- 'Sochu' children's book set released.
In the past, older people in a family used to introduce moral values by telling them stories. Children were nurtured through different children's stories. But today the situation is different. These days children are becoming addicted to the internet and cell phones. In fact, the children love the story as much as their favourite snack. Then a thought came to the minds of the three young men from Pune Deven Gandhi, Vilas Algude and Chetan Vohra that if we make this food nutritious and interesting, it is because these three friends had a goal to do something concrete for the little ones. They wanted to do something for the holistic development of children that would be non-violent and conducive to the mental growth of children. When they thought about it, they realized that there is a lack of reading in mainstream entertainment for children. The thought of creating a book came from the idea that it is not possible to take children away from the world of the internet so something can be done to generate interest in reading. From this thought came the concept of bookmaking and a seven-year-old 'Sochu' who represents the present generation was formed! Now the book is ready for children to read. Chetan Vohra explained the concept behind the book at a press conference that was held recently. Who is Sochu? Sochu means a Thinker. Like every animal has a specific quality to survive. Birds have wings, fish have gills, tigers have claws, and humans have the ability to think. Sochu solves his problems by thinking. So through thinking, we want to inculcate the idea that “thinking is for everyone and thinking can be a lot of fun”. Currently, the Sochu storybook has twelve stories written by Deven, Vilas and Chetan that relate to our daily lives. The idea behind the creation of Sochu is to bring about positive change in children. Cartoons are an integral part of the children's world of entertainment so the book Sochu has been produced in illustrated form. Everyone will like Sochu who promotes non-violence, friendship, love, and knowledge along with a happy and healthy life. Now Sochu is all set to enhance the thought process.

- Ishitva raises over $1 million in Pre-Series A led by Inflection Point Ventures
The Ahmedabad-based robotic startup, Ishitva has raised a Pre-Series A round of over $1mn led by Inflection Point Ventures, one of India’s largest angel investment platforms. The funds raised will be utilised in growing sales and expanding the R&D team. Ishitva uses AI, ML, IoT Industry 4.0 to build efficient solutions which help in sorting complex waste. Effective sorting of waste is currently the weakest link in creating a circular value chain. Therefore, to avoid dumping and burning of dry waste, which leads to serious environmental hazards, the company focuses on leveraging industry 4.0 tools to systematically sort out waste and assess the quality of recyclable waste. Mitesh Shah, Co-founder, Inflection Point Ventures says, “According to MoHUA, as of January 2020, India generated 1,47,613 MT of solid waste. This is a serious situation that our country is headed to and we are seeing startups taking on this challenge to address the waste generated in the country. Ishitva’s model is particularly innovative as they are leveraging cutting-edge technology to sort out the waste which is already being generated. Sorting the waste is the first step to a meaningful recycling ecosystem. Ishitva’s business vision and our ESG goals are a seamless synergy which prompted us to invest in the company.” Ishitva currently offers a range of solutions including SUKA (AI-powered air sorting), YUTA, (AI-powered robotic sorting) and Netra AI Vision system which helps in identifying waste and smart bins. The AI-powered Netra identifies the waste, learns about its contents by capturing images, and then scans for recyclable material. Ishitva’s AI-powered sorting solutions are already installed in commercial material recovery facilities and the company is an advanced stage of talks with multiple MRF facilities as well as recyclers in the plastic value chain. Many waste management and plastic value chain players and veterans also participated including Kamaljyot Investments Ltd (a subsidiary of Excel Industries Ltd), Gandhi Family from GRP Ltd., AVI Global Plast Private Limited, Anup Gulati COO at Quality Maritime Provider Lda., Harinder Arya President & Div CEO - Major Capex & Pressure Control at Joulon, Sanjay Kamlani Serial Investor and Founder of Pangea3 and Mohan Ayyangar: Operations Lead – GDS EY India. Jitesh Dadlani, Founder of Ishitva, have spent more than 5 years working closely with waste management companies to understand their challenges and to explore how to mitigate these using industry 4.0 tools says, “Indian waste management industry is a riddle and our unlimited dream is to eliminate the manual sorting of waste which often involves humans to work unhygienic conditions. Our vision is to install industry 4.0 solutions in 4000+ towns of the country picked up by Swachh Bharat mission and we are thrilled to have IPV as a part of this journey.” Sandip Singh, CEO of Ishitva, with 16 years of experience in venture building and private equity investments, says: “We are excited that many of the waste industry stalwarts are joining early in our journey. With IPV, we now have access to a large pool of professionals and experts which is immensely useful at this stage for us.” Waste sorting in India is currently mostly done by humans. The process is not only unhygienic and tedious but also dangerous for human beings. Using the powerful ishitvAI algorithm, the startup has built