairs and student exchange programs. These initiatives are envisioned to foster deeper international understanding and facilitate the exchange of exemplary educational practices.
Continuing the momentum on May 28th, 2024, the delegation convened with Dr. Pornpun Waitayangkoon, President of IAFSW, and her distinguished team to explore avenues for empowering Generation Z with future-ready STEM competencies. Notable attendees included Dr. Mark Windale, an International Advisory Board member of IAFSW, Ms. Jintana Pornraksamane, Vice President of IAFSW, and Mrs. Parichat Puangmanee, an Executive Committee Member of IAFSW. The Indian delegation, led by Mr. Avinash Kulkarni, actively participated in discussions alongside online contributions from Dr Narendra Deshmukh from India and Dr. John Stiles from the United States, esteemed members of the International Advisory Board (IAWSF).
This pivotal engagement centered on the adoption of innovative strategies to equip Gen Z students with the requisite skills and knowledge imperative for thriving in the dynamic job market of the future.