one of the most advanced Air Sorting Solutions SUKA 1.3, with the capability to sort up to 6 tons of plastic waste/ hour. This system is an answer to various sorting challenges faced by the industry including Black Plastic, Multilayer packaging (including MLP flexibles), Objects with sleeves, Objects with dirt layer on top, Brand identification and quantification etc. In addition, their next industry-changing concept is a fully automated material recovery facility which provides the last level of segregation without any human intervention. Only 10% of waste is recycled in the World and the balance goes for dumping in the land, water bodies, oceans, and incineration. About 66% of global waste is generated in low-income countries, therefore, we need solutions that can be adopted by these economies to solve this global problem. With the use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Vision, Ishitva has been able to make material recovery efficient for low-income countries, even for the decentralized and smaller size operations. About Ishitva Ishitva was founded in 2018 by Jitesh, coming from more than 15 years of experience in building software solutions for various Fortune 500 businesses, with a tall ambition to revolutionize the waste management industry with the power of industry 4.0 tools. - Mental Health in Legal Profession: Linkedin Feed from Arunima Jha
Fear of failure and rejection. I always thought it's personal but then I came across so many courageous people who despite being vulnerable and put their stories in public. And that's being courageous for me. It's always about your self-journey and your opportunity to cleanse and heal. Talking about mental health is always stigmatised and more so often in the legal profession. Depression and suicide rates have significantly gone higher esp. after the pandemic hit. Mental health wellness should be the most important and I believe I talking about it openly primarily because if my experience, strength and hope can help one person to break the stigma, then that person would help another one to break the stigma, so on and so forth. So it's like becoming a chain in recovery and empathy. One person = One Life. Back in 2008, when I had my first panic disorder attack, I was conscious about talking about it openly. This was the most stigmatised topic and being a teenager I couldn't openly express my struggle. This was so overwhelming for me that I thought I was the only one struggling. However, I came across so many articles and stories about people going through the same experience. I don't want to be intellectually dishonest while talking about my struggles. I worked on skills, fear and treating it like a business. When I started out talking about panic disorder, I started with Facebook. Talk about a tough audience. So many people reached out to me and part of my talk helped them to share their struggles with me. I feel very privileged to have this resonating strike with my audience. Law is about adopting a path of resistance. Law wasn't my first choice, I wanted to be a doctor but then one fine day when I was 15, surrounded by people discussing law, I thought I can be a lawyer. I have spoken at a lot of law schools and what I did find unique is the first generation lawyers who are always put under such tremendous pressure. Law makes you analytic but it's hard to be analytic when you're stressed. You have to stay positive and self-motivating. It's more of a continuing journey and not a brightening moment. Sometimes you have to go through the struggle to find out your calling. You can't regret your pathway. Recognize your triggers - emotional and environmental, both. Don't lose your awareness because relapse can always happen. Not everyone is meant to be emotionally strong, pivot, set your new path and explore how you are unique. - And the Century Continues: Pushkar's magnificent 109 seals victory for Ruaraka against SCLPS
Special Thanks to Arijit Kundu for bringing this exclusive coverage for our Readers. Another day and another century for the Kenyan batter, Pushkar Sharma. Some cricketers feel proud when they score a ton in a tournament and then comes this swashbuckling southpaw, who hit his fourth century of the ongoing Nairobi Provincial tournament this Sunday. It was an encounter between Ruaraka A and SCLPS club. Pushkar had won the toss and elected to bat first. Raurka A lost wickets of opener Chandresh Hirani and one-down batter, Nitish Hirani in quick succession. Mahendra Siyani deserves the credit for this situation. Pushkar had opened the innings with Chandresh Hirani and had to take control of the innings from one end. He played his natural game and avoided unnecessary risks while his stay. Both Zephania and Gill looked good but couldn't continue batting for long as they soon fell prey to some lethal bowling from SCLPS. Pushkar was the lone warrior in this innings smacking 12 boundaries and 2 sixes. He went on to score 109 runs from 96 deliveries. His innings comprised of some fascinating shots played at most parts of the ground. He helped his team get to a total of 214 and later on Ruaraka A defended quite well as they bundled SCPLS for 148. Sachin Gill and Vishil were brilliant with the ball as the former picked up two wickets and the later scalped a four-for. Like in school without a teacher, students can't do anything. In cricket, we can't do anything without a coach so credit goes to coach Franko and Mansuk - Pushkar Sharma ,Star Player Ruaraka Pushkar has been in the form of his life in this tournament. He has amassed 715 runs in 10 matches so far in the tournament with an average of 89.38. and strike rate of 103.77.

She started the session with a question about the theme of the session ‘What’s Your Style’ and mentioned that everyone present in the session would be thinking about what style she is going to talk about? Would it be Hairstyle, dressing style, living style or what style? She unveiled that she is going to talk about the most important style which is ‘Learning Style’ and why it is important for everyone! She stated that a human brain is a machine. What you order, what you practice…brain will follow. All information enters our brain in three main ways: Hearing, Seeing & Touch. The one which we use more becomes our style. How do you understand, how do you comprehend, how do you access and how do you retain information becomes your learning style. As no one is the same, hence so is the learning style. Our Learning Style depends upon cognitive factors, emotional factors and environmental factors and any experience of our life. Did she toss a question to the audience, when exactly we started learning, which era? One of the participants answered that learning starts in the womb itself. She echoed with it and clarified that when we are in the womb, nobody trains us except God. Learning is an ongoing process, either one is a baby, toddler, pre-scholar, scholar, adolescent, teenager, youth and old aged. Every phase of our life teaches us new lessons and experience is the best teacher. Next, she talked about different types of learning and displayed a slide which mentioned ‘Life Cycle of a Butterfly’ which includes a process called metamorphosis, which involves four stages namely ‘from eggs, larva, pupa & finally into a butterfly’ and asked which is your favourite part of all these stages to which our host answered ‘Butterfly’. With this, she revealed that this is our first style of learning, known as ‘Visual Learning’. This learning style is followed by people who use maps, diagrams or pictures. She added that according to research, children in the age of 3-8 years begins to form. Children up to the age of 5 years create a blueprint in their minds. She added that although this is a great style as people feel the idea, create the story but this style has a weakness ‘Lack of visibility & vision’. The next slide had some pictures which she asked what are these? She revealed that with this she was checking observation. She came with another slide with a tongue twister and was told that this is another style of learning known as ‘Verbal or Linguistic Learning’. This learning style is followed by people who take the use writing, speaking, linguistic skills. The weakness of verbal learners is a lack of visualization (mind mapping). Next, she talked about ‘Kinaesthetic learning’. These are the people who are hyper learners. These people cannot sit at a place or stick to something for a longer duration as they want to feel, demonstrate rather than explain and may be a cause of distraction for others. She added that a learning style with the power of touch is more helpful in perceiving the information. She added that ‘Social Learning’ is another aspect and this is vital as socializing makes a powerful impact and she gave the example of Dr Gaurav Sharma who is very good at making the connection. She told that this is only possible with great interpersonal skills and how you connect and approach others. These people are great connectors and transfer beneficial knowledge. The only thing to be remembered here is that the communication here should not be mere gossiping. She highlighted that there are Solitary learners as well and they are the people who are independent, introspective and engage in self-learning. Last but not the least, she told about the Auditory Learners who are known for learning by hearing. These people love listening, reading, understanding things and hear information and respond best to the spoken instructions. The weakness of them to is visualization. While concluding the session, she asked the participants to reveal what kind of learner they are to which many participants responded. She also highlighted this session was dedicated to the ‘VAK’ model – Visual, Auditory & Kinaesthetic model. Learning is all about moving from ordinary to extraordinary. At last, Dr Ina Singh gave the vote of thanks to Dr Supriya Kumaravelan for giving her precious time on Thunderbolts and shared her insights on this vital topic – ‘What’s Your Style??’.
